"I had never used my old basement and I decided to start use it but It needed remodeling. My neighbor recommended me Golden Line construction and after I saw their work on his house I hired them. They arrived on scheduled time and all employees were friendly, professional and helpful. There were some issues but working crew resolved everything easily. My basement looks amazing, better than I expected. Highly recommended contractor!"

"We hired Four Seasons Remodeling and Design to replace a large deck at our home, and the results exceeded our expectations. They removed the old deck, installed new caissons for proper support, and rebuilt everything from the ground up. The crew was knowledgeable, organized, and respectful of our property. The final product is sturdy, well-built, and looks fantastic. I would definitely use them again for future projects."

"Do not use B.W. Tile. We paid him to complete a 2 bathroom job. He charged $17,000 for the two bathrooms. Every week he demanded money and he paid him a total of $16,500 in cash because he didn't want to claim it on his taxes. We kept asking when the second bathroom would be done. Two months later and we get a text (not even a phone call) stating he's decided NOT to do the 2nd bathroom. I requested my money back since he didn't do the job, and he refused. After screaming and yelling at me for 20 minutes, he refused to return our money so now we will be taking him to court. Way to go B.W. Tile!"

"We could not be more pleased with the work done by Falcon Construction! The owner, Val Mataele, was accessible from the very beginning. He answered all our questions and addressed all our concerns in a thoughtful, patient, and professional manner. We knew from the outset that his exceedingly high rating on Angie's List was well founded and absolutely justified. His crew, headed by his very capable brother, completed the project in the time frame they had stated before they began. And the result? Well, it was amazing. The value of our home has been enhanced tremendously and we have a rugged, durable, and gorgeous parking section for our vehicles as well as another cosmetic section that is simultaneously strong and beautiful. Without hesitation, we would recommend Falcon Construction to anyone looking for peace of mind in the selection of a company specializing in the highest quality Concrete-Masonry-and Paving work!"

FAQs for gravel or loose fill paving install, spread or scrape projects in Sunset Beach, CA

To calculate how much pea gravel you need for your project, multiply the length, width, and depth of the area you want to cover to find the volume in cubic feet. Then, divide that number by 27 to convert it to cubic yards to determine the amount of pea gravel you need.

A yard of pea gravel weighs about 1.3 tons or 2,600 pounds. Keep in mind that wet gravel weighs more than dry, and different types of gravel can vary in weight. For example, due to its density, river rock weighs significantly more than crushed stone and pea gravel.

The ideal depth for pea gravel depends on the type and size of your project. You'll need at least two to three inches for walkways and patios and a minimum of six inches for driveways to support heavy vehicles and prevent shifting over time. Aim for a depth of three to four inches in decorative garden beds or drainage areas.

Pea gravel is attractive, versatile, and low-maintenance. It provides excellent drainage, making it ideal for pathways, driveways, and garden beds. On the downside, its sharp texture isn't ideal for bare feet, and it can be challenging to weed or remove once installed. It can also shift underfoot without proper edging, creating an uneven surface.

Alternative landscaping materials you can use instead of pea gravel include wood chips, decomposed granite, crushed stone, pebbles, quartz, mulch, sand, and river rock. These materials offer different aesthetics, performance, and costs, so it’s important to do your research to determine which one best fits your landscape design and budget.

Many homeowners choose pea gravel because it requires minimal upkeep compared to other landscaping materials. You'll need to rake it occasionally to redistribute the stones and maintain an even surface. Pros also recommend installing weed barrier fabric beneath the gravel to prevent unwanted growth, although some weeds may still appear over time.
