"Mr. Pryor's nursery always does an excellent job. We have used his trees for multiple yard living fences over the past 9 years and results are always superb. He planted leyland cypress in the rear and side of our home 9 years ago (including installing a drip irrigation system) and now the trees are 15-20 feet tall and look great as all the neighbors comment! He also planted a holly fence in another region of our backyard with similar beautiful results. Recently, we also asked him to plant a green giant living fence in another part of our property. He has also landscaped several garden beds with very pleasing results. He is very reliable and always returns quickly to address any questions or problems. Mr. Pryor is very knowledgeable in the care and upkeep of his plants, having taken many agricultural extension courses . His planting crews are also knowledgeable and very careful in completion of all work from planting, installing drip irrigation systems, developing garden beds, and pruning of trees and shrubs as they grow large. I recommend his tree nursery without any reservations."

"<p>She is wonderful. She did a huge proposal and I think we are going to contract with her. She hasn?t provided the service yet, but she was really great. It is not only for redesigning the garden, but also for fixing up the irrigation issues we have. Our whole garden gets collected with puddles of water which makes staying on the garden quite impossible. Her proposal was for digging inside and to put something in order to get the water out. So, she has quoted $10000 for the whole thing. She responded on time. The offer came in within 24 hours. When we had some questions, she called us back right away. She spent all the time to answer all our questions. She is agreeable. She has been very professional. She seemed to know exactly what she was talking about and seemed like she could show us the results. </p>"

"We had the best experience with this contractor! Starting with Clark the onsite supervisor he's very knowledgeable, professional and a great communicator. He made sure that we knew what was going on and the plan for the next day. Our job took about 4 weeks and we were totally comfortable having them in our home everyday. Matt, Sam and Eric were all awesome and we were very happy with their hard work! This team did a great job! I would recommend them to anyone looking for a contractor that does what they say they're going to do. Thank you Clark, Matt, Sam and Eric good luck to you all!"

"Initially, I needed a company to trench a water line to my garden. I contacted a few companies, some didn't respond and some quoted an exorbitant amount of money. Tom Lerch responded quickly and gave me a reasonable quote. Since we were interested in enhancing our backyard entertaining we also had Tom survey our property. He had a lot of opinions and since I had some specific design questions, he offered to put us in touch with a design architecture company. This was probably the only negative part of my overall experience with Lerch Brothers. The design company was talented, but they offered extra design ideas that I didn't request and attempted to bill me for them. This was resolved, but I found the experience a little distasteful. The installation of the garden faucet was seamless and my days of dragging 300 feet of hose is over. After brainstorming, we decided that we wanted to install a custom pergola over a patio. Tom was able to find a company that would design what we desired at a reasonable price. Once we agreed on a plan, things were very efficient afterwards. Each team that arrived for work were respectful to us and our property. They took great care to not disturb areas that were not involved in construction. When hiccups did happen, John Lerch (the project manager) was quick to contact me and resolve the issue. For example, the freight delivery was delayed in Baltimore. Instead of waiting for the local delivery company to find a truck to complete the process he sent his team to retrieve the products. I really appreciated that John was very involved in each step of construction. Even though we are just finishing up with the project, I can look at the overall experience with a great sense of satisfaction. You hear more horror stories about construction/renovation companies. I can definitely gives these guys my 100% support and recommend them to anyone."

FAQs for lawn and garden sprinkler system installation projects in Sharpsburg, MD

While drip irrigation systems have higher upfront costs, they can save you money in the long run. By delivering water directly into the soil with minimal evaporation and runoff, drip irrigation systems conserve water and improve efficiency. This means better performance and results for your landscaping, and cost savings over the system's lifespan.

Yes, irrigation systems can add value to your home, especially when installed with high-quality materials and a solid design. A well-irrigated landscape enhances curb appeal and can attract potential buyers. However, poor design or installation may reduce performance and even decrease your property's value. Hiring an expert for installation and performing regular maintenance is key to securing the long-term benefits.

A local irrigation professional can help you check your drip irrigation system to make sure it's in good shape. You'll want to make sure the water pressure is in a good range, repair any leaks as soon as possible, and cover the cost to winterize your sprinkler system as recommended by your irrigation contractor.

A drip irrigation system lasts between 10 and 15 years. This lifespan is determined by the quality of materials, the precision of installation, and regular professional maintenance. Unlike traditional sprinkler systems that can last up to 50 years, the thinner piping used in drip systems is more sensitive to UV exposure and environmental wear. Proper upkeep and timely repairs enhance durability and ensure consistent irrigation performance.

Drip irrigation is best suited for plant beds, containers, greenhouses, and row crops. It supplies water directly to individual plants, ensuring precise moisture control where it is needed most. For areas with simple layouts, above-ground systems work efficiently, while subsurface installations may be cost-prohibitive in spaces with extensive tree roots or irregular terrain. Proper planning maximizes the benefits of drip irrigation across a variety of applications.
