"I originally called Mr. Electric regarding a generator issue I was having. They stated it was likely because I had the connection set up at 30 amps instead of 50 amps. I subsequently asked them to come out and switch my set up from 30 to 50 amps. The technician came and installed one new 4 pole 50 amp breaker, about 6 feet of 6/4 wire, and a 50 amp inlet box. Total for materials when I looked them up online was less than $200. They charged me $884 total. That means they charged me $684 just for labor and the technician was only here for about half an hour. I looked up up the average hourly rate for electricians in my state and it averages about $70/hrs. Even if they charged me for a full hour of labor that means they charge almost 10X the normal rate. I don't know why they scammed be or if this is their normal MO but being a senior citizen this is a hit. AVOID THIS COMPANY!!"
