"Well the guy was suppose to get back to me with a quote and basic design but never got in touch with me again. It also seemed like we talked more about financing (they do internal financing) then we did about the actual addition. Definitely was a turn off but I did not write them off until they never contacted me again. <br />"

Exterior view of the in-progress attached garage addition build. As you can see, the necessary siding was removed from the existing home so we could attach the garage build.

Front view of the log cabin entry room addition highlights the stunning front door with dual sidelights.
Back view shows how much the new build towers above the existing one-story homes in the neighborhood.

"I contacted John Santana, of Choice Home Repair, explained what I needed done and setup an appointment with him to come and look at the jobsite and to discuss in further detail what is required to accomplish what I wanted. John arrived at the appointed time, he thoroughly assessed the area to be worked on, brought to light some areas of concern and made some suggestions on how he would go about to resolve these issues. He also took the time to explain why they needed to be considered. Afterwards, John worked up an estimate, in a reasonable period of time. I thought his price was more than fair and had him draw up a contract. After singing off, I fronted him the funds for materials that needed to be special ordered. When John began the job he partitioned off the area to minimize dust and he cleaned up at the end of the day. Being that this job was done in December, I allowed John to setup in our heated garage where he could work. Here too he partitioned off that area to minimize the dust from his saws and other tools needed for the job. John Santana is a very conscientious, honest, and polite professional that does high quality work. He goes beyond the norm so that in the end everything about the job is solid and looks great. I highly recommend John for any home improvement work needed and would definitely hire him again. Actually, I’ve already discussed with him about the next project I will be doing."

"Mike was a great contractor. When the adjuster gave the amount the water co. would pay for damages. Mike stepped in and had them readjust the amount since they were only giving me have the amount it would cost to fix my basement. Mike went above and beyond to help in a very stressful situation. I would certainly recommend him to friends and family for their next contractor. I will call on him again."

"They gave me an estimate on the first call-it wasen`t the lowest but they seemed to know their business and they were very professional. The job was completed in a few days. They always showed up on time and cleaned up after they were done.I will also say unknown to me it was the beginning of trout season and they still came and did the job-I have found that if it is the beginning of any sport season in Pennsylvania it`s iffy getting a contractor to even return a call. <br />"

"It went IMPECCABLY well! John and those who worked for him are all very polite, hard-working and prompt. He also sent updates with pics on the progress of the job! I called John my MIRACLE WORKER! Although I didn’t have the money to do a full kitchen remodel, he made my tired old kitchen cabinets look very contemporary and new! Not to mention the fact that it was very affordable for me! Even though it was probably a smaller job for John, I felt like he treated it, and me, like one of the most upscale jobs that I’m sure he does (if not, he should)! He even went out of his way to find new hinges that would fit my very old, dated cabinets! He is truly a master at his craft! Now I can have people in my gathering place (my small kitchen) without embarrassment . Well worth every penny spent! I would not think twice about hiring him again; nor would I hesitate to recommend him to anyone! THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH BIG JOHN’s! YOU’RE THE BEST!"

FAQs for major home repair (general contractor) projects in Tunkhannock, PA

In many cases, it’s much less expensive to convert a bus than to buy an RV, especially if you’re considering a newer RV model, which can exceed $100,000.

Another huge benefit of school bus conversion is that you are in control of the renovation project. You get to pick your camper's new layout and all the appliances and furniture.

While school buses can easily cost $300,000 when they're new, you can often find used buses for just a few thousand dollars. These vehicles experience extreme depreciation due to government regulations; they can only be used for so long before they must be replaced. Due to those same regulations, other government agencies cannot purchase them for their own uses, so the consumer market is the only place they can go.

The length of time it takes to convert a bus depends on the scope of the project (and size of the bus), how much work is DIY vs. done by a professional contractor, and how much work you’re doing up front.

In general, expect at least a couple of months for a conversion, but larger conversions could take six months to a year. Remember: You can tackle projects as you go: Get the basic work done so that it’s livable, and then continue to enhance your living space over time.
