"I have been a builder for 38 years and used many plumbers. Randy’s plumbing service was top-notch. They were timely per our schedule. They passed inspections immediately. The work was done professionally and according to building codes. He got everything done in just a few days for the underground plumbing for prior to slab work and all the yard lines. Thank you Randy, I really appreciate you and your workers! I have hired Randy’s plumbing service to do underground plumbing, top out and finish plumbing for a new custom home, so the complete plumbing job."

"The crew did the job, digging up and replacing 40 ft of main water line from the city line to the house, including installation of a pressure reducing valve. Overall COST was pretty expensive for labor considering the PEX tubing for the water line was the pretty much the only parts needed minus the pressure valve. I realize they go by a book that determines cost before work is actually done, though and I agreed to it. Kinda hard to get other estimates when you are in a pickle and need water in your home going asap during the holidays. Job got done and the 2 workers were nice guys. One complaint is I asked if there was a Veteran's Discount and they did include it but it was LESS THAN a 3% discount off the subtotal. Taking a star off for this and another for high labor cost."

"My experience was great. JP showed up on time for our initial review of the work to be done. Two days before the install date, the lead journeyman came to review the work to confirm what parts he would need. The day of install went perfect. The journeyman was a little worried he was not going to be able finish the work in (1) day but he did it. The installation is super clean looking. I was informed of what was going on through out the install and a complete review of the system at the end of the day. I will hire JP Plumbery for my future plumbing projects or repairs."

"Had a substantial sudden water leak in the master bathroom toilet area. Dana of Courtesy A/C, Heating, Plumbing and Electrical sent Anthony to assess and make any necessary repairs. Anthony immediately assessed the situation and said he could make a minor repair and that this would resolve the problem. We asked Anthony several questions about and quot;efficiency toiletsand quot; etc. and in our opinion he gave us very direct, specific, knowledgeable and valuable information. We decided that for us a new toilet was most appropriate. <br /> Anthony quickly secured quotes and we opted to have him get us and install a Toto toilet in the master bathroom. He proceeded to install the toilet, he replaced the angle stop, he tested the entire area for leaks and cleaned the entire area. <br /> Anthony in our estimation is a master craftsman in his field and did and amazing, meticulous and very professional job. <br /> We have used Courtesy in the past; but, this experience serves to reinforce what an ethical and professional business Courtesy A/C, Heating, Plumbing and Electrical is and that we will plan to us their services again and again and that we will continue to recommend them to our family and friends. <br />"

"Mike H. diagnosed our immediate concern as a failing hot water circulation pump, which they replaced. Mike was very knowledgeable and thorough, checking everything out, explaining what our options were, and answering all our questions. Mike & Rico also reseated a rocking toilet, flushed the hot water heater and opened a wall to inspect for the dreaded Kitec plumbing (which was not found, fortunately). They were prompt, worked efficiently and left everything clean when finished. While their prices may not be the lowest, we felt their expertise was worth what we paid. We definitely will call on A.B. Plumbing for any future plumbing needs."

"Wonderfully. The installers were thorough, professional, on-time, patient with instruction, and even fixed one or two things outside the scope of the work. I've used TLC for many different kinds of projects in my home, from the very small to replacing all the piping underneath my house and yard so I've experienced their work quality and the quality of their interaction with the customer. They're professional through and through, and I feel confident when I use their services. And their estimators are excellent as well, staying in contact before the job and answering all my questions so that everything works out. Can't say enough good about this company and the quality of their employees and their work."

"We have been using Simmons for years. I had tried several other companies and always got poor service or completely ripped off. Very tired of this in Albuquerque! Simmons Plumbing is an above average constant! I trust that they won't overcharge or say one thing and do another. They aren't the most affordable, but they are the best workers and when they give you a quote, even if it's much harder and takes much longer, they honor their quote (redoing our exterior pipes to the city was ****). They are polite and prompt and I'm thrilled we have one company we can trust. Thank you Dean & Co."

FAQs for basement drainage channels installation projects in Tijeras, NM

Expect a well-built French drain to last 30 to 40 years. By channeling both surface- and ground-water away from your foundation, the system relieves hydrostatic pressure and helps prevent costly structural damage. Choose a pipe with a quality cloth filter to keep sediment out and extend the drain’s life. A quick annual inspection and routine cleanouts will keep water flowing freely, ensuring the system continues to protect your home for years to come.

Most French drains sit two feet below grade, but depth ultimately depends on the problem you’re solving. For puddling rainwater or snowmelt, a shallow curtain drain at lawn level often does the trick. To handle rising groundwater, pros dig deeper, down to the footing, and run the pipe beneath the basement slab. A drainage contractor will determine the optimal depth for your specific soil conditions and water issues.

A properly installed interior French drain captures water at the slab, channels it to a sump pit, and directs it safely outside, preventing basement floods before they occur. Because the pipe sits just under the floor edge, a plumber can reach it easily for cleaning or repairs. Pairing the drain with a reliable sump pump gives you the best long-term protection.

Hire a contractor who installs drainage systems every day—typically a foundation specialist, drainage contractor, experienced landscaper, or plumber with waterproofing experience. These pros understand slope, soil, and local codes, and they have the equipment to trench safely around utilities. Ask for references and photos of recent jobs to be sure they can design a system that keeps water off your foundation for decades.

Once the drain is in, patch the yard by reseeding bare spots or replacing plants the crew removed. Inside, look for ways to add value—finishing the basement or upgrading interior waterproofing while the space is open often costs less now than later. Schedule a quick annual checkup to flush sediment and confirm the pipe and sump pump are clear. Consistent maintenance ensures the drain functions properly and protects your investment.

Most policies don’t cover the cost of repairing a French drain itself, but they may provide coverage for water damage if the system fails. Coverage varies by insurer, so be sure to read the fine print or contact your agent before any issues arise. If you live in a high-risk flood zone, consider a separate flood policy to close the gap. Knowing your coverage in advance helps you budget for repairs and avoid unexpected costs.
