"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 Stars – Exceptional Generator Installation Experience! I couldn’t be happier with the experience I had with Tradition Services during my recent generator installation. From start to finish, the entire process was seamless, professional, and exceeded my expectations. Eric was incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to explain all my options, making sure I understood every step of the installation process. He made the whole thing feel easy and stress-free. His honesty and attention to detail gave me complete confidence in the investment I was making for my home. Diana was a pleasure to work with as well—super responsive, organized, and on top of all the scheduling and communication. She made sure everything moved along smoothly and that I was kept in the loop at every stage. The crew that came out was punctual, respectful of my property, and worked efficiently. The final result looks clean and professional, and everything is running perfectly. If you’re considering a whole-home generator, I highly recommend Tradition Services. Between the top-notch service and amazing people like Eric and Diana, they’ve earned my trust and a permanent spot in my contact list for future HVAC, plumbing, and electrical needs. Thank you!"

"Great. They removed several branches in my Oak tree and my Magnolia tree. Then they fixed my drainage by removing some dirt to direct water away from my patio and planted some grass. It hasn't rained yet so I don't know how successful they were yet. I was very pleased with their work."

"We thought that we needed a drainage system for the side of the house, since we had stagnant water there all the time. We had 3 drainage experts come over and give us quotes before Johnny Blalock come out to give us a quote. He was the ONLY expert that identified that we didn't have a drainage issue- but that there was a water leak in the neighbors sprinkler systems' PVB back flow preventer (I didn't know anything about this stuff before he came). I was SO impressed with him right off the bat- that he was able to identify the true issue when the 3 other specialists had missed it completely (or rather they just wanted to get hired to install an expensive drainage system that would have cost thousands). Johnny went to the neighbors backyard and sure enough, he was right about the leak- the PVB was completely unstable and so we were able to turn it off and I then contacted the neighbors. I was so impressed with how knowledgable and HONEST he was. He told me that it would have cost around $3,000 to install a drainage system, and that wouldn't have addressed the real issue, since all the stagnant water was due to a leak. I definitely plan to hire him in the future if we do need a drainage or gutter system, purely based on the fact that I could 100% trust him to be honest. I am very impressed with him and the company and so grateful that he was able to provide us with this information and save us thousands of dollars that we otherwise would have spent!"

"I called Doug Turner Plumbing Co. to help fix a clog in my washing machine's drain. They were able to come early to address my concern, and was professional throughout the service. Alex did a great job and talked me through each process answering all of my questions. I was always made aware of the cost in services, and I feel I can trust them for any project in the future. Definitely worth giving a call!"

"Pretty well. The rep offered some good ideas on how to fix the drainage problem.

I made a mistake in not insisting on a cross-section drawing of what was to be installed, not only for my benefit, but to aid in communication between the sales staff and the installers. There was some confusion about how the landscape cloth was to be installed (wrap around pipe or lay on top of pipe), whether to install steel edging alongside the trench or at the bottom of the trench, what to use for fill-soil or existing cobblestones, etc). I also think I made a mistake by not specifying that landscape cloth be laid along the sides and bottom of the trench before the pipe and fill was placed in the trench.

The crew was pleasant, helpful and eager to please. I was happy to have them there.

Jericho fixed a curb outlet they'd installed many years before; did not explicitly charge for that. It was originally built like thousands of other curb outlets in this town---chop a wide, irregular gap in the curb, extend the PVC pipe through it, put some concrete in it and wait for it to be hit by a tire, breaking the pipe and shattering the concrete. And of course, the new concrete does not bind to the old concrete. Result: an ugly, irregular piece of concrete with a broken PVC pipe in it. Lesson-chopping an irregular hole means some places of the repair concrete will be too thin to offer much compressive strength against a collision with a tire. I don't know, but looking around town, I think cutting a narrow section out of the curb with a saw gives a much better result than chopping a wider, irregular gap. "

FAQs for basement drainage channels installation projects in Texas City, TX

Expect a well-built French drain to last 30 to 40 years. By channeling both surface- and ground-water away from your foundation, the system relieves hydrostatic pressure and helps prevent costly structural damage. Choose a pipe with a quality cloth filter to keep sediment out and extend the drain’s life. A quick annual inspection and routine cleanouts will keep water flowing freely, ensuring the system continues to protect your home for years to come.

Most French drains sit two feet below grade, but depth ultimately depends on the problem you’re solving. For puddling rainwater or snowmelt, a shallow curtain drain at lawn level often does the trick. To handle rising groundwater, pros dig deeper, down to the footing, and run the pipe beneath the basement slab. A drainage contractor will determine the optimal depth for your specific soil conditions and water issues.

A properly installed interior French drain captures water at the slab, channels it to a sump pit, and directs it safely outside, preventing basement floods before they occur. Because the pipe sits just under the floor edge, a plumber can reach it easily for cleaning or repairs. Pairing the drain with a reliable sump pump gives you the best long-term protection.

Hire a contractor who installs drainage systems every day—typically a foundation specialist, drainage contractor, experienced landscaper, or plumber with waterproofing experience. These pros understand slope, soil, and local codes, and they have the equipment to trench safely around utilities. Ask for references and photos of recent jobs to be sure they can design a system that keeps water off your foundation for decades.

Once the drain is in, patch the yard by reseeding bare spots or replacing plants the crew removed. Inside, look for ways to add value—finishing the basement or upgrading interior waterproofing while the space is open often costs less now than later. Schedule a quick annual checkup to flush sediment and confirm the pipe and sump pump are clear. Consistent maintenance ensures the drain functions properly and protects your investment.

Most policies don’t cover the cost of repairing a French drain itself, but they may provide coverage for water damage if the system fails. Coverage varies by insurer, so be sure to read the fine print or contact your agent before any issues arise. If you live in a high-risk flood zone, consider a separate flood policy to close the gap. Knowing your coverage in advance helps you budget for repairs and avoid unexpected costs.
