"My washer unit overflowed. The overflow shut off switch must have failed. The water flowed onto the carpet in the upstairs closet where the unit is located, spread across the carpet of the closet and into portions of the master bedroom, and down the walls into the kitchen located in the first floor.
When my wife heard the water, I ran upstairs to turn off the washer and to survey the damage.  I contacted Affordable Joe's, and the owner (Joe) said that the minimum charge for a team to get to me is $360 ($180 per hour for 2 hours) but he did give me a rough estimate of how much everything will cost based on what I told him over the phone.The eventual cost was $414, which was on the low end of the range.
I gave him the permission to send his crew, and Justin arrived a bit late. That's the only negative mark on the whole experience, but it was mitigated by the fact that. Justin was at another work site right before mine. Justin was careful, asking a lot of questions, and checking various spots on the carpet and the wall.  We agreed on what needed to be done.
Justin moved the washer unit around as needed to do the work. He wet vacuumed up the water from the carpet using the pump in the van, peeled back the carpet, wet vacuumed up the water from the padding, cut and peeled back the padding, and wet vacuumed the baseboard. He sprayed Microban (an anti-microbial spray) on the baseboard and carpet, and put an industrial fan to blow the air over night.
He opened up the electrical socket housing in the kitchen and did not feel any water. He didn't want to rip into the wall without a good reason, so he also advised me on how to pull back the cabinet downstairs to check the wall. This saved me money. I was able to do the check myself the following day, and the wall was completely dry.
This was a good experience for me, despite the high stress of having a washer flooding the closet and having a potential mildew fiasco. So kudos to Affordable Joe's.

A water line had sprung a leak in the ice maker, dumping a large volume of water on the floor, under the cabinets, into the wall, everything was just soaked. I was pleased to get an immediate answer on the phone when I called San Diego Water Damage & Remediation Services. They quickly calmed me down, and had a specialist in my home within an hour. I was surprised to see how quickly they were able to assess the damage and get started drying things out. I was also surprised that the owner of the company, Rafael arrived at my home a few hours later to personally check on the progress of the job. Rafael checked in almost daily to make sure things were progressing smoothly, which I really appreciated! After several hours of clean-up, and thankfully finding no mold, the team had installed an array of specialized drying equipment, including one specially designed for hardwood floors. I was very concerned that the flooring would have to be replaced, driving up the cost. Fortunately that was no problem! After several days my floors, walls, and cabinets were *completely* dry. I've been through water remediations in the past and I've never seen a more thorough or complete job. These folks use these amazing IR cameras and water sensors to literally pinpoint the spots that are still the tiniest bit damp and reposition the equipment in just the right spots to dry them out. When they left I was totally confident that my house was completely dry! Overall I was extremely impressed with the professionalism, responsiveness, and dedication to customer service that the entire San Diego Water Damage & Remediation Service team provided. "On August 20, A.J. came over to my house to do a host of things that needed to be done that were beyong my home skills.  A.J. had scheduled 8am for us and came over at around 7:40. He immediately got to work putting in our bathroom ligh/fan in the master bathroom. He then slowly worked his way around to the kitchen area replacing all the towel racks in the bathrooms, which were improperly installed.  
  Next he installed a water line to our new refridgerator, he did stop for about 30 mintues to run to the local hardware store to pick up some items needed for the installation.  When he got back he explained clearly what he did and why he needed to get parts.  After that he worked his way to the downstairs laundryroom/bathroom to fix towel racks there and then worked his way outside to figure out the outdoor lighting system above my garage.  When that was done, I had but a 1/2 hour left of his time so I had him hang some pictures in the living room.  Out of my "to-do"list for him he got about half done, and that was really good since I thought I bathroom fan and water line woudl take all day!
  At the end of the work day, A.J. and I talked about my back deck and the repairs that were needed to be done before the wet winter would come.  I was so impressed with his work that day I went ahead and scheduled another time for him to come back and refurbish my deck.   A.J. clearly demostrated professionalism and courtesy, in everything.  I am happy I found him when I did."
