"Overall the job took the better part of a week and from our perspective was a success.  Ryan worked with us in selecting
the right color for the stain.  He carefully removed and replaced the numerous potted plants we had on the deck and left
the work area in a clean condition.  The patio and balcony look great and our only regret is that we didn't do it earlier."

"Excellent! The team was very well organized and did a great job with the painting! We asked for a couple additional beams to be painted and they were great about taking care of that. They cleaned up everything when they were done and the price was very reasonable."

"Termite extermination crew went well. Crew got there a lot earlier than they told me, which made me stress as I was not ready. Mr. Dana Marshall, a very kind and professional man, told me not to worry and even helped me pack my car. Termite Guy's construction crew was very courteous and replaced damaged wood. The frame on the back door was replaced and I had to show them that another piece of wood needed replacement in the doorway. When completed I tried to open the door but it was hard, thinking it was sticky from the paint. I tried to shut the door and had to push forcefully three or four times with the whole side of my body to get it closed. I called Termite Guy and the workers returned a couple hours later to repair it. He had to remove the door and use a chisel to fix it. (Did they think I would not notice it couldn't be closed or opened properly?!) The two jams on my garage door were replaced but the wood did not go down to the concrete, allowing space for rodent or other small "creatures" to enter. They replaced wood in a couple of other places satisfactorily. They did replace a small area in front that was wood rot, which was not on the list to replace. (Thank you.) They returned to redo the jams correctly. For the few things they repaired, I thought the price was outrageous. It came to $180 per hour for! Their rep, who initially gave me the quote, came out to check on the repairs after the workers corrected the problems. He had a "reason" for every problem that had to be corrected. There was no apology or indication that he was sorry that these issues caused me frustration and inconvenience and should have been done correctly the first time. Not a good way to have a customer recommend you or use you again!"

"Bought a house to be flipped, replaced any damaged areas and bring the house up to date with modern features. The bathroom needed re-tiled. The driveway was badly in shape , layered and designed concrete was used. All the kitchen cabinets were stripped and refaced . Stained that matched the decor. The roof was replaced with new shingles."

"Goodfellas took care of us when we needed it! We had a pipe burst between floors in our multi-level house this summer, ruining our downstairs kitchen, and effecting some cabinetry in our upstairs kitchen. Once we got that clean-up out of the way and got the insurance claim started, we started shopping around for contractors that could help us out. We had three different estimates, but Goodfellas was the least expensive while still meeting all our needs. Our project manager Danny really set up a plan that would fix the damage, while also giving our upstairs kitchen a much needed facelift. His crew foreman Nir, and his crew—especially Arnold—was very helpful and efficient. It was easy to communicate with Nir via phone and text, and I would say I spoke to Danny via email at least a few times a week. Danny was really helpful in matching our new cabinets to the paint choice I had made for the remaining cabinets. They both made sure we were happy with each step and installment, or they fixed it until we were. We even ran into some insurance trouble midway through, putting a halt on our funds for the project. After explaining the whole nightmare to Danny, he was patient and waited with us until Nationwide could pull it together to help us finish this project. And once the final money was approved, Danny’s crew was quick to finish up the kitchen so that we could return once again to our normal lives. In short, they met our demands easily and did the project quickly and proficiently. Whenever there was a confusion or problem, it was easily communicated and handled. The crews were friendly and respectful of my family and house. Arnold went out of his way to make sure my kitchen upstairs was exactly how I wanted it, even down to giving me choice of threshold trim when he could have just slapped down any ol’ trim and I probably wouldn’t have noticed. And he always had a quick smile for my children. I would recommend this company to anyone needing work done in their home."

FAQs for deck, fence, patio or porch clean and seal projects in Twin Peaks, CA

You should clean your deck before sealing it. Cleaning before refinishing is critical. If you don’t remove dirt and debris, you'll trap moisture in the wood, which prevents the new sealer from working correctly and can lead to costly repairs. Whether you need to sand, power wash, or sandblast depends on your deck's condition.

Sealing and staining your deck are essential maintenance methods that protect and beautify your outdoor space. Stain adds rich color and guards against fading, while sealant fortifies the wood against moisture and weather damage. Wood type, climate, deck age, and the degree of existing damage determine whether your deck benefits from one or both treatments. Using both options extends your deck’s durability and enhances its overall appearance.

Power washing and sealing your deck costs $500 to $1,700. This process combines the removal of stubborn dirt and debris with a protective seal that preserves the wood’s integrity. Effective cleaning eliminates harmful buildup, and a proper seal prevents moisture damage and wood decay, ensuring long-term durability and reducing future repair expenses.

Your deck must be sealed every one to three years to maintain its strength and appearance. Regular sealing is essential to protect the wood against moisture, mold, and harmful UV rays. A consistent sealing schedule prevents rapid deterioration and costly repairs. Inspections should be performed annually to determine if the protective layer remains intact, extending the life of your deck.

Leaving your deck untreated compromises its structural integrity and safety. An unprotected deck rots quickly due to moisture and environmental exposure, which means that neglecting sealing results in rapid decay and expensive replacement costs of $4,125 to $11,650. Sealing your deck is essential for maintaining its durability and protecting your home.

The sealant on your deck dries within a few hours and reaches full cure within 72 hours before regular use. It is essential to wait until the complete curing period to ensure the protective layer fully sets and resists weather and foot traffic. Proper drying guarantees that your deck is fully protected against moisture and environmental damage, ensuring lasting quality.
