"Mr. Baker answered the phone the first time I called.  I did not have to leave a message and wait for someone to call me back.  He was very flexible with scheduling the estimate for a time that was convenient for me.  He came out at 8 am on a Saturday morning looked at the issue and immediately provided me with the estimate.  The work was then completed the following Wednesday, which was within four days of giving the estimate.  Did not have to wait a week or two to get the job done. <br /> With the help of an assistant, he took out the door and releveled the opening so that the door would close and lock properly.  This require the removal of some siding from the house as well as a little bit of the interior molding.  After the door was reinstalled, he spent a lot of time adjusting it to make sure the door closed securely.  It is now working better than before I had the issue.  The entire job took about 3 hours. <br />"

"<p>Jason has done several projects for us, big and small.  This time we had him come out to our rental property to do some various repairs, etc. </p> <p>Scheduling with Jason is easy - he's always willing to be as accommodating as his schedule allows.  He arrived on time with a helper.  We started discussing all the various things that needed to be fixed and/or looked at and they just jumped right in.  He is quick to figure things out and get them fixed.  But don't think his speed means poor quality - we have always received top notch work from Jason.  He just doesn't mess around when he's there to do a job.  </p> <p>All in all, we had about 15 things on our list.  From uninstalling a garage door opener, installing a new garbage disposal, minor painting, draining the water heater, and other various checks that need to be done for a new renter - they took care of it all.  And after we paid and they drove away, I noticed a support on the kitchen island that was not secured (which I did not see before or while they were there).  I quickly called his cell and explained what I saw - he happily came right back to take care of it.  Just goes to show what kind of guy you are dealing with.  </p> <p>I am sure we will be calling Jason again in the near future for more projects!<br /> <br /></p> <br />"

"Overall, the job went very well. The owner did the estimate very promptly. As soon as we were ready to have the work done, the work was scheduled and the Fish Window Cleaning crew showed up on-time and got right to work. We have many windows in our home with many different sizes. Our Family Room is a two-story room with large windows in the upper area. <br /> The crew did a great job inside and out. They worked quickly and without a lot of noise or mess. <br /> After the job was done, the owner sent me a Thank-You card, which was a nice touch, and also called a couple times to ensure that we were happy with the work. <br /> We were very happy with Fish WIndow Cleaning and will likely use their services again. <br />"

"They came out and repaired the door, however after they left we noticed it wasn't fixed. They replaced the screen but they didn't put it in correctly. The actual screen didn't fit the frame of the door leaving an opening/ or gap where the screen and frame meet together. <br /> <br /> My husband called because this issue needed to be resolved. The representative of this company agreed to come back out, but he said would come out sometime between Friday-Sunday but they never showed up. We left a few other messages and cannot get anyone to respond."

FAQs for door or window screens install or repair projects in Souderton, PA

Most off-the-shelf screens come in fixed sizes, ranging from 18 inches by 20 inches to 36 inches by 74 inches, which fit the vast majority of residential windows. If your opening falls outside that range or has a unique shape, you’ll need a custom screen built to the exact measurements. Going custom ensures a secure fit, a solid barrier against bugs, and a clean, finished look.

The decision to repair or replace your screen depends on the extent of the damage. Small holes or tears in otherwise solid mesh can be patched, and a sturdy frame usually doesn’t need to go anywhere. However, once the frame is bent or the mesh is brittle and fraying in several spots, replacement becomes a more sensible option—and often proves to be less costly in the long run. Take a close look at both parts before making a decision.

To rescreen a window, start by prying out the old spline, then lift the torn mesh from the frame. Lay the new screen over the frame, allowing about an inch of excess on all sides, and hold it in place while pressing fresh spline into the groove with a roller. Check that the mesh is taut—many pros rest a small brick on it while they work—then trim the overhang with a utility knife.

Most window screens last for 10 to 12 years. Time, sun, and weather gradually make the mesh brittle, so you’ll start to see sagging, rips, or thinning spots that let bugs get through. Check the screens each season; if the mesh crumbles or the frame warps, it’s time to replace them to keep air flowing and pests outside.

Most pros can swap out a screen in 10 minutes to an hour. A quick pop‑in replacement goes fastest, while fitting new mesh into an existing frame or working on a hard‑to‑reach upper window adds time. Either way, plan for at least a few extra minutes per screen so the installer can verify the fit and ensure the spline is seated correctly.
