"The project included windows and doors replacement, exterior trim, and rain gutter installation. Project was done efficiently and expeditiously. Contractors for all work were very hard working and conscientious, concerned to address my needs and questions. Project manager AJ Smith saw an issue that didn’t meet his standards and immediately and personally rectified it. Very pleased with the end result."

"The bonus room, above the garage, was the coldest place in the house in winter, and the hottest in summer.   Air was coming in through the trim/baseboard, and the sub-floor itself was very cold in winter.  The goal Omni Services (OS) and I agreed to was to provide a year-round comfortable space.  As a consumer, I wanted the room to be "air tight" but OS could not guarantee that.
In preparation for the bonus room work, I removed the trim, carpet and pad for later re-use, and cut out (as best I could) some agreed-on 4x8 and 4x12 sections of the existing drywall, so we could see what was going on inside the walls and ceiling.  The scope-of-work document had Omni Services (OS) removing the sub-floor as well, to check out the insulation beneath it, but ultimately OS didn't deem that necessary, as they found a different way to add insulation. [So in hindsight I removed the carpet and pad unnecessarily.]
OS determined:
  a. the ceiling insulation was wrong for the space (R30 was crammed in, R19 should have been used)
  b. the roof above the bonus room (2x8 boards between the ceiling and the roof) had insufficient  ventilation
  c. there was insufficient insulation in the garage attic (adjacent to the bonus room) that was a continuation of the roof above the bonus room

What OS did for the ceiling:
  a. removed the R30 from most of the ceiling
  b. installed "proper vent"  (a way for air to flow between the lower and upper parts of the roof) where the R30 had been
  c. replaced the R30 (that was removed) with R19
  d. added some exterior ventilation (around the gutters and in the garage attic) to allow more air into the "proper vent"
NOTE:  I had a roofing company install ridge-cap ventilation above the bonus room; OS's work was pointless without that

What OS did for the garage attic adjacent to the bonus room:
  a. install foam board insulation over the sloping area (continuation of the bonus room roof, into the attic)
  b. spray in more insulation
What OS did for the sub-floor:
  a. accessed the underside of the sub-floor from either the garage attic or the limited space between the bonus room walls and the ceiling (which continued downward into the garage attic)
  b. sprayed in more insulation
THE BAD: Once the drywall was replaced, taped, etc., and before the trim was put back on, there was still significant airflow into the room, where the drywall met the sub-floor.  I had not expected this, nor had OS.  I "fixed" this by using a combination of low-expanding foam from a can, leftover fiberglass insulation, and drywall mud.  Air was also coming in from the drywall holes cut for the electrical boxes, but styrofoam covers fixed that.
What OS did for the main attic stairs (accessible from the bonus room):
  a. manufactured a cover using leftover foam board and other materials
  b. installed the cover above the pull-down attic stairs
  c.  sprayed in more insulation in the attic, in the area around the new cover
What OS did for the doors:
After I removed the trim from the French doors, OS replaced one of the doors, which had warped.  I painted the door, then OS reinstalled the trim.
BOTTOM LINE:  We do not yet know whether the bonus-room goal was met.   We won't know until we have a string of really hot days, and another string of really cold days.

"Regan Renovation was recommended on line. I met Mickey and we agreed on a price and what work I needed done, including some wood repairs. Mickey did a fantastic job of painting the exterior of my house. Mickey painted the front of my house and did not feel the color was correct so he took the time to go back and have the paint remixed and to repaint it. He is determined to do it right. It just went on the market and the buyers who are putting bids in on the house appreciate the quality and attention to detail that was taken. Two neighbors are interested in talking to Mickey because they appreciate the quality of his work. I will try to post some pictures from the listing. If you want to see the quality of his work Mickey can give you my address to see it."

"I had a tight deadline to have the work done before the Thanksgiving holiday and AP Carpentry kept their word. Demo happend one day and the installation of new rails, newal posts and iron baluster was fully installed on day two. I'm absolutely pleased with the workmanship and the new stair railing is very sturdy and tured out beautifully. It truly sets the stage for my home remodel. I would certainly hire AP Carpentry again."

