Small jobs welcome

"I thought he did a good job explaining what he did do but very disappointed they didn't explain that you had to pay a lot extra money to actually find out what kind of mold if any you had. The $199.00 fee they only looked for mold & tested the air quality. If they found any mold it cost a lot more to find out what type. He did say we had mold in our crawl space but not what kind, that cost more money. Overall good for what he did do."

"I reached out in the morning after my plumber repaired a water line that burst. Joel arrived that afternoon and immediately got the drying process started. We were able to get the affected area fully dried within 4 days and avoided major demolition. I was pleased with the professionalism, communication, quality of work and good outcome. Would work with them again."

"We didn't hesitate to accept his quote. The company was very professional, courteous & thorough. They went above & beyond their scope of work, even vacuuming the floor, rafter-webs, and the basement staircase, aside from providing superior work eliminating the mold. Great job, Billy & team!"

"I like dealing with them but they did have to come back and finish their wall. They did not do a very good job on the wall and had to come back and repair that. Other than that, I thought they did a pretty good job and they were thorough in making sure that the mold, we only had a little bit mold, but they made sure that the mold was taken care of. They did come and fix it which I thought was good. They did not give my any hassle about it."

"Brian's tream showed up on time. And did MORE work than what we asked of them, he wanted to be sure the job was done completely/correctly and that I have a chance to feel good. The basement was sealed off around the door. They bagged removed all of the carpeting from the basement. They manually sanded/cleaned all of the beams in the basement. Then used a clear sealant to encapsulate the mold after cleaning. Cut sheetrock at 4' so it'll be easy to replace. They replaced all of our insulation in the basement as some of it was probably contaminated. While all of this is going on they used very high end and quot;Phoenix Guardian Hepaand quot; air scrubbers to ensure anything that does go airborne is captured. I did some reading, and the scrubbers they use are of the best in the industry designed for mold remediation. They're big, but they capture very small particles and move a lot of air. <br /> Also they did all of this while having to move the stuff I couldn't get out of the basement. Very heavy (100+lbs) PA speakers, desks. All of this stuff was moved without any issues. <br /> I also had his wife's cleaning company come in and vacuum the house with water filtering hepa grade vacuums. They vacuumed all of the door frames, windows, blinds. They cleaned everything as best they could (our house was torn apart; literally). So it was difficult to clean the upstairs... <br /> They removed the squirrels nest from the attic (I had no idea they were even going to do this) cleaned the mold off of the siding in the attic. <br /> Then last they fogged the entire house including the attic. And they did all of this with green/organic mold killers. No toxic chemicals, no poisons. This was very important to us as we have a 4mo old baby in the house. He uses a product called and quot;molderizerand quot;, which is very effective when used correctly (as they did). I checked the MSDS on the product and the active ingredient is and quot;hydrogen peroxideand quot; which I found is what they use in medical industry to sanitize surgical rooms/hospital clean rooms using vaporizers (foggers). <br /> --- <br /> After remediation I had the air testing company (Flappan consultants; read review on them) come back out and do air sampling. Unfortunately the day they came the HVAC guys had the ductwork torn apart and air was coming in from the attic through the vents of the entire house. This is when I learned air testing for mold is tricky, and VERY small things can toss everything off (like attic air blowing in). Unfortunately we failed the air test in every room. Brian was really concerned and so was the air testing company. We agreed to meet the next business day. Everyone was there on time; and they talked over what might have happened and they went over the entire remediation again. No one could find a fault but the HVAC guys letting attic air into the house. Since the house had been sitting for 3-4 days without attic air infiltrating they ran air tests again... This time we passed in the basement! Lower than the outside air, and that says a lot since it's almost winter and mold counts are low. <br /> If you're looking for an honest, *caring*, hard working company who's prices wont leave you broke. Dog Gone Mold is the place to call. Brian really knows his stuff and loves to share his knowledge. They did great work and they stand behind it! <br />"

FAQs for mold & toxic material test projects in Spring Hill, KS

Some companies offer a no‑cost phone or video consultation that screens for red flags. If the discussion points to a real issue, the pro will recommend a paid on‑site inspection. The complimentary call clarifies whether you need full testing, but it isn’t a substitute for samples, lab work, or a written report. Always confirm what the free service covers before you schedule.

A standard inspection, which includes basic air and surface samples, takes an average of two hours. If the pro needs to probe hidden spaces, such as wall cavities or ductwork, plan on up to six hours. Extra time allows the inspector to reach tight areas, collect additional samples, and document findings. Lab analysis is a separate process and often adds several business days to the overall timeframe before you receive the full report.

Mold thrives where moisture lingers and air flow is poor. Common hotspots include bathroom walls, kitchen backsplashes, window sills, HVAC vents, fireplaces, crawl spaces, and enclosed attics. Check these areas regularly—especially after leaks or high‑humidity weather—to catch growth early and avoid costly repairs.

Unchecked mold can knock 20% to 37% off a home’s market value because buyers worry about hidden damage and health risks. Even after remediation, visible staining or a history of major moisture issues can still lower offers and prolong the time on the market. Addressing mold quickly protects both your property’s structural integrity and its resale appeal.
