"They weren't forthcoming about additional testing. Base inspection $299 then additional $400+ for lab testing. Wish I had known for vendor comparison purposes. However, I think it was worth it. Owner said the techs need to be instructed to say it was optional, but it helps you better understand the mold your dealing with. Glad I did it but not sure if it could have been done for less."

"As first-time homeowners, my husband and I are still adjusting to homeownership, and have been wary of potential problems before they get worse (and more expensive). Once we started to smell something slightly musty coming out of our bedroom wall (only when you put your nose close to the wall), we decided to look for a company who'd help us understand if this was a serious problem or not. Green Home solutions came out the next day, and Chris, the inspector, took a look at the interior walls and the perimeter. Since there were no visible signs, he wasn't concerned and suggested that we first purchase a dehumidifier and remove the mulch that was coming on very high and close to the foundation. And to call again if those efforts did not make the smell go away, and only then would they do an air quality test which goes for a few hundred dollars. Green Home Solutions isn't out for a quick buck -- it would rather have long-standing relationships. Hope their initial recommendation works, and would certainly recommend these folks to friends with mold concerns in their homes."
