"My partner and I chose Blackstone Kitchen and Bath for our kitchen remodeling project. We had received four other quotes from contractors and after much deliberation, we chose Blackstone. This group did not offer us the cheapest or the most expensive quote (they were more the "middle of the pack"), but we chose them because we felt they offered good value and were honest about required permits. In the beginning we worked with Joe - he worked on the design of our kitchen and we were pleased with the number of options he presented us, despite us feeling as though we knew what we wanted. Even though we had a plan in mind, we ended up choosing one of Joe's designs. We were pleased with the overall organization at the beginning of the process. The company uses buildertrend.com to manage and communicate with the customer about the project. It was easy to sign a contract with them and start the remodel. As the project continued, we worked with three other people - Justin (project manager), and Saul and Marcus (builders). We were extremely pleased with the quality of work by Saul and Marcus. Every day they came they were pleasant, respectful, and worked hard to get the job done. They were very professional and always left the house nice and clean after their days work. They were great about communicating any issues to us, and very willing to go above and beyond for us. I would recommend Saul and Marcus for your project! Joe and Justin's communication was quick and their responses were timely. We did however have issues during our project that had occurred more than once. We had a wrong cabinet ordered, resulting in a wait to re-order the correct one and to install it. Our backsplash was ordered incorrectly, and our cabinet hardware was also ordered incorrectly, causing a delay in this project. Justin was good about re-ordering supplies, but we did have to communicate our issues quite frequently about the erroneous ordering. We also had an issue with things not being done accurately - we were told by one manager that we could have a certain floor piece but another manager said we couldn't. When we decided not to do this, the floor slab was still ordered anyway. We had miscommunication about the electric work - it was a "he said this" and "the other guy said that" - no one spoke to us, the homeowners, before completing that part of the project. Overall here are our pro/cons: Pro: great workmanship, professional staff, Saul and Marcus were absolutely wonderful, project finished within time-frame presented, timely response from management when there was an issue Cons: a little costly, contract is very broad and costs are not broken down too much (aside from cabinetry, backsplash, faucet, and countertops) so there are some blurred lines when it comes to covering the cost of certain issues that popped up during our project, difficulties with getting the correct things ordered causing delay in project, some disjointed communications"

"after seeing their website, I contacted them for a quote regarding a built-in bookcase I wanted for my living room. They responded quickly and a meeting was soon arranged. Upon meeting Tea and George, it  was immediately clear they were knowledgeable about their craft and easy to work with. "We hired KBR Bethesda to completely do-over our guest bathroom and make updates to our master bath. We were very happy with the process of working with KBR from Sim’s initial visit to our home through completion of the work and thrilled with the results. In the guest bath, KBR removed the 27 year-old soffit fluorescent lighting; installed new vanity lighting; an additional outlet, replaced the vanities, vanity counter, tub and floor tile, tub, toilet. The vanities , counters and tiles they have to choose from are high quality and offer a good range of choices. In the master, they replaced the same soffit lighting; replaced the vanities and counter; installed new outlets (including one inside the tower cabinet between the two sinks); removed a medicine cabinet and repaired the wall. They replaced all the plumbing fixtures, vent fans in both baths and painted both rooms. Douglas and Carlos, our two primary workers, arrived early each morning and worked tirelessly all day, cleaning up at the end of each day. They made sure to consult with us on discretionary things, such as the placement of grab and towel bars. We cannot recommend KBR highly enough. Their price was fair and the quality of their work excellent."

"Great! He arrived on time, with the right amount of crew, tools and positive attitude! He was very experienced with Ikea cabinets and knew when we had purchased the wrong items. He also knew when to send me back to Ikea for different parts. Ikea made alot of mistakes and he knew that was common. He wrote down the numbers of the items i needed which was extremely helpful. He and his crew were fantastic and i would hire him again in the future. His prices were very reasonable and i appreciated that. I had two glass doors that were on back order so he said i could hold back $200 from his pay until they czme in. I called him on Sunday and told him i just picked them up. He told me they would be there on Monday morning to finish the job. Of course he arrived on time and he finished the job quickly. Of the 4 companies i hired to do various things in my kitchen his was the only one i didnt have issues with. I asked him to install the lights inside and underneath the cabinets and install the microwave. The lights were difficult but he worked hard until they were done. They make the whole kitchen shine! He was extremely reasonable with the microwave installation price. I asked him for several cards and already passed them out to people that wanted a new kitchen i told them he is the best installer i ever hired. He made this overwhelming project so much easier."

Everything went very smoothly.

Each person involved with the process knew what he was doing: the salesman, the man who measured and made the template, the fabricator and the installer. They were all very professional, attentive to detail and punctual. The entire process was very streamlined and easy. It looks beautiful.

They also did my daughter's kitchen counters and sink a few years ago and her project came out beautiful as well.
