"Joseph and his crew were delightful and professional to work with. I wanted a stamped concrete driveway and Joseph took time to throughly explained to me the color and seal options. They came in leveled and graded my drive hauled away some dirt and broken concrete set the forms and finished the site prep all in one day They returned a day later poured and finished my 73 foot long 15 foot wide driveway on one day. They returned a day later to clean up, remove forms and apply the sealer. Upon their departure they left behind nothing but a beautiful Roman slate textured driveway! In the end I could not be happier! My driveway looks great and literally sparkles as if it was natural slate! Just as Joseph promised! You won't be disappointed!"

"I called Doug for an estimate and he got back to me quickly by text.  He took at look at my property and gave me a bid for the job.  I also had other bids for the job but I was impressed with the fact that he had all of the steps included in the bid that we knew should be included in this concrete repair job.  Doug and his crew arrived on the job as scheduled and the job was completed on schedule.  I was impressed by the knowledge of Doug and his crew about concrete, thickness, cure time, etc. - all of them knew what they were doing, that was obvious.  I went with an aggregate finish and it looks great.  Doug even added a step at my back door for me with the left over cement.  I would definitely hire them again for concrete pouring needs.

"They almost finished but I made the mistake of paying when they were almost done. They didn't show up to remove the last of the plywood forms for the retaining wall. I called at least 4 times and requested that Nelson, the owner of the Co. to send someone to complete the job. He told me 4 times ok and gave me a day when they would come to do that. All 4 times no one showed up. And no one called to say they wouldn't be there. I feel that Nelson was playing with me but do not understand why? I paid in full. $12,000 + tax. Also, he requested I make the check out to his name. I don't know if that is legal to do or not. But I did it."

"It went very well. Mapa and his team were here promptly and did an excellent job of taking out the broken blocks along with a grape plant, putting in new rebar to join the 2 walls and provide stability, building a wooden frame and then pouring the new concrete to encase some parts of the old wall that were still stable. They also filled an area with screening and smaller rocks to allow for extra drainage. Clean-up was very good."

"It was OK. I paid additional fees with a slightly bigger job. A sewer pipe collapsed and they had to cut into the concrete to get to the pipe and the guys didn't cut it straight so it needed to be redone, so they ripped that out. In our driveway we had a crack in it and they poured a little concrete in that. We also had a garage with an old foundation and we put a new door in it and there was an inch gap between the door and the bottom and they made a little concrete raise to seal the door when it closes. It felt like some of the stuff they did wasn't the best quality and also the stuff we asked him to do he went with the cheapest fix so I wouldn't trash them. The mound they made for the garage door didn't adhere to the flooring and I don't know if they didn't prep the concrete properly or if that was expected to happen so I would say it was fine. We were trying to get the house ready to get the house sold. I don't know if I would call them again if I wanted a more permanent job. The guy and his crew were impressive though. One of them was huge and he broke up the foundation manually I thought he would have used a jackhammer and all of them were very nice."

"Polo was on time and efficient. From the first day I had meet with him about the job to completion was 5 days. After being strung along for two months from another contractor, I gave up. Polo stepped up and I became his priority. Polo is a professional. His work gave me a beautiful patio and I will hire him again."

"I needed some blacktop patched and repaired. Kini came out to look at the job and advised me on my options. When I made a decision to have the repair done, Kini came out before our scheduled meeting and did the work. No charge—done out of the kindness of his heart! The job looks great, and I will definitely be calling him again… only I will NOT allow him to work for free! Very gracious, caring, and skillful. He was quick to respond to my requests!"

"I don't like to write bad reviews and was hesitant to write this one, but every time it rains (often) and I need to brush away the many puddles on my fairly new concrete pad, I'm annoyed. Eti came in with the lowest quote and combined with his favorable reviews I decided to move forward. The job ended up being more than Eti estimated, and I was asked to provide more money on two separate occasions, making his quote now more expensive than some others I got. In addition, the Bobcat he used completely obliterated my front lawn. I ended up having to resod the lawn and while I attempted to even out the ground, it is still bumpy and am reminded of that every time I mow my lawn. I contacted Eti via text to fix the puddles, and he came back once to check it out and he was going to try fix it, though it would be through an epoxy that would be off-color from the rest of the cement pad. I coordinated time for Eti to come back and he never came and I grew tired of contacting him to come fix it. Overall he was a nice guy, and if the pad didn't have puddles and my front lawn wasn't destroyed, I'd be ok with paying the extra money, but ultimately the results were not good."

FAQs for concrete driveways & floors installation projects in Shelton, WA

Whether terrazzo is better than porcelain or ceramic tiles for a kitchen or bathroom floor depends on your design preference. Terrazzo can last a long time, but so can a properly installed ceramic tile floor. According to the National Association of Home Builders, the lifespan of a ceramic tile floor is 75 to 100 years, similar to terrazzo.

You should clean terrazzo floors like you would marble, even if there’s no marble in the aggregate. Avoid abrasive cleaners that can scratch the polished surface, and steer clear of acidic cleaners like vinegar, which can damage the surface. Instead, use plain water or a neutral cleaner to mop the floor. Then, use a wet vac or squeegee to remove the dirty water. Regular buffing with a soft cloth can help you maintain the shine.

Terrazzo is made by mixing an aggregate like glass or stone with a binder like cement or epoxy. The mix is made and poured into the prepared space you designate. Alternatively, you can purchase prefabricated terrazzo tiles, which consist of similar materials. They’re poured into a mold and cured before installation.

You can add radiant heating under a terrazzo floor, which is an excellent way to combat the naturally cold surface of terrazzo floors. Installing radiant heating costs $1,653 to $6,656. You'll want to install the heating elements under the thin-set epoxy because the layer is thin enough for the warmth to conduct through the floor.

Making your own terrazzo can be a tricky DIY project. The exact mix takes a blend of art and skill to create and requires the expertise of a terrazzo pro. The wrong blend could crack, peel, or break easily, requiring expensive repairs. Finishing and polishing the floor also requires previous experience to achieve a professional appearance. Expect to pay between $200 and $2,500 for the cost of restoring and polishing floors.

Terrazzo flooring is eco-friendly because it is crafted using recycled materials such as glass, marble, and polished metal, and its epoxy binder emits no VOCs once cured. This sustainable manufacturing approach minimizes waste and supports green building practices. Homeowners gain an attractive flooring option, contributing to healthier indoor air quality and environmental conservation.
