"I arranged to hire Eric to repair the insect and water damaged foundation under the front porch of our 100 year old, historic home in Olympia. He agreed to do the work, but was not available for a few months. He was very clear about his schedule and when he could start and kept exactly to that schedule over time. There was not rush and we wanted someone we trusted and did not need the work done quickly. In the meantime he was extremely supportive, came up with problem solving ideas and suggestions, visiting our house at least twice to see and discuss the job, and answered a number of texts and emails about the proposed project. He was unfailingly helpful, supportive, friendly, honest, enthusiastic and committed. He was willing to take on a smaller project than I suspect he normally does. He put a number of hours into preparing to do the work. In the end, we did not actually need him, but only because the work turned out to be more simple than it first appeared and we did not need a carpenter after all. Even when we reached this place, he did not charge us for his time, even though we were willing to pay and he deserved it. I have not worked with a trades person as fair and friendly and helpful as Eric. I will call him again if the needs arise and regret we could not work together. I would trust him with any project based on our experience. He came to us very highly recommended by a local high end cabinet maker. It dealing with him, I kept thinking this is too good to be true, but he never let us down."

"Now our shower floor re-glaze is failing, so ......Fortunately the company offers a five year guarantee. I don't look forward to having the fumes again, but that can't be helped. I have called and left a message with their answering service. Just a note.....we had a company come in to bid on replacing the tub & shower. They saw the failing shower pan re-glaze and commented that it was happening because it hadn't been cleaned and prepped properly, causing the failure. We hope that this won't keep happening. We've decided to try again rather than replacing. BTW....I didn't get to review the repair with all the changes in Angie's list, then a death in my family (our son) and an estate to handle which took a long time....so...............sorry about that...."

I found Modern Flooring Services when I was having a very difficult time with another installer that did a horrible job and I had to stop the job mid-way through. I called Modern Flooring Services via a reference from someone else in almost a panic, and they calmly walked me through how they were going to fix my vinyl plank installation job in my one bedroom apartment. Throughout the entire thing, their communication was impeccable -- whether over phone, email or text. They talked me through every concern I had, fixed anything I needed to have fixed as the job progressed, and made sure that the job was inspected by a supervisor at the end to boot. The team is Russian, and despite a language barrier with one of the main installers (who was excellent), I had absolutely zero problem working with the team to convey and get exactly what I needed, and on a tight budget. They never minded my questions about line items, change orders, and need for further explanations. I can't recommend them enough, I will definitely be working with them again.
