"I worked with Andre, the owner and Sewer Surgeon himself. He was accommodating of my schedule and so knowledgeable. He answered my call quickly, eased my concerns and fixed the leak from our upstairs shower into our downstairs ceiling quickly and efficiently. I will definitely be working with Andre again - his pricing was fair, and he walked me through every step of the process so that I understood what he was doing and what was necessary in the repairs. I did not feel like he was trying to confuse me or take advantage of me as a first time homeowner. Believe the hype - Sewer Surgeon is the real deal."

"Zachary Shreve was my service specialist on the day my plumbing decided to back up again! I routinely have to have sewer work, old house, an addition, and pipes that go a few different places. Zach went into my crawlspace and for the first time found a avenue to do the work without moving the toilet. He showed us each step he was taking and we super appreciated that! He was honest, pleasant, and finished sooner than all the other techs previously. I will recommend Reddi services to all my friends and neighbors! Thanks so much Zach!"

"I requested Cesar (with Anthony Plumbing) come back to do a toilet installation because he had recommended a replacement the last time he was here. I felt he was professional, and knowledgeable, and now that the installation is complete, my confidence in Cesar's ability was justified. I have used Anthony Plumbing Heating Cooling for years. They replaced my central heat, later my central air, and recently replaced all the old cast iron pipes in my 60 year old home. I trust this company to stand behind their work. Plus, every technician they've ever sent out have been top notch."

"My husband and I have an older house that is surrounded by older trees... and their roots. The roots are a constant problem. They get into our main line and cause it to back up and overflow in our basement. Yuck. We stumbled upon Poor John's Plumbing when I did a Google search last year (May 2012) when this happened. They were out the very next day for a flat rate of $79 to clear out the main line, plus a $10 fuel charge. They were the cheapest out of the (at least) 5 places I called. And they guaranteed the work for 90 days (no other company offered this).
We had to have them come back out this week (approximately one year later - April 2013) to clear out the main line again. This is through no fault of their's though. If we want to get rid of the root problem, we have to replace the main line itself. I'd rather pay them $89 a year to just come out and clear it until we absolutely have to replace it!
We also had them come check out a leaky pipe in September 2012 and they only charged us $25 to take care of it.
Amazing Company, Great Work, Highly Recommended!

"We were in the process of selling & during the inspection the buyer found a issue with the sewer. On a Sunday at 7:30 we sent a request on Angie's list for a plumber to return my call. True Blue answered me in less than an hour and we got scheduled within a day. I met with Anthony and he was able to diagnose the problem and get me a quote. We had other quotes and not one of them offered to clean up after the repairs. Anthony was absolutely the best to work with. We decided to get a partial sewer replacement and a waterline fixed. He was great at communicating everything to us and even sent numerous pictures of the progress. They did such a great job of cleaning up and even worked on the weekends to get the job done!! Would recommend to anyone that wants the job done quickly but also professionally!!"

"I have 2 rental houses and am not a great plumber myself so I have used probably 5 different ones that I got from Angie?s List. Most of them were very good plumbers but they all drained my pocket book when they were finished and charged outrageous prices for not only parts but a couple charged over $100.00 an hour for their travel to and from my house.  I don?t know about everyone else, but I was tired of getting ripped off by plumbers until Rooter Fast.  I admit, that in my opinion, plumbing is the most difficult skill to learn in the construction industry (anyone who has gone to the Hardware Store to try to even buy plumbing parts will tell you the same) .  But come on, most charge as much as attorneys and doctors.
First Experience
My first experiance with Rooter Fast occurred when tree roots clogged the main drain in one of my rental houses.  I called two different plumbers.  The first tied to use a sewer snake.  They concluded that I needed a new drain line and quoted me $7,100 to install a liner in the drain.  No way I could afford that, so I called the second plumber who actually used a rooter and ran out of rooter line about 100 feet (still had about 30 feet to go the city sewer).  Although he did not get all the way to the city manhole, he was pretty sure I needed a new main also.  They quoted ~$2,500 to dig up and replace the line.
I called Rooter Fast based on Angie?s list recommendations to get another bid for line replacement. When I explained what happened to David Cox of Rooter Fast, he seemed skeptical that I even needed to replace the line.  Said he would come out and look at my house.  He called me the next day and told me that he knows some of the people at the second company and he called them up to discuss my situation.  David said that company #2 would come back and rooter the drain all the way to sewer for an extra $50.00.  They did that and it cleared the drain completely.
How many plumbers do you know who would do that?  David could have given me an alternate bid to replace the line, or at a minimum, re-rooter the sewer himself.  He also followed up with a phone call to be sure they had taken care of me.  He was more service oriented than both of the other 2 companies and Fast Rotter didn?t even make a dime.  Sure saved me a ton of
money!
Second Experience
Since e then I have had Rooter Fast to install a drain under my kitchen sink. I got a new sink that is lower than the previous one and Rooter Fast had to cut the vertical main pipe in the wall to make the stub out lower.  The first time David came out he stopped by because we could not use our kitchen sink.  He rigged up a temporary fix for a couple days until they could come back and fixed
it the way he wanted. He also snaked out a bathroom drain.  Did not charge for temp fix on the sink even though he used some of his own parts. They came out a couple days later and fixed the drain to their high standards They also noticed a leak from my dishwasher and redoped the fitting and tightened it up.  They automatically fixed it under the same service call.

FAQs for sewer main install, replace or repair projects in Smithville, MO

When installing a sewer line, you should consider extra costs like tree removal, driveway repairs, or patio resurfacing. Hiring a professional plumber is essential, and you may need additional specialists if landscaping or heavy excavation is involved. Addressing these potential extras up front helps ensure accurate budgeting and prevents sudden cost overruns.

To calculate the length of sewer piping you need, measure the distance from your house to the main sewer line, adding the depth of the city main to this distance. Be sure to account for any obstacles like tree roots or utility lines that may require additional piping.

City sewer lines are installed at a lower elevation to prevent unwanted backflow and water damage. This lower positioning ensures enhanced performance and long-term safety, meeting all technical and safety standards.

With trenchless methods, a plumber inserts a smaller pipe within the existing plumbing, avoiding full excavation. It can be more cost-effective and less disruptive than traditional methods, but it's not suitable for all homes.

Yes, you must secure permission from your local water authority before connecting to a public sewer line. This approval ensures your connection meets all regulatory requirements.

Sewer lines are buried between 18 inches and 8 feet deep, with most systems placed between 18 and 30 inches. In colder regions, pipes are set deeper to remain below the frost line.
