He arrived with a complete package/brochure which included a letter of introduction and an unsolicited list of references of work completed within our local area. Randy was very patient with us in trying to decide whether to use cedar or pressurized wood to support the deck as well as our seasonal porch. On the first day of work, a three man crew arrived with Brandon as the lead team member. The crew was very professional, knowledgeable, and quiet as they worked for the next five days. They were extremely tidy in cleaning up during and after the work product was installed. We would definitely use their services again and recommend them to others. A job very WELL DONE!"

"Dupont was so extremely patient with us as we had wanted to wait to build the deck due to COVID affecting the world last year. So we waited until this year to build the deck. We also went back and forth on designs and they were very accommodating and worked within our budget make the needed changes. I can honestly say that they did an absolutely amazing job on the project. Communication was great as well. They had built a large cedar upper level deck with stairs. It came out beautifully and was built so sturdy I am sure it could easily survive a hurricane or maybe a tornado. They are truly customer first organization and that is rare to see nowadays. Also I very very rarely leave reviews, but we had such a good experience with them I just had to do it! Do not hesitate to go with Dupont Construction."

"Proficient did a great job building our new maintenance free deck. They responded very well from our first call and throughout the whole process. As soon as the weather allowed they removed our old deck and started on the new one. There was a challenge in locating one of the new posts as it came right in to a retaining wall. They removed the wall, added the support post and rebuilt the wall. Better than before. The whole crew was friendly and great to deal with."

"We hired Spartan to remodel our bathroom. And I should start by saying that I am (not really, but jokingly) reluctant to write this glowing review, for fear that I will have to share these guys with lots of new clients and I won’t have them all to myself for my next project! Haha :) We didn’t have a ton of money to throw at our bathroom so I was worried that they would not take the job, or take it seriously. Well they not only treated this job (I think) the same as they would a $70k kitchen remodel, but they also did small things to help us stay within our budget, such as letting me buy the materials when I could get them cheaper, and they were even willing to let another contractor do part of the job if they were lower cost. (That ended up not being necessary but how many places would willingly do that?!) We had them rip out the old floor (plus like four layers of linoleum added over the decades!) in the bathroom and hallway, knock out a wall to merge a closet with the bathroom, move the sink, move some electrical, install a new sink and lights and put the new floor in and paint etc. It turned out gorgeous and the bathroom is (perhaps sadly!) now the classiest room in my house. :) The main person you will deal with for sales and project management is Mike. He has a calm (and calming) disposition and is careful with his estimates so as not to promise things that can’t be done, while also suggesting things that I had not thought of. The ones who actually did the work were Paul and Dave. Dave is trained as a cabinet maker and as such is an expert craftsman. He was the “brains” behind our remodel, so he will not only know the best way to accomplish what you want to do, but he will see to it that it is executed perfectly. Paul did a lot of the actual day to day work and was the one I dealt with most often. He is the one that made sure everything actually got done and finished all the way to the end, including the less “fun” parts like sanding, painting and cleanup. He is friendly and approachable with a great sense of humor, and fun to talk with. I really can’t say enough good things about these guys. I enjoyed their personalities as well as the quality of their work, not to mention the way they tried to make sure everything was possible with our small budget. Granted the project did exceed our original budget but that is because I was having so much fun tearing things apart we decided to add to the project scope! Now that it is done, I am already planning and saving up money for 3 other projects I have in mind for them next. I have found my contractor of choice and will call them for everything from now on. They will probably be sick of me soon. :) I also own my own business so from my experience, I think the couple of the so-so reviews I saw on here are from anxious customers who expect contractors to be mind readers and will accept nothing less than 100% perfection in all things — there are people like that, but I am not this way (and by the way neither is the world we live in!). Just treat them like a friend who is doing some work, and they will do the same for you! Again, I sort of don’t want to share them ;), but if you are looking for an honest, reasonably priced, good quality company to do some work on your house, you should absolutely consider Spartan. It matters to them that you are happy, they do great work, won't leave you hanging for months and months to finish (like some of those horror stories you hear), and they will be honest in their dealings with you. You will not be disappointed!"

"As many of you know--finding a reputable home improvement company can be quite a challenge. We had some major projects to do in our yard and initially reached out to multiple companies requesting bids on building a 40 x 10 foot pergola, repairing a cedar fence and staining another major structure in our yard. Our experience in contacting home improvement companies was so disappointing. Inaccurate bids, no shows, and people showing up that presented themselves as home improvement companies but didn’t know what the heck they were doing. The only company that took the time to provide frequent consultation, accurate estimates, multiple visits to our property and consistent follow-up was Twin City Handyman! The entire staff was attentive to our needs and the projects were well done and completed on time. "We hired Olson Construction this summer for a major project, a replacement of three large decks and a screened-in porch on our home. It was obvious from the beginning that working with Nick Olson was the right way to go. We started with three quotes on this project. The first two quotes were done by salespeople for their company's construction crew (people whom we'd never see again), whereas Nick did the quote for his own company. The other bids were also crazy high, clearly a "big house, big bid" bloated price. Nick's bid was fair and just what we expected, and he updated us on cost changes along the way, which were minimal given the size of the job. Even during the busy summer season, as the owner, Nick was on site most days, and working alongside his crew, which was greatly appreciated, and showed a lot of pride and commitment to the job. Timeliness and communication were stellar; Nick and his crew were on time or updating us on changes in timeline along the way. Throughout the job, he checked in with us when anything arose that required a change in plan, instead of just forging ahead. He responded to any texts/calls/questions or concerns quickly and thoroughly. Communication is something that can make or break a relationship with a contractor, and Nick understands this better than any contractor I've worked with. Beyond our own questions, he even checked in on his own to ensure that we were happy with the project along the way. Nick's crew was courteous and respectful, and cleaned up the site at the end of the day. There was a minor paint spill, and Nick and the crew ensured that this was cleaned up well. Nick also ensured that details like replacement of the gutters after the job was done properly, and actually improved upon their flow and function. It was clear that Nick and the entire crew wanted us to be happy with the project, and took pride in their work. The outcome of the job was fantastic - we love our new decks, and look forward to enjoying them for years to come. We had an Azek deck with composite/aluminum railing installed, but whether it would be composite or wood deck, or any other job, Olson construction would be a great hire. As projects come up in the future, Olson construction will be our first call."
