"John did an A++ job - I had called several other contractors whose estimates were three times higher and the quality of John's work was superior. My homebuilder had installed the front porch stonework over the top of the decking, so it was not an easy job and involved carefully removing the old decking to install the new deck. What I was most impressed by though is that John was focused primarily on what would be most cost effective for me. When he reworked the stairs, he figured out a way to do them so that we could retain the vertical stonework while not costing s fortune. John went with me to compare decking products and made sure that my investment was a good one. I would not hesitate to use Omni services again in the future.

"Seymour and his team are some of the most courteous, professional, kind people I have dealt with in a long time. They worked quickly and cleanly to install a wonderful new whole house fan in my home. They made the best of a difficult situation in dealing with old wiring from a prior DIY fan install and removal. The condition of that old wiring caused them to have to make several service calls within one week shortly after they installed the new fan. On each visit, without exception, the person responding to the service call was prompt, thorough, and pleasant. Let me emphasize that the problems requiring the service calls were due to old wiring and not due to any fault on the part of Weatherseal (Atticfan.com). The folks from Weatherseal (Atticfan.com) have been absolutely fantastic to deal with. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Now that all the kinks in the old wiring have been addressed the fan is running beautifully, and is truly amazing. I wish I had called Weatherseal (Atticfan.com) years ago. Plus, it is great peace of mind knowing how responsive the folks from Weatherseal (Atticfan.com) are to their customers, how hard they work to achieve customer satisfaction, and how well they stand behind their work!"

"Overall a great experience, the system on the vacation home is working great! Jake helped guide us through the solar buying process and effectively explained all the benefits without pressuring us into buying anything we weren’t comfortable with. Definitely would work with him again."

"I was moving into a new house and needed several varied projects done, and Joe and Mary Jane were able to do all of them, and did them all very well. They came to meet me to give me an estimate the very day I called, and scheduled work to start within about a week of their estimate. They were very respectful of my time and as several things changed (because I added work, or changed my mind about something) they were great to accommodate me. They finished within their suggested timeframe and their price, making adjustments as needed. I would definitely hire them again, and will do so for upcoming  work I need to have done. Highly recommended!"

FAQs for electrical wiring or panel upgrade projects in Stoneham, CO

Yes, a licensed electrician is essential for this project. Running an electrical service from the road to your house involves connecting to utility power lines, complying with national and local electrical codes, and safely handling high-voltage systems.

Licensed professionals understand proper wire sizing, grounding requirements, and voltage drop calculations needed for safe installation. Most jurisdictions require permits and inspections that only certified professionals can obtain. The safety risks and potential for property damage make this project inappropriate for DIY attempts.

Overhead installations are less expensive than underground options. For a 1000-foot run, overhead service costs between $8,000 and $15,000, while underground service ranges from $10,000 to $25,000.

Overhead lines require less labor and fewer materials since they don't need trenching or conduit. However, underground lines offer better protection from weather events and aesthetic benefits. Your decision should balance your budget constraints with long-term reliability and visual preferences.

You might need to upgrade your electrical panel depending on your power requirements. If your existing panel cannot handle the additional load from the extended service, upgrading to a 200-amp service (costing $750 to $2,000) may be necessary.

A licensed electrician can evaluate your current system and determine if an upgrade is required. Factors include what you'll be powering at the end of the line, existing electrical demand, and whether voltage drop over the distance will affect performance.

Running electric service from the road to a house requires electrical permits from your local building department, costing between $500 and $2,000 depending on your location. You may also need excavation permits for trenching work if installing an underground service. Your utility company will have its own application process for connecting to its grid. A licensed electrical contractor can handle all the necessary permit applications as part of their service, ensuring your installation meets all local code requirements.
