"I hired Perry for yearly maintenance on my AC/heater unit 2x/year. They have been extrememly prompt which is one reason I hired them after their initial contact. Plus I remember they have been in business in Tucson a long time. Luke Olson the old Wildcat basketball coach used them. "

"I would not recommend Hester Plumbing for the elderly. Brian, the owner was arrogant and curt, always in a hurry, and spoke very rapidly. I believe he is driven by money, not customer service. He told us not to go through Angi and to cancel our install with Lowes after he found that there was no way to install a switch without getting an electrician involved. We also had a couple of other small jobs we needed done. He said to buy a starter and he left. We bought the starter at Lowes and cancelled the install. He said e would install the disposal and do the other small jobs when he returned. We waited a couple of day for him to call and set a new appointment. We the missed the appointment because of an emergency. I apologized. He called several days later and we set another appointment. He was fast and efficient during the time he was here and charged us for the missed call. That was fair, but he never disclosed that he would do that. I discovered it when I questioned the bill. Anther plumber told me up front that we would be responsible for a $90 service fee, for the visit plus labor and materials. The $90 would be applied to the final bill. Brian disclosed up front that by putting the hole in for the start button, there was a chance it could shatter the sink. I pictures our sink in pieces, but we gave him the go ahead. When he left, he did not point out that there was a small chip by the start button and I did not do a close inspection because it was obvious that the sink was not in shatters. When I thought Brian's install could have created another issue that arose after he left, I left a humorous VM message. He called and pointed out my error. I apologized. He did not accept my apology or get my sense of humor, nor give me time to explain. He was in a hurry to reinforce how wrong I was. I said goodbye in tears and then texted him saying that there was a chip in the surface of the sink where he installed the disposal start button. I was concerned that water might leek through into the cabinet. I asked if needed silicone caulking. He never replied. If he had given me a yes or now answer, I could have done the silicone my self. It he gave good customer service he would have returned do the caulking."

"2 young men came out and installed a new heat pump. they had some issues they tried to correct but did need to call the shop for help. Unfortunately, after after 8 1/2 hours. some issues still remained and some one had to come back the next day to resolve them before the heat pump was working. The second person that came out did notice the back of the unit is off the pad a couple inches and a bit crooked. He stated they will be back out to correct this after Jan 1st, 2025."

"Awesome job! It is rare that you reach out to a plumbing company in Tucson, AZ and they not only respond the same day (within an hour of submitting my quote request on Angie's List!) to schedule an appointment but accomplish the work the same day! The two (2) technicians, Cassius and Kolin (spelling?) that arrived at our home were awesome! They were professional, friendly, and knew what they were doing. After discussing the work scope of the job to re-plumb the supply and return water lines to our water softener, Cassius detailed a plan to accomplish what I wanted done. He provided a verbal estimate of what it was going to take to do the job (parts and labor) and it was very reasonable. I immediately approved Cassius' plan and he and Kolin set to work. As I previously stated, they both knew what they were doing and the job was successfully completed in less than 45 minutes. The work performed looked very professional and "very clean". They left the work area clean of any debris. We are very happy with all that Cassius and Kolin successfully accomplished! All I can say is that if we ever need any plumbing jobs accomplished, we will definitely contact Economy Plumbing Service LLC."

"Silverado Plumbing is one of the most professional and experienced service related companies I've ever encountered. Long story short: do not hesitate to use them for all your plumbing related needs. I had a drain that started to clog a few weeks ago and got bad enough that water stopped draining altogether. I called out my heating and cooling company who also does plumbing to come out and inspect and snake the drain. Needless to say, that "plumber" simply tried to sell me on a multi-thousand dollar service instead, didn't tighten my sink pipe and left a huge mess and didn't fix the clog. As it's not the first drain I've had clog in my life, I knew that he did not truly try to fix it or use the proper tools and I needed to find somebody who knew what they were doing. I researched online and found that Silverado specialized in drain clogs and pipes and decided to gave them a call. The office manager was super friendly and against all odds was able to get somebody out to me the same day! Their plumber Aaron ended up coming out to my place with a helper within an hour of me calling and immediately got to work with professional grade tools. He tried snaking it on the inside but couldn't get deep enough so went up on the roof without having to ask him and snaked it through the roof. It wasn't easy, but he stayed with it and was able to get the clog out (which turned out to be roots)! He and his helper tested my sink multiple times to ensure there was no more leaks. Before he left, I realized the last "plumber" I hired didn't tighten up my sink correctly and water was leaking into the vanity. Aaron tightened this up for me as well. And best of all? He spent some time cleaning up the dirty water afterwards. Aaron and Silverado Plumbing were nothing but nice, timely and professional. Their prices are fair, they don't try to upsell you on something you don't need and they stick with the job until it's done. That shouldn't be a rarity, but it is in this day and age and Silverado should be commended for it. Don't hesitate to use Silverado Plumbing for all your drain and plumbing needs as I sure will for any other of my needs!"

