He restored it to a practically new finish. I was beyond happy with the results. The craftsmanship is outstanding. <br /> I was pleased when I first got the very reasonable estimate and read great reviews from Angies List and Dorado Soapstone. <br /> This is a very, very old house and they needed to spend an extra day here, travelling from Rhode Island because the kitchen sink cabinet needed to be completely rebuilt to accommodate the heavy stone sink and the cabinets needed a little shoring up. <br /> Having had some very expensive extras with contractors before this, I was expecting a possible whammy...none came. I actually had to ask for the bill before they left. Dave explained every charge which came to less than $300.00, way, way less than I expected. <br /> I had a small issue with the sprayer leaking, Dave came right out and fixed it. He even went down cellar and turned off my <br /> outside spigot for me...good thing because it would have frozen in this weather. <br /> My counters are beautiful and I would hire these guys again in a minute! <br /> <br /> <br />"

"This is a pre-emptive review. I will be hiring them to do work in the house, but I have to say, they offered help above and beyond. I met with Freddy, and from the beginning, I was proactively advised to do work that made sense, instead of work that they could charge more for. I've met with 4 other stone restoration vendors, and they are the only ones who have done this. I also really took time to examine the stone carefully, and very much knew what he was doing. This is in itself would be enough, however, he went above and beyond in helping me with my master bathroom. In short, the work in there needs to be re-done. It was botched by another company. I'm a new home owner, and the advise and support that he gave me after looking at that job is over and beyond anything he needed to do. <br /> Integrity and ethics are words that get tossed around in the contracting/home improvement arena. And if you've gone through any amount of home improvement projects, you realize that these qualities are harder to come by than they should be. <br /> I'm rating them prior to starting the job here because I'd like to get their name out there for other home owners. I'm on a sixth month stretch of working with and searching for contractors to renovate our home. I've used several vendors through angie's list , and have good experiences with the ones I've used. However, the search for a marble restoration company didn't give many hits, and I eventually had to go outside the site to expand my search. I got burned quite badly by doing this "random" search, and I was quite lucky to have found New England Stone Technology subsequently, and it was not through angie's list. <br /> I'd like other users to have this feedback so that they don't have to go through the same thing I did. I will be providing a follow-up review once the work is done, although I'm sure it will just need to be a one word adjective after this review. <br /> <br />"

"One thing I disliked is that the job lasted longer than it was anticipated because they sent a number of people, but the number of people wasn’t the number I expected.  So, instead of a one-day it became a three days job.  The pricing was reasonable.  They did a good job."
