"We set an appointment with Adam from A1 sewer to have a sewer camera inspection for a home we were considering purchasing. Before the scheduled time Adam contacted us to ask if we were paying for the inspection or if the seller was. Against his own interests he told us that in the area we were considering purchasing the seller is required to provide a sewer inspection, a fact our realtor failed to inform us of. This may have cost him our business on this home but went a long way in gaining our trust. We did not end up purchasing the home, but when we put our next offer in we will be using A1 because they showed that they have our best interest at heart. I look forward to doing business with them in the near future."

"Matt Mertz Plumbing came out again to clear a clog in my indoor sewer line. I rated them an "A" back in February for the same. They were all prompt, professional and pleasant. Earl again was unable to snake the line clear, and Chris came out to hydrojet the line on a different day, as before, which got most of the line cleared (with the exception of the branch to the furnace room drain). Again, they recommended sewer line replacement, which would require jackhammering the garage and basement cement flooring, up to two weeks of work, and $16,000. Prior to such an expenditure, I requested a second opinion from a different plumbing company. They came out, finished clearing the furnace branch line, ran a camera through the system from two different insertion points, gave me a DVD copy of the video so that I could see what they saw, determined that the 1940s terra cotta pipes were in functional and average condition for their age and this area, and recommended to not proceed with replacement at this time. They charged me $250. I am not stating that Matt Mertz Plumbing was less than forthright, or that the pipes may not need replacing at some point, however the other company's transparent and thorough work demonstrate the importance of second opinions and healthy competition among service providers."

"We had a big job to do and took a chance hiring a plumber through Angie's List, since we didn't know any. This was a great choice. My first contact was with Lori when I called. Pleasant and knowledgeable. Set up an appointment for Jay to come to our home and discuss what we wanted done. He arrived with Joe. My husband discussed the project and we set up the date for the work to be done. Arrived as was scheduled. Jay, Joe and Craig worked with us with changes and additions to the original plan. Never complaining. Some of the changes added to the project price but that was announced right up front. This job was to hook us up to the public sewer line that our borough installed a few years ago. We had a huge sump hole in our basement that took on the washing machine water and the utility tub water. And since there was no public sewer system in our area when we built, a sump pump was our only option to get water out of the basement. They jack hammered approx. 30 ft of basement floor and dug about a 20-25 ft ditch (approx. 6 ft deep) in our yard to run the gravity flow line. They rerouted a drain that came from the main floor kitchen and bath and added a trap to the basement floor drain. They closed off an additional drain that was set up for a future bathroom which will never be added. They removed and took with them our sump pump and a 3/4 inch thick, 4 ft x 3 ft (approx.) steel lid (seemed like 200 lbs) that covered the sump hole. This is another reason for the new sewer line. We are getting too old to lift this to change the sump pump. By the way this was all done with the guys going through our main floor to get to the basement as we have no outside entrance to the basement. Through all of this work they, all 3, were respectful of our home and us, pleasant to work with and a lot of fun. By the time they finished there was no debris left in the basement. Just a lot of dust which we knew to expect with all the jack hammering and digging they did. I would highly, highly recommend these people. You will never be sorry you did. I love Angie's List."

"Frank does good work and is honest. It is just him doing the work and taking calls and not a fleet of plumbers behind a front desk. He is a master plumber and his prices reflect that experience. He is responsive and gave me a quote before doing the work. I have also since contacted him about additional plumbing related questions and he was able to help guide me toward contacting the county about my sanitary sewer test records. He was under no obligation to help me, but he did so anyway. Unfortunately the work that I need done may require snaking a camera which is equipment that Frank does not have."

"The owner of the company is a good guy. A couple of years ago he was here when my gas line had to be lined. Did a good, clean job. He was here again today to clear a clogged drain. Again, clean quick job. Price was very reasonable for both services. I recommend them and will use them again. "

"Steve and Ryan were terrific. Explained how the system worked in a very simple and clear manor. They were able to spot a few potential issues with the system. I would hire them again in a second."

"When I placed the call for service, I explained that I had two systems that were overdue for pumping. I also suspected that I had problems with the sump pump--a couple years ago the alarm had gone off, but I had been unable to find anyone who would come to look at it. I also explained that I was a single woman and was physically I was unable to dig to uncover the opening to pump the system due to back surgery. Last summer the company I had used for years made it clear that they did not want to shovel for the openings and did not return several calls. Even though I had never used Economy Septic's services before, we agreed upon a date, and they showed up exactly on time. They were professional, informative, and courteous. They were clean, and their equipment was very clean and well-maintained. With shovels, they were quickly able to locate all access points. The owner and his son worked on my job. They took the time to patiently explain the way the system should work, what they were doing, and the reasons for their recommendations. They discovered that the solid waste tank was probably not pumped the last time our system was serviced. They had the necessary replacement sump pump on hand and explained the installation to me. I now have a much better understanding of how the system works and must be maintained, and I am now on their maintenance schedule. I never expected to be treated so well. I am very happy with this service and have already recommended them to several people. Economy Septic was wonderful, and they have me as a customer for life! <br />"
