"Tom from TAF was first to respond from the contractors you suggested. Came and inspected area the next week and emailed me proposal next day. More detailed work than I expected but work nevertheless needed done. Price very reasonable and hope to reach out again if/when I can fit into budget. "

"We have a split level home, with aluminum sided shed, and PVC fence.  We couldn't have been more pleased with his work.  Steve is very professional.  We were so pleased with the job he did, we are bringing him back to do the patios. <br />"

"This is the second time I've used ProFence Deck. The first time was to install a fence which turned out awesome. This time we needed a poorly built deck to be secured, completed and beautified. Sergi showed up on time for the estimate, took the time to draw everything up and calculate a very reasonable price for me right there on the spot. The job was started within days and only took two days to complete as Sergi worked long/hard days to complete quickly. His work is excellent, he is very clean and wants to get the job done right which is done based on his professional opinion and what you want. I highly recommend if you are looking for a deck or fence."

"Ted did an incredible job. Estimate was provided the same day as initial request for quote. Ted accommodated my schedule to do the work within 4 days. The stone (and aluminum siding) on the north side of the house (never cleaned previously and house built in late 40's) was very moldy. Ted gave realistic expectations of how it would look after the cleaning and did not overpromise. It turns out the results exceeded the expectations (it looks new with no damage to the grout). Ted price was competitive and most importantly he is very trustworthy and the results exceeded the expectations. <br />"

"I called this company on 3/24/16 to make arrangements to get an estimate to replace a privacy fence.  I set up an appointment for 4/5/16 for someone to come to my home to do the estimate.  The representative arrived on time and proceeded to measure the area where the fence was to go.  I described what type of fence that I wanted and he showed me a brochure with different options.  I chose the type of fencing that I wanted and he said that he would mail me an estimate.  I received the estimate on 4/8/16; however, the price was not on the estimate.  I had to call the company to get the price. I decided to hire this company to do the work and on 4/15/16, I sent a check for one third of the total price to get the job started.  I expected to hear from the company to confirm that they received my check, but they didn't call in what I expected to be a timely manner.  I called the company to make sure that they did received my check which they acknowledged receiving it.  I asked for an estimate when they could perform the work.  I was told that someone would get back to me with a date.  Their scheduler called me to say they would come to install the fence on 5/16/16.  However, I received a call on 5/10/16, from the scheduler saying they had all of the material and they wanted to come the next day to install it.  I agreed to have them come the next day.  The installers arrived the next day and had trouble removing the posts from the existing fence.  They said that it was impractical to remove the very bottoms of the fence posts because it was too time consuming.  They suggested moving the new fence away from the patio enough to clear the bottoms of the old fence.  After resolving that issue, they determined that they did not have enough material to complete the job because their estimator measured incorrectly.  They said they would have to order more material and that someone would call me to arrange a new installation date.  Before they left, they set the corner posts for the fence.  After the installers left, I noticed that the fence posts they installed were incorrect for the type of fence that I wanted.  I called the company to let them know of the mistake.  I never received a call to reschedule the installation, but the installers did come back unannounced to remove the incorrect fence posts.  While they were here, they determined that some of the other material they had for the job was also incorrect.  They inventoried what correct material they had on hand and determined exactly what additional material they needed to complete the job.  While waiting to hear from the fence company to reschedule the installation, I dug out the old fence posts and and filled in the holes.  By doing that, the fence was able to be put exactly where I wanted it.  The installers came back on 5/31/16, again unannounced, to finish the job.  They had all of the correct material and completed the installation that day.  They took away all of the old fencing material when they left.  I am pleased with the final outcome, but it should not have taken as long as it did to complete this relatively small job.                     "

"Joe's painter did very well. Stripped loos paint, extensively sanded, then caulked where needed, primed and out on 2 coats of latex paint. Joe was very prompt in responding to my inquiry and got on the nob very quickly, which was essential as the winter weather was beginning to set in. Joe was sure he could complete the job in 2 days with one worked, and I was concerned that rain was coming if the job was not completed. But Joe and his man came through and did the job with time to spare. He was very dependable and his price was, by far, the lowest of my 3 quotes."

"We needed my Mom's house power washed before putting it up for sale. It had been a while since it was done last and it showed. The crew from Davis Painting came and conquered. They power washed the entire house, the patio and even did the surrounding wall of the patio for free. I would highly recommend them."

FAQs for deck, fence, patio or porch clean and seal projects in Upper Darby, PA

You should clean your deck before sealing it. Cleaning before refinishing is critical. If you don’t remove dirt and debris, you'll trap moisture in the wood, which prevents the new sealer from working correctly and can lead to costly repairs. Whether you need to sand, power wash, or sandblast depends on your deck's condition.

Sealing and staining your deck are essential maintenance methods that protect and beautify your outdoor space. Stain adds rich color and guards against fading, while sealant fortifies the wood against moisture and weather damage. Wood type, climate, deck age, and the degree of existing damage determine whether your deck benefits from one or both treatments. Using both options extends your deck’s durability and enhances its overall appearance.

Power washing and sealing your deck costs $500 to $1,700. This process combines the removal of stubborn dirt and debris with a protective seal that preserves the wood’s integrity. Effective cleaning eliminates harmful buildup, and a proper seal prevents moisture damage and wood decay, ensuring long-term durability and reducing future repair expenses.

Your deck must be sealed every one to three years to maintain its strength and appearance. Regular sealing is essential to protect the wood against moisture, mold, and harmful UV rays. A consistent sealing schedule prevents rapid deterioration and costly repairs. Inspections should be performed annually to determine if the protective layer remains intact, extending the life of your deck.

Leaving your deck untreated compromises its structural integrity and safety. An unprotected deck rots quickly due to moisture and environmental exposure, which means that neglecting sealing results in rapid decay and expensive replacement costs of $4,125 to $11,650. Sealing your deck is essential for maintaining its durability and protecting your home.

The sealant on your deck dries within a few hours and reaches full cure within 72 hours before regular use. It is essential to wait until the complete curing period to ensure the protective layer fully sets and resists weather and foot traffic. Proper drying guarantees that your deck is fully protected against moisture and environmental damage, ensuring lasting quality.