"I had a horrible experience with Temperature Control. My AC stopped working on July 3rd 2023, I hired Temperature Control to diagnose the issue. I already suspected it was the blower fan motor, and Tony the Tech from Temperature Control confirmed my suspicion. However, he made it sound like a nightmare, claiming it was a rare "legacy" part that would be extremely difficult and expensive to obtain. He even went so far as to say he couldn't provide an accurate estimate. After disappearing into his truck, Tony returned with what he called "4 options" for me, each with shockingly high prices ranging from $2,186.43 to a staggering $21,874. The fixed included a $701.55 charge to clean the blower wheel. As if that wasn't enough, he then tried to convince me to purchase a completely new AC system, persisting for about 30 minutes. Seeing through their tactics, I told them I needed time to think and sent them away. Refusing to be taken advantage of, I decided to call another company for a second opinion. They promptly examined my AC and fixed the issue for a mere $560, which included a simple cleaning of the blower wheel using a basic hose. I asked the other company if it was a hard blower motor to obtain and they stated that it was the most common motor. In my opinion, Temperature Control operates in bad faith, preying on people in vulnerable situations. Their attempt to exploit my urgent need for AC repair by proposing exorbitant prices and pushing unnecessary replacements is utterly despicable. I strongly advise others to steer clear of this company and seek more honest and reputable alternatives."

FAQs for basement drainage channels installation projects in Tucson, AZ

Expect a well-built French drain to last 30 to 40 years. By channeling both surface- and ground-water away from your foundation, the system relieves hydrostatic pressure and helps prevent costly structural damage. Choose a pipe with a quality cloth filter to keep sediment out and extend the drain’s life. A quick annual inspection and routine cleanouts will keep water flowing freely, ensuring the system continues to protect your home for years to come.

Most French drains sit two feet below grade, but depth ultimately depends on the problem you’re solving. For puddling rainwater or snowmelt, a shallow curtain drain at lawn level often does the trick. To handle rising groundwater, pros dig deeper, down to the footing, and run the pipe beneath the basement slab. A drainage contractor will determine the optimal depth for your specific soil conditions and water issues.

A properly installed interior French drain captures water at the slab, channels it to a sump pit, and directs it safely outside, preventing basement floods before they occur. Because the pipe sits just under the floor edge, a plumber can reach it easily for cleaning or repairs. Pairing the drain with a reliable sump pump gives you the best long-term protection.

Hire a contractor who installs drainage systems every day—typically a foundation specialist, drainage contractor, experienced landscaper, or plumber with waterproofing experience. These pros understand slope, soil, and local codes, and they have the equipment to trench safely around utilities. Ask for references and photos of recent jobs to be sure they can design a system that keeps water off your foundation for decades.

Once the drain is in, patch the yard by reseeding bare spots or replacing plants the crew removed. Inside, look for ways to add value—finishing the basement or upgrading interior waterproofing while the space is open often costs less now than later. Schedule a quick annual checkup to flush sediment and confirm the pipe and sump pump are clear. Consistent maintenance ensures the drain functions properly and protects your investment.

Most policies don’t cover the cost of repairing a French drain itself, but they may provide coverage for water damage if the system fails. Coverage varies by insurer, so be sure to read the fine print or contact your agent before any issues arise. If you live in a high-risk flood zone, consider a separate flood policy to close the gap. Knowing your coverage in advance helps you budget for repairs and avoid unexpected costs.
