"I hired Exterior Medics in October 2025 to replace a small six-step staircase. I was quoted nearly $13,000 and told permitting would take 3?4 weeks. I paid a 50% deposit via ACH (a mistake, since I wouldn't be able to later dispute the payment through a credit card issuer). Six months later, there is still no permit, no work, and no refund. After months of delays, I was told the permit had initially been filed with the wrong jurisdiction. Since then, I?ve received repeated assurances, flowcharts explaining the process, and promises that someone would follow up?none of which led to progress. When I requested my $6,443 deposit back, I was told my request had been ?escalated.? No one ever followed up. At this point, six months after paying 50% upfront, I have no staircase and no clear path to getting my money back."

"They first charged me an outrageous amount to figure out why my door was leaking and didn?t. They sent someone else to look at it. Who did figure out what was wrong . When they did come to fix the door, they did good work, but they charged me an outrageous amount of money to do it. They quoted me as having to rip up my whole deck to replace flashing. But when they came out to do it, they only had to pick up a couple boards .and redo the frame on a door and they charge me an astronomical amount of money. I am not happy. I will not be using them again. "

"This company is very shady and unethical. We selected them because of the price. It was substantially lower than other quotes received. The reason it was lower was because it wasn't accurate. With the dumpster in our yard, and the roofing materials delivered only then did they "discover" we also needed all new planking. We were prepared and budgeted for a $21,300 project. Suddenly we needed to come up with an additional $8,500 for the plywood. This was part of all the other roofer's quotes. When I voiced that I wanted to use another company they told me I signed a contract and they planned to enforce it. If I broke the contract I would have to give them 1/3. I had no choice but to cave. When I pressed on why this wasn't discovered until they started- they had no response. I was stuck and was forced to proceed (or walk away from $7,100). BEWARE!!! 6/25/2025"

"3 different companies reached out to me, EMJ was the first to respond and come out, quoted me a price, no pressure when I said I have 2 more companies coming out to give estimates, one company didn't want to do patch work, tried to sell me a whole roof, the other company came said I had a high roof they'll get back, left never heard back. My townhome is 3 stories high above ground, Luis was my contact from EMJ, he came out understood what I wanted, didn't pressure me into anything, we did the contract, unfortunately it rained all that week we had scheduled, but the first clear day, I got text from Luis saying the guys were at my home doing the work, I was at work myself...I thought that was cool. The customer service was excellent, responsive and NO PRESSURE! "
