"Everything looks good after the work was done. I can finally close my bathroom door. I appreciated the fact that the foreman Erick Baez, went over what was done as they were done. I also appreciated that the two installers Manny Erickson and Jesus Villagomez also communicated with me after they were done to reassure that they did a proper job installing the jacks. Very good to know how the process was going. Great job."

"Everything went great!  The workers took great care in covering everything in plastic in the master bedroom so there was no dust or debris left from the demo portion. There was one tiny little hiccup where there was a small very unoticeable amount of damage done to the side of the tub during install they were able to fix it so you couldn't see it and still discounted the price of the tub. Jason the owner came by multiple times during the 2 days the crew was there to personally check on the job and make sure it was going well. I won't go to anyone else for my plumbing needs. <br />"

"The 2 crews that worked, were very professional, courteous and very hard workers. Thoroughly satisfied with the quality of work they performed. Bart-Architect, was "right-on" with the design and very open for changes. Shane-Hardscape Foreman, was awesome. His crew were very hard workers and very precise. Our paver walkway is PERFECT! Nick -landscaper foreman, was very knowledgeable & had a great personality. His crew were a "well oiled" team. They all had great sense of humors and very hard workers. Loved working with everyone..."

"<p>It was excellent. I have already referred them to a neighbor who is having a huge garage done. I  looked at, I'll bet, six companies. I have a redwood expansion joint and they were the only ones who could take  that out. They have a special epoxy they used in the hole to fill the expansion joint. Then they came out and finished the permanent epoxy. Their pricing is good and their responsiveness was fantastic. The lead installer has put in about 500 of these and he had an assistant with him that was training. These people were above board and call you back. They are polite and are ladies and gentlemen. They have a good product. His truck was immaculate. Everything was neat and he had a place for everything. </p>"

"Jeff and his crew were responsive, professional and punctual. Jeff helped me choose pavers that go great with the house. He added lights as an added project. The driveway demolition went well with great clean up. Jeff listened and addressed my concerns about the drainage of water under the driveway. The pavers have been installed since June 2017 and look great. They have not shifted as I feared with the clay soil. I would recommend Jeff and his crew for any paver installation project."

FAQs for basement drainage channels installation projects in South Lake Tahoe, CA

Expect a well-built French drain to last 30 to 40 years. By channeling both surface- and ground-water away from your foundation, the system relieves hydrostatic pressure and helps prevent costly structural damage. Choose a pipe with a quality cloth filter to keep sediment out and extend the drain’s life. A quick annual inspection and routine cleanouts will keep water flowing freely, ensuring the system continues to protect your home for years to come.

Most French drains sit two feet below grade, but depth ultimately depends on the problem you’re solving. For puddling rainwater or snowmelt, a shallow curtain drain at lawn level often does the trick. To handle rising groundwater, pros dig deeper, down to the footing, and run the pipe beneath the basement slab. A drainage contractor will determine the optimal depth for your specific soil conditions and water issues.

A properly installed interior French drain captures water at the slab, channels it to a sump pit, and directs it safely outside, preventing basement floods before they occur. Because the pipe sits just under the floor edge, a plumber can reach it easily for cleaning or repairs. Pairing the drain with a reliable sump pump gives you the best long-term protection.

Hire a contractor who installs drainage systems every day—typically a foundation specialist, drainage contractor, experienced landscaper, or plumber with waterproofing experience. These pros understand slope, soil, and local codes, and they have the equipment to trench safely around utilities. Ask for references and photos of recent jobs to be sure they can design a system that keeps water off your foundation for decades.

Once the drain is in, patch the yard by reseeding bare spots or replacing plants the crew removed. Inside, look for ways to add value—finishing the basement or upgrading interior waterproofing while the space is open often costs less now than later. Schedule a quick annual checkup to flush sediment and confirm the pipe and sump pump are clear. Consistent maintenance ensures the drain functions properly and protects your investment.

Most policies don’t cover the cost of repairing a French drain itself, but they may provide coverage for water damage if the system fails. Coverage varies by insurer, so be sure to read the fine print or contact your agent before any issues arise. If you live in a high-risk flood zone, consider a separate flood policy to close the gap. Knowing your coverage in advance helps you budget for repairs and avoid unexpected costs.
