"The service was excellent! They arrived to pick up the vehicle a day earlier which was great. They delivered the vehicle right to my daughter's door and found a side street to unload. The service was delivered within the time frame given. All of my questions were answered via phone or email and the paperwork was seamless and the price was very reasonable."

"One of the roofers accidentally fell through our ceiling.  House Works immediately repaired the damage.  They also encountered a problem with the way our builder had built our chimney.  It was uncovered while replacing the roof.  They were able to quickly resolve the problem and saved us multiple repairs that would have been required in the future.  Had they not found the problem and fixed it, we would have lost the chimney within the next few months when Katrina hit the area. House Works stands behind their work, no matter who does it.  I will always use them for any house repairs I need."

"Communications, before and after the work was done, was good. Calls were either answered or returned promptly. Mike Boyle came to the house twice before doing actual work - once to give an accurate estimate, once to take measurements prior to starting work. <br /> On the day of the actual work, they arrived on time with a work crew of 5 men. Work seemed to be well directed, and they finished within the original time estimate -- even though they had to do some custom work, on site, rebuilding the platforms for the indoor units and creating custom plenums to match the existing duct work. <br /> The crew did a good job cleaning up after themselves when the work was finished. <br /> They took care of hauling off and disposing of the old units. <br /> The charge for the units & work matched what was estimated - including sales tax. There were no surprises. (The cost given in the "approximate cost of service" includes sales tax.) <br /> Mike Boyle took care of registering the warranty with the manufacturer (Rheem). I received an email confirmation the warranty had been registered. <br /> The cost of the units plus the cost for labor seems fair to me. <br />"

"I am an architect and have extremely high expectations for the work performed by the contractors I hire.  It is safe to say that Tony exceeded my every expectation.  Although the fact that I am out of state caused a number of difficulties (including communication, and payment, among others), Tony was more than happy to work with me to help get a messy situation (i.e. the rental house) on the road to resolution. <br /> After discussing the scope of the work over the phone, Tony visited the property and sent me an estimate the next day.  Although the project took longer than the anticipated 3-4 days, it was well worth the wait, as the work performed was exceptional.  Tony's work ethic is exemplary, and he refused to cut corners in order to speed up the job, even though it meant losing money on his end.  Although my budget was very tight and I explained to him that I wanted to keep costs down as much as possible, in the end, he did MORE work than was originally on the contract.  That's just the kind of guy he is. <br /> Tony was very good about keeping me informed about the progress at the house, and kept me in the loop any time an issue arose, but also did not bombard me with calls (which I appreciated).  He was very responsive to calls, emails, and texts, something this busy lady appreciates as well. <br /> Tony very patiently endured communicating with my pushy realtor in order to fulfill some of her repair requests as well-- another complication of my being out of state.  Tony was very professional about it though, and always called to confirm with me (his client) before performing any work requested by my realtor. <br /> When the project was completed, Tony sent a number of "after" photos, which were great, since I obviously wasn't able to see the house in person.  Tony gave me referrals to a painter and a house-cleaner, both of which I ended up hiring, and both of which did fantastic work. <br /> Tony's an upstanding fellow and a fine contractor.  Do yourself a favor and hire him."

"used $49 coupon and found out water heater needed some parts. I feel the parts and labor were high.  Work was done while my wife was at home and she didn't know much about what they were recommending. They did explain by phone to me before hand. Also, I got no detailed report on the multi part inspection that supposedly came with my heater flush. My receipt simply said "repair heater" next to the $340 charge.  I definitely wouldn't use again.  <br />"

FAQs for shed, barn or playhouse repair projects in Tupelo, MS

You’ll know it’s time for a new shed roof if shingles curl or buckle, soft spots sag, or water stains appear inside. Moss or other plant growth on the surface is another red flag that moisture has breached the roofing layers. Replacing the roof quickly stops leaks from spreading, protects stored items, and saves you from costlier structural repairs down the road.

Choosing between a flat and a sloped shed roof comes down to climate, budget, and upkeep. A flat roof is cheaper up front, but still needs a slight pitch for drainage. A sloped roof sheds rain and snow more easily, lasts longer, and often needs less maintenance. Weigh your local weather patterns, the look you want, and how much time you’re willing to spend on upkeep before deciding.

A shed roof’s life span hinges on the material you choose and how well you maintain it. Most standard products last 15 to 30 years, while premium picks like slate or clay tile can protect the structure for 50 to 100 years. Regular inspections, fast fixes, and routine cleaning all help you reach the upper end of those ranges and keep your tools and gear dry year-round.
