"Jacob and Ethan from Blessed Electrical did an outstanding job for us. They were always courteous but more importantly they did great work, going above and beyond to make sure the job was done right. Could not be happier with the work that they did. By extension, we are very happy with the service that we received from Blessed Electrical. They were prompt in coming out to estimate the job, they were very efficient, and their prices are very reasonable. I would definitely work with them on future projects."

"Called about replacing electrical panel, Paul showed up and after inspecting the panel said that we did not need a new pane and did not charge anything for that visit. After explaining a couple electrical problems with plugs that 3 other electricians said they fixed and problems came back after they left. Paul had another one of his technicians come to the house a couple days later and do a complete system check and discovered that one circuit was wired incorrectly. He fixed the wiring and now everything works perfectly. Highly recommend HR Phoenix Electrical Services."

"Chris was a great service man. After a thorough inspection of my power panel, Chris found the problem of power surges and recommended I call ONCOR to fix the service to the house. One phase had burned through the rubber boot. ONCOR promptly came and reconnected the power properly."

"Two trucks arrived within an hour of me calling. They examined the situation and immediately went to work removing the destroyed electric equipment and getting replacement parts. within five hours they replaced the entire fuse panel, the external power meter, the tension pole on the roof and installed all new equipment including advanced surge protection to ensure the impact would be minimized if this ever happened again. They came back the next day to finish labeling the new fuse panel, checking outlets and even replacing outlets with GFCI to bring the house up to modern code. Absolutely amazing work, nice team, friendly. Could not be happier with the work they did."

"The panel replacement went way smoother than I expected, especially since they had to move it from a closet to exterior wall. We just bought the house, and it's a bit old, so it had a lot of malfunctioning light fixtures and old wiring. W3 took care of everything! I was very impressed with how thorough they were, in their work and in explaining everything to me. I also appreciated how professional they were; not in a stuffy way- just showing up on time and cleaning up and such. Seems like the really enjoy their work and take pride in it. I highly recomend W3 Electric!"

FAQs for electrical wiring or panel upgrade projects in Southlake, TX

While homeowners with substantial electrical knowledge might technically attempt a subpanel installation, most local building departments require permits and inspections for this type of work. Professional electricians understand local code requirements, can obtain necessary permits, and ensure the installation meets safety standards. Given the significant safety risks associated with incorrect electrical work, most homeowners benefit from hiring a licensed professional.

A standard subpanel installation takes an average of four to eight hours. This timeframe may extend if you're installing multiple subpanels or adding specialized circuits like those for spa equipment. Factors such as difficult access points, complex wiring paths, or permit processing times can also affect the overall project duration.

Adding a subpanel doesn't directly reduce electricity consumption or lower your utility bills. A subpanel simply redistributes power from your main panel to additional circuits. However, organizing your electrical system more efficiently may help prevent overloaded circuits and the associated problems. For actual cost savings, consider energy-efficient appliances and lighting instead.

The appropriate subpanel size depends on your specific electrical requirements. Consider the number and type of devices you'll be powering, potential future needs, and the capacity of your main electrical panel. An electrician can perform a load calculation to determine the most suitable amperage rating for your situation, ensuring you have adequate power without overpaying for unnecessary capacity.

A main electrical panel connects directly to your utility's power supply and contains your home's primary service disconnect. It distributes electricity throughout your entire house. A subpanel, by contrast, receives power from the main panel and redistributes it to a specific area of your home. Think of the main panel as the primary distribution point and the subpanel as a secondary branch that extends your electrical system's reach.

While electrical upgrades aren't as immediately visible as kitchen or bathroom renovations, they can contribute to your home's functionality and safety. Prospective buyers often appreciate updated electrical systems that can accommodate modern power demands. A properly installed subpanel that provides additional capacity for workshops, home offices, or future expansions could be an attractive feature for certain buyers, though the direct impact on home value varies by market.
