Customers say: Quick response

"Isaacs is a true professional who obviously loves and takes pride in his work. He first provided a free estimate, coordinated a installation date with us, and arrived on said date on time and ready to go to work. When I suggested a different river rock than planned and an alternative supplier he had never worked with, Isaacs was very open to the suggestion and went to that source to ensure we were satisfied with the end result. He also suggested the material for the retaining wall which turned out beautiful. We plan on using Delgado Landscaping in the future and would recommend his company to anyone needing such work."

"We had a difficult time setting up a time to meet and discuss options at first. However, once we were finally able to meet, things went smoothly. TJ was able to see my vision of the backyard almost before I was ever able to explain what I wanted. Work began soon after and was done quickly. It looks great and the ?dry creek? they created along the fence has been a lifesaver with the recent rains!"

"I am 100% satisfied. Lewis responded quickly to my request for a flooring installer. He made his work proposal very clear. He offered a good price which he did not change at the end of the job. Lewis worked in a precise manner and completed the work within the proposed timeframe. He kept me informed during each phase of the project. He respected timing and always gave me a heads-up as to his arrival, lunch break or leaving for the day. Lastly, Lewis exhibited a level of integrity and honesty that allowed me to feel comfortable while he was in my home. I would recommend Sissi Construction; a true representative of standard and quality."

"In 2013 I was out of town on a trip. My wife called in a panic because water was coming in through a crack in the basement wall. We had lived in the house for 20 years with no issues. Recently we had new sidewalks poured which disrupted the water flow from the house. This caused water to seep back into the foundation. The Leaky Cellar came the next day and provided a fair estimate and repaired. When I returned home I was very pleased with the work, timeliness, and price they charged. A less reputable company could have taken advantage of the situation. Recently we had the annoying water seepage in our stone foundation. The Leaky Cellar proposed various options to address the situation. They recently installed interior drains. The men were very professional and answered all my questions. For a messy job, they left the basement in good shape. I was very pleased with the work, price, and professionalism. I would recommend them to a friend."

"We needed a fair amount of landscaping done around our home including pulling some old shrubs, planting new, creating mulch beds, and getting grass in a couple of trouble spots.  Moser was very quick to reply to our initial inquiry and come out to provide an estimate.  I was initially impressed with the responsiveness.  He provided us with an estimate on the work and we didn't really shop it around.  The prices seemed fair and so we went ahead with the work.  They did some new mulch beds around the large trees and replanted some new shrubs and laid new sod in a couple of areas.  In addition to the shrubs they recommended a couple of spiral cut junipers on either side of the entryway to our front door.  The initial work looked great.  I was very happy with the work at that point and I even fired the company that had been mowing my lawn for years and hired Moser even though they were more expensive.  I thought they would do a better job of maintaining my lawn given the newly laid sod and landscaping.
Perhaps my expectation was too high.  Within a few weeks I noticed that the spiral junipers didn't look as good.  When I contacted Moser with my concern he told me to be sure I was watering them because they were positioned slightly behind the drip line of the overhanging front porch.  Keep in mind that Moser also had to make some adjustments to my irrigation system as part of the landscaping work.  I started hand watering the junipers but they continued to fade.  Once I started watering them by hand and looking more closely I noticed that there were still some plastic bands on the trees that seemed to be constricting it.  Assuming these were put on at the nursery and someone should have cut them off.  But regardless, I thought that I caught it soon enough that it wouldn't cause long term damage.  For whatever reason they never recovered.  They slowly died and after a few more months were beyond saving.  I continued to text Moser and once we realized they were beyond saving he asked me if we purchased the warranty.  I said "I have no idea.  We went through you for everything and no one ever discussed a warranty."  Apparently the 1 year warranty was never purchased.  He said he would "make it right" and offered to replant new ones at no cost for labor.  I would just have pay another $600 for the trees.  Once I knew the warranty should have been an option in the first place I wasn't very happy with this offer and expressed that to him.  I never did hear back on a resolution.  I even ended up having to dig them up and throw them away on my own as they became dead b******** sores.
Meanwhile, his team kept mowing each and every week. They did a pretty good job mowing and I was happy with the quality.  But again, it sure would be nice if the same company mowing the yard each week would notice problems in the landscaping work that they did (even though I realize it was probably different crews).
There were also a couple of other small issues that I noticed after the initial work was done that never got tended too.  One of the sprinkler heads that they moved was coming up out the ground at an severe angle and I asked about it a couple of times and to this day it hasn't been adjusted.  There was a strange dead spot that appeared in the newly mulched area after about a month or so and I pointed it out to him and asked him to fix it if he could, and as far as I know nothing has ever been done to it.  The dead spot still remains. And I also noticed more of those plastic bands on 2 of the other trees they had planted for me (which still seem to be doing ok).
In summary, initial work was very good ... but follow-up, attention to detail, and responsiveness were severely lacking thereafter.

FAQs for sod installation projects in Spring Hill, KS

Seeding costs less up front, but you’ll wait months—and sometimes a full season—for the grass to fill in. Sod costs more per square foot, yet it gives you an instant, usable lawn the day it’s installed and needs far less care during the first year.

If speed and early curb appeal matter, the higher sod price is often worth it; if you’re watching every dollar and don’t mind the wait, seed can still be a smart play.

Start by sketching your lawn and breaking it into rectangles or circles. Measure each section, multiply length by width, and then add all the sections together for the total square footage. Standard sod rolls are two feet by 1.5 feet, and one pallet covers 450 square feet.

Divide your total area by 450 to see how many pallets you need, then round up—extras come in handy for cutting around curves or mistakes. Still unsure? A local sod supplier or installer can confirm your math before you order.

Most sod grips the soil within 10 to 14 days. During that stretch, keep foot traffic to a minimum and mow only if the grass gets tall. After two weeks, the roots should be strong enough for light use, but wait six weeks before heavy play or frequent mowing. Giving the grass that short honeymoon helps it anchor firmly and sets the stage for a durable, healthy lawn.

Give your new lawn two full weeks before any foot traffic, then stick to light use only. Hold off on vigorous play, parties, or regular mowing until the six-week mark so the roots can dig deep. Keep watering on schedule and watch for any dry patches. A little patience now means stronger turf and fewer repairs later.

Keep an eye on color, moisture, and even growth. Fresh sod should stay uniformly green; brown spots or gaps hint at dry soil or poor contact. Water deeply at least once a day for the first week (more in hot weather) and back off gradually after the roots take. Avoid heavy foot traffic until the grass feels firmly anchored. Quick attention to trouble spots now prevents costly patches later.

Aim for spring or early fall when daytime temps hover between 55°F and 80°F. Mild weather and consistent moisture help the roots knit quickly. Laying sod in midsummer can stress the grass, while frozen winter soil blocks rooting altogether.

If you must install outside the ideal window, budget extra time for watering and tending to the turf. Choosing the right season makes the job easier and the lawn tougher.
