"Very fast and efficient, I had a French drain installed along with a newer sump pump and backup pump that is battery powered so if I lose power can still keep it going. There is a problem with the secondary pump something inside wasn't right (not their fault) but they have been communicative and will come out to fix/replace it for me. Great people ! Steven and Wendell have been very helpful"

"They advice, and had all our questions answered on sensible and affordable options. Very knowledgeable, prompt, polite, efficient, and thorough team! We are happy with their waterproofing services in our basement (fast sump pump and a grate trench with a discharge line that goes 15 feet to the outside bubbler) as well as crawl space shield installed under our addition. It works well, and Pioneer checked a month later and a year after for inspection and cleaning. A+ work and workers."

"After this summer’s unprecedented rains, our sump pump system failed and our finished basement took on water. Most basement waterproofing companies we called told us they couldn’t handle our specific issue. Curt from Real Dry Waterproofing came within a few days of our call, inspected the system and diagnosed the problem quickly. He also explained it in a way that we could easily understand and designed a solution that is much more robust than what had been in place before. The Real Dry Waterproofing team installed a new system with backup, quickly and professionally, and at a reasonable cost. We are really impressed with the expertise of this team and we would recommend them to anyone with any kind of waterproofing problem."

"<ol> <li>Our experience began with a meeting with EF Winslow's Glenn Raymond.  The company's professionalism was on center stage immediately as Glenn arrived a few minutes early and was familiar with the background materials that had been prepared for the project.  During this initial review it was clear Glenn was attentive, open-minded, and a true expert in the plumbing field. Glenn provided thoughtful suggestions--such as using a different brand condensing boiler--which upon some research is a well known manufacturer, just more so in Europe.  He also carefully assessed the difficulties associated with working in a very old house (>200 years) and took into account the important details like not damaging the interior of the preserved home while installing panel radiators.  Glenn produced a well documented project cost estimate within a few days, and based on the fact the Glenn was the only bidder we had contacted  who actually demonstrated an understanding of the project and a willingness to install it as it was engineered (as opposed to suggesting a  different approach, which happens more frequently than one would logically expect), we hired E F Winslow.</li> <li></li> <li>With the project now completed and the system up and running it is difficult to offer the praise that E F Winslow deserves in a brief review.  However, it started with flexibility and good communication.  We elected to purchase the radiators ourselves as there was a discount provided to the engineer of the project.  E F Winslow was totally accommodating and we worked together to get the radiators on site and coordinate the project start date.  This process was quite smooth, pretty much all by e-mail with excellent responsiveness.</li> <li> The next major milestone was a pre-work meeting with the project leader, Bob.  Bob also came aware of the requirements of the project and spent well over an hour helping get the radiators into the house and reviewing all aspects of the installation (most of this work was done without any owner/engineer oversight).  After a thorough review and identification of all important decision points the project began as planned.</li> </ol> E F Winslow provided a spectacular, highly experienced team of no less than four persons to handle the installation.  One great aspect of this organization is that they have superb on-staff support from expert carpenters and electricians.  One team carefully worked on each radiator installation (nine total) and did an absolutely beautiful job getting from the basement up into the house often after notching small sections of 200+ year old sill (sill that is on a full foundation as system was installed in a full basement, which was critical for a proper job).  Each and every radiator came out excellent.  The electrician installed three different zone thermostats and when you look at the work you cannot imagine the care that was taken to only drill one small hole in the floor to snake the control wire up to the thermostat locations (including the second floor).  Not only competent mechanically, but quite artful at planning floor and ceiling penetrations and not impacting the interior of the house materially. <br /> They also were willing to work closely with us to allow pre-finishing of some exposed piping in order to avoid making some of the finishing work more complicated.  They were happy to stay a little late one day and work to get the job installed right the first time. <br /> The boiler installation is 100% perfect.  The layout of the piping is excellent and all the controls are set-up nicely so the system is very easy to monitor and work on as need be.  The person handling the boiler installation was very experienced and it was a pleasure to work with somebody that really cared about the work and how it was going to look.  It was so awesome we could not help but text a few pictures to some geeky friends given it was picture perfect. <br /> The start-up went off without any issues (it is important to note this job was completed over a two week time period with roughly 7-8 days of active work).  When we arrived at the house a day or two after completion the system was running perfectly and had been set-up exactly as had been discussed.  In summary, it is pretty difficult to work within preserved old homes and E F Winslow showed how well a project can go when experienced staff that know how to pay proper attention to detail work as a team.  "

FAQs for sump pump repair or replace projects in South Chatham, MA

Sump pumps last about 10 years with proper maintenance and prompt repairs. Several factors can influence your sump pump’s lifespan, such as usage, environmental conditions, and installation. Premium sump pumps with heavy-duty motors and quality components tend to last longer than lower-cost models. Pedestal sump pumps usually last longer than submersible models since they’re not constantly exposed to water.

A basement French drain is a drainage system installed in basements or around a building’s foundation to redirect water and prevent flooding. This system features a trench with a perforated pipe that catches and transports water away. These systems can crack, freeze, or clog, potentially resulting in flooding or strain on your sump pump.

You can use a sump pump in your yard to minimize pooling water and landscape damage, but it’s best used in conjunction with other drainage systems. This can include French drains, trench drains, underground downspouts, and other equipment. Proper lawn care, such as soil aeration and native plants, also aids with drainage.