"The work was done by sub-contractors, supervised by a Metro supervisor who was very responsive.  First, the supervisor worked with our insurance company to agree on a price for the roofing, which took care of the full roofing job, less the deductible, which we paid.  We also upgraded the shingle style at our cost.
The job was done in two long days and the workmanship was excellent, with one exception:  One of the roofers used long nails over the eves, punching through exposed eve surfaces, leaving long nails exposed and splintering the wood on about half of our eves.  The other half of the eves were boxed in and were not a problem.  Metro hired another sub contractor to come back and cut off the nails and sand and caulk the splintered surfaces so that they are prepared for painting, which we planned to do soon.  The repair work was done in a timely fashion.
The roofers installed several roof vents, metal flashing all around, and painted all exposed metal vents and flashing to match the roof color.  There were some broken siding shingles at the roof-siding junction, which we will need to replace.
A separate sub-contractor removed and installed our gutters and down spouts in one day, and did an excellent job.  They are very solid and look neat and professional.
The Metro supervisor stayed with the project until we were satisfied and was very responsive.

"The kid was late each day he came over. Although he was pleasant, I was not impressed with his overall professionalism. He made a mess, broke the light cover on the ceiling fan, didn't tell me he needed a bulb for the replacement fan, and it took three days to do about 8 hours of work. I was later told that he was leaving the company and that's probably why he wasn't highly motivated. The remaining owner later called me and apologized, but by the time the job was complete (sort of) and I had to finish cleaning up after the guy."

"We bought a house and had a long list of projects, large and small, that we wanted to get done before we moved in. Mario and his team did an absolutely amazing job with all of it. On the small end they replaced a mailbox for us, on the larger end they repainted the interior of the house (doing a stellar job) and took an unfinished space in the basement and turned it into a stunning finished workshop. They updated the home office with new paint and new flooring, redid the master bathroom, and much much more! He and his team were always professional, hardworking, and accommodating. They got things done on schedule and on budget and were always a pleasure to work with. We couldn't be happier with the quality of the work done, and the price was very fair. We will definitely be using Villarreal Contracting for all of our future projects!!"

FAQs for exterior shutters installation and replacement projects in Strasburg, CO

The best material for exterior shutters depends on your preferences. Natural wood offers a classic and timeless look but requires more maintenance. Vinyl, composite, and aluminum shutters provide low-maintenance options with modern styles. Consider your design goals and maintenance preferences to choose the material that ensures both beauty and durability.

Professional shutter installers handle the installation of exterior and interior shutters. They ensure precise fitting and secure mounting so your shutters function properly and enhance your home's curb appeal. Hiring an experienced professional guarantees your shutters are correctly aligned and built to withstand environmental conditions, providing long-lasting protection for your home.

Estate shutters cost an average of $2,990, with prices ranging from $300 to $8,400. Their total price varies based on size, material quality, and installation requirements. While they come with a higher price tag, estate shutters enhance your home's security and add a luxurious aesthetic to your house.

Exterior window shutters are worth the cost for many homeowners, offering aesthetic and functional benefits. They enhance your home's appearance, add security, improve energy efficiency, and protect against severe weather conditions. Investing in exterior shutters can increase your home's value, make it more attractive to future buyers, and provide long-term benefits.

Whether it's cheaper to buy new shutters or paint them depends on their condition. Painting shutters costs $200 to $500 on average and can refresh their appearance if they're in good shape. However, replacing your shutters may be more cost-effective in the long run if they are significantly worn or damaged.

Double-hung, casement, and slider windows are most suitable for exterior shutters, as they accommodate standard dimensions and allow for secure attachment. Unique window types like bay, dormer, and picture windows may not work well with functional shutters due to their shapes and incur higher labor costs due to the complexity of installation.
