"<p>These folks were very friendly and responsive right from the beginning.  I talked to Roland on the phone and agreed upon a date for an estimate.  Armando, Roland's father, came out to give the estimate.  This is a father & son run company.  We agreed upon a price and they were able to come out the following week to do the work.  Before leaving Armando let me copy the certificate of insurance for the company.  He explained that his crew was insured as was our property in the event of any damage.</p> <p>They arrived on time with the crew as well as a chipper to grind up all the branches that were cut.  One tree cutter did all the thinning so all the trees are now very uniform.  Other guys helped trim a few of the lower branches from the ground and hauled everything out to the chipper.  They finished the job in one day which is remarkable as the trees were very tall.  Either Armando or Roland, and sometimes both, were here all day to supervise the work. </p> <p>Cleanup was very good.  The pine trees in the backyard are on a hill, but hill was pretty clean when they finished.  A few branches fell into the neighbor's yard and they were sure to clean them up, too.  Everything was very neat when the job was completed.</p> <p>We are very happy with the work as the trees look beautiful and are now letting more sun through.  Also, they are no longer top heavy from new growth so less likely to be a problem in any strong winds.  </p> <p>I would highly recommend A&J Tree Service.</p> <p><br /></p> <br />"

"He arrived and I explained what was needed and he gave a reasonable quote which was also the final price. In a few days he returned at the time on which we agreed. He did a very professional job and used very good equipment to install the drip system. His work with the cactus and tree trimming also pleased me. I have waited six weeks to write this review because I wanted to make sure everything worked. It does and I am very pleased."

"I am in property management so I deal with contractors on a regular basis. When doing any major project I always get a minimum of 3 bids, first to make sure pricing is in line and most important to insure I am dealing with a contractor that appears to know what they are talking about. Once I receive the bids I ask for a minimum of 3 references. I have found that one of the most important things to do is look at a contractors work and interview people they have worked for. I actually visited 6 jobs Seth Pompey Landscaping did and personally visited with 3 of his customers. One thing they all had in common was how happy they were with Seth and his crew. My job consisted of a major remodel of my front and rear yards. This included removing my front and rear yards grass and all shrubbery, landscaping, water lines, sprinkler systems, gas lines and drains. After removal everything was replaced with fresh new plants, trees and sod. Seth was very engaging, walking me thru the process steep by steep. Not only was he extremely helpful, he and his crew were very flexible, allowing me to make changes along the way and in some cases not creating any additional cost. Seth even made recommendations along the way which proved to be helpful as well. Seth has surrounded himself with true craftsmen, artist's that know masonry inside and out. They created mow strips, planters faced with small stones, a fire-pit with large natural rock benches and a large cascading waterfall. All of which put the finishing touches on the landscaping he provided. In addition Seth personally took me to 4 nurseries walking isle by isle hand picking each plant, shrub and tree to be used in my yard. While doing so he made sure I was picking the right plant for the right area. I can't say enough about Seth and his staff, they are a class act, one I HIGHLY recommend."

"I received a few quotes from other contractors and they were actually a little lower than California Custom Landscape. But after our initial meeting with Henry it was obvious he had a lot of knowledge and experience so I was extremely comfortable and confident we would love our new yard. He understood my vision but was honest as to why some of my ideas wouldn’t work with our yard and provided his own suggestions. Most people think that contractors would only make recommendations to increase the cost, but he sees each project as if it were his own home and provides his straightforward opinion as to what really looks best and makes sense. Henry actually may have saved me money. During the construction process, he constantly kept me informed as to what the next steps were and was always available to answer any questions I had day or night. I was impressed at how quickly his team worked and they always made sure to clean up each day. Needless to say I am extremely happy with the outcome and HIGHLY recommend California Custom Landscape."

"Joe did a fantastic job unclogging my toilet. He arrived on time, was friendly, and completed the job in about 15 minutes. My plummer of 30 years retired last year and I was concerned that I would have a difficult time finding someone I could trust. Problem solved! Joe with American's Plumbing is my new plummer. Thank you Joe for a terrific job and thank you Angie's List for making the process so easy. <br /> <br />"

"Rich Durbin is a stand up guy, very professional. Came out and did the estimate on replacing my sprinkler control valves which were very old(40+). He even comes out and does most of the work himself which is a big plus in my book. He even lowered the total price on completion of the job because it was less work than originally quoted, a nice surprise for me. Over all very easy to deal with, shows up when he says he will and gets the job done in a reasonable amount of time. Highly recommended."

"I have used these neighborhood plumbers for years. Not cheap, but no problems with the job. This time, the same issue came up which I will mention. ( and it looks like other reviewers have had same experience) . Had a backup the day after they came. Guy came, here 5 minutes, needed stopper, said he'd bring it. Next visit, no stopper. This guy had to install plumbing behind cabinet, and demos basically 5 pieces of wood. Also broke my sparkletts water crock dispenser and spilled a 5 gallon jug of water all over garage, had to clean up. Said he would replace it. Never heard another word, after calling twice. Then, the bill came. Extra charges: " 2 hours demo: $220.00 1 hour backup $110.00 ( here 5 minutes, did nothing, never replaced stopper). I angrily called office for these exorbitant and untruthful charges. Result; we are parting ways. They did reduce the bogus charges. I got great new plumber. They are also RED LILY ( terrible reviews). If Hire them do watch charges!!"

"In January 2017 had a problem where the secondary sewer line serving the laundry and kitchen areas was blocked. Obtained estimates from three plumbing companies including Leak Free. All three agreed the line was broken under the house slab foundation so could not be repaired. All three gave estimates for a new line. Steve at Leak Free came out and not only provided the lowest estimate but also included patching of inside and outside walls after completion of sewer line as part of job. Steve and his team completed the job within three days and delivered on everything promised. Am happy with Leak Free and would call again for any plumbing issues."

FAQs for lawn and garden sprinkler system installation projects in Sugarloaf, CA

While drip irrigation systems have higher upfront costs, they can save you money in the long run. By delivering water directly into the soil with minimal evaporation and runoff, drip irrigation systems conserve water and improve efficiency. This means better performance and results for your landscaping, and cost savings over the system's lifespan.

Yes, irrigation systems can add value to your home, especially when installed with high-quality materials and a solid design. A well-irrigated landscape enhances curb appeal and can attract potential buyers. However, poor design or installation may reduce performance and even decrease your property's value. Hiring an expert for installation and performing regular maintenance is key to securing the long-term benefits.

A local irrigation professional can help you check your drip irrigation system to make sure it's in good shape. You'll want to make sure the water pressure is in a good range, repair any leaks as soon as possible, and cover the cost to winterize your sprinkler system as recommended by your irrigation contractor.

A drip irrigation system lasts between 10 and 15 years. This lifespan is determined by the quality of materials, the precision of installation, and regular professional maintenance. Unlike traditional sprinkler systems that can last up to 50 years, the thinner piping used in drip systems is more sensitive to UV exposure and environmental wear. Proper upkeep and timely repairs enhance durability and ensure consistent irrigation performance.

Drip irrigation is best suited for plant beds, containers, greenhouses, and row crops. It supplies water directly to individual plants, ensuring precise moisture control where it is needed most. For areas with simple layouts, above-ground systems work efficiently, while subsurface installations may be cost-prohibitive in spaces with extensive tree roots or irregular terrain. Proper planning maximizes the benefits of drip irrigation across a variety of applications.
