"The estimate was at no cost to me. The price for the service was reasonable. They were very friendly and made the project scheduling easy. The driveway turned out just as I requested. The driveway project was completed in one day. The driveway is very nice, and absolutely perfect in appearance. I am looking forward to using it after it has dried. Extra perk, the neighbors were commenting on how nice it looked. I am definitely pleased with the job. I definitely recommend this company for a driveway install."

"It went great. Todd arrived on the agreed upon day at the agreed upon time. So many don't vendors just don't show up but he did! The price was reasonable. The work quality. Todd was very responsive to any questions I had and made a visit to make sure it was all working properly since I wasn't at home the day it was installed. Very happy with their work and service."

"They did an outstanding job in one of the rooms, where they spent extra time making sure to get a few spots out. The two other rooms were average, as numerous spots remained. Surprisingly, I don't recall their mentioning their inability to get the spots out when the left my house. Also, they were supposed to clean the carpet in a short hallway, but it was obviously not cleaned at all. <br /> Of note, it appears they do not vacuum before they clean the carpets. So, where I had any pieces of solid material on the carpet (think stray popcorn kernels and the like), it remained when they left (though it was pushed to the edges). <br /> I guess I expected more: <br /> 1. A thorough vacuuming first so the full floor of the room was clean <br /> 2. Spot removal in all rooms, or comments about where/why they were unable to remove spots <br /> 3. Consistent performance from one room to the next. It seemed they were focused on making the "nicest"/"most important" room look good, but didn't care as much about the rooms that are less high profile in the house. <br /> If you hire them, my recommendations: <br /> 1. Be sure to walk through and discuss your needs before, and walkthrough with them after as well to ensure satisfaction <br /> 2. They obviously take pride in their work and were extremely professional and efficient. As long as you are able to establish clear expectations up front, I believe you won't be disappointed. <br />"

"The hardwood would have been an A and the kitchen cabinets would be a C and the appliance would be and B.  The person doing the instillation on the cabinets wasn’t as good and precise and the person who did the hardwood floors. The hardwood floors installer was perfect. The cabinet that was ordered was fine, it’s just the skill level of the installer wasn’t up to an A or B grade."

"I had my laminate countertop replaced with granite. It looks great! The install date was postponed once due to an equipment breakdown but they bent over backwards to accommodate my schedule. The workers were nice and efficient. I would definitely use them again. I have actually recommended them to my brother. If he replaces his countertops he will check them out. They did not replace my sink. I like my sink so I kept it."

FAQs for gravel or loose fill paving install, spread or scrape projects in Shelbyville, TN

To calculate how much pea gravel you need for your project, multiply the length, width, and depth of the area you want to cover to find the volume in cubic feet. Then, divide that number by 27 to convert it to cubic yards to determine the amount of pea gravel you need.

A yard of pea gravel weighs about 1.3 tons or 2,600 pounds. Keep in mind that wet gravel weighs more than dry, and different types of gravel can vary in weight. For example, due to its density, river rock weighs significantly more than crushed stone and pea gravel.

The ideal depth for pea gravel depends on the type and size of your project. You'll need at least two to three inches for walkways and patios and a minimum of six inches for driveways to support heavy vehicles and prevent shifting over time. Aim for a depth of three to four inches in decorative garden beds or drainage areas.

Pea gravel is attractive, versatile, and low-maintenance. It provides excellent drainage, making it ideal for pathways, driveways, and garden beds. On the downside, its sharp texture isn't ideal for bare feet, and it can be challenging to weed or remove once installed. It can also shift underfoot without proper edging, creating an uneven surface.

Alternative landscaping materials you can use instead of pea gravel include wood chips, decomposed granite, crushed stone, pebbles, quartz, mulch, sand, and river rock. These materials offer different aesthetics, performance, and costs, so it’s important to do your research to determine which one best fits your landscape design and budget.

Many homeowners choose pea gravel because it requires minimal upkeep compared to other landscaping materials. You'll need to rake it occasionally to redistribute the stones and maintain an even surface. Pros also recommend installing weed barrier fabric beneath the gravel to prevent unwanted growth, although some weeds may still appear over time.
