"Myself and my father has used MJA Contracting for two roofs in our houses in Jersey City. Both times Manuel and his team has taken good care of us and installed good roofs. At first I thought the price was a bit high but after I saw the amount of time, material, and workmanship that they completed I thought the price was very fair. Roofs are alot of work as I learned. What I especially liked about Manuel is he did not go cheap and install a torch down rubber roof. He installed a rubber EPDM roof instead. If you have a flat roof, do yourself a favor and install a rubber EPDM membrane and make sure to contact Manuel. He also rebuilt our chimneys very good as well. Excellent masons! I guarantee you will not be disappointed!"

"I was very impressed with Sentri Homes - their customer service was excellent. They sent a subcontractor to install some vinyl laminate in my bathroom and he ended up getting glue all over the carpet in our bedroom. The sub ended up ghosting both me and Sentri, leaving me stuck with a ruined carpet. Sentri stuck with me for over a month to get the carpet replaced with the identical original and to get the vinyl job 100% completed. The carpet was a Home Depot exclusive and Sentri handled everything with them. I will be using Sentri for a much bigger renovation I have coming up soon, because I know that they will make sure everything gets done right no matter what problems come up. "My wife and I were very pleased with Tom from beginning to end of the project. We reached out to Tom thru the Velux Skylight website. Tom responded immediately and came over on a Sunday to look at our damage. He emailed the quote in a few days and we agreed to his terms. Tom and his helper replaced and repaired during very cold & windy weather. They did a fantastic and professional job! The skylight and roofing were installed perfectly and they cleaned up every scrap of debris from inside and outside our house. "I had water leak in the attic around vent pipes. I sent out quote requests to replace flashing/boots around all pipes. Victor called back next day and came over following day. He immediately went on roof, took pictures and showed me and gave a reasonable estimate. After agreeing, he immediately did the job. I was so impressed with his professionalism that next week I asked him to check water leak at one of the windows. He took out few sidings and put flashing to avoid water getting behind siding from roof. I have not noticed any leaks since completion of these jobs. He is very knowledgeable and I will definitely recommend him."

"Pellegrino Construction did an excellent job on our roof.  While it has only been a few weeks since completion, we are very pleased with the work.  Mike P. was very responsive and professional throughout and answered all of our many questions. We would definitely recommend them and use them again. 
We first had Mike come and assess whether we could repair a leak.  He indicated he could likely repair it for a reasonable cost, although there was no guaranty the fix would work,  He was the only roofer we saw who was wiling to try to fix the leak before replacing the roof.  He also explained why we would soon need a new roof and let us now that we could likely wait a year or two, with minimal risk (this was the consensus among the roofers we spoke to).   Among the roofers we spoke to, he did not oversell the need for a new roof and provided an excellent explanation of the various issues.  We decided to replace the roof now to be sure to fix the leak and not worry about a problem in the next year or two.  Mike was flexible on using the materials we desired (within the constraints of the mfr. warranty) and on timing.  Compared to the other roofers we spoke to, Mike's pricing was a positive as well. 
His team also cleaned up well and pointed out how they accidentally damaged an end cap on our deck.  Mike immediately repaired the damaged end cap and has been responsive after the  job as well in answering a question or two of mine.

"To many other roofers in the NYC Greater region- take note, Vandelay has you beat by quite a bit in terms of understanding a client and the particular needs of the job.  I went through a half dozen estimates and site visits; Vandelay and one other contractor where the only ones who were able to produce a timely, considered estimate.  And this was in the down season!
Regarding the job itself.  It presented several unknowns that Bob and his crew were able to work through and develop solutions to in a timely manner.  The demo went smoothly as well as the new installs and final flashing and chalking details.  At this point, the new roof has been through several storms and seems to be doing quite well.  If there is a problem, Bob seems more that capable to address per the contract, which I certainly appreciate.
Its clear he has a lot of experience doing what he knows, and doing it well.  He has good intuition and understanding of a job and the individuals and characters that might be involved, and how to work with them effectively (including myself likely :)
I've been through a couple of roof jobs at this point on various structures, and felt confident with Bob throughout the job; there were no instances that I felt were be minimized or neglected.  And importantly for a Condo building in NYC, Bob's crew made sure that they premise was CLEANER than when they left which is often a big deal with testy unit owners.
Overall, very pleased with both the estimation process, keeping on budget and timeframe and delivering a sound roof in material and craftmanship.  Highly recommended.

"We had inspections and estimates from four highly rated companies appearing on Angle's list and on other sites. Each provided a bid for the same work with similar or identical materials, and found a high degree of consistency among the bids. All four diagnosed the problem as requiring the replacement of the entire roof for the best and most lasting outcome and they proposed nearly identical steps to do the job. All recommended replacing two skylights along with the roof, adding ridge vents in sections where there were none, and noted the likelihood of needing to replace plywood decking in at least some areas. However, Paragon stood out from the others by virtue of the thoroughness of the initial inspection, including dozens of photographs from the exterior and interior (attic), and the care with which the proposed work (both foreseen and potential) was explained, described, and justified. Moreover, once the line of communication was established at the first visit, Mauricio remained available via email, text, and phone for any and all follow-up questions and concerns. The open communication continued through the scheduling, completion, and follow through of the project. Periodic updates, with step-by-step photos, were provided during the work. Such openness was very much appreciated in this situation where the end project was much more involved than originally thought. We had been advised in advance of what we could expect, so no really unanticipated situations arose. Working around the weather, the job was completed on Easter weekend, approximately a day and a half on site, and from our perspective the crew was careful, professional, and efficient. Care was taken to protect the property, and the clean up was very good. Everything went exactly as promised, and because the whole roofing "system" was installed by certified personnel, both a manufacturer's warranty and Paragon's guarantee will apply. I would not hesitate to recommend Paragon for roofing and skylight work, and since their services extend to other home improvement and remodeling tasks I would certainly contact them again for any other project we might need."
