"I had a 1960's shed that was an eye sore. He completely refurbished it! He made brand new doors, put a new roof and flooring for it and it looks amazing! He's absolutely dependable, personable, has incredible skills, and very focused! He's really innovative when it comes to challenges!"

"The procedure was completed in a short time.  The patio door screen had only been repaired once in forty years, and because of an existing storm window, it was rather difficult to remove from the window frame.  But, Bob managed quite efficiently.  In a matter of less than an hour, the screen was replaced and returned to the frame.  It, now, looks lovely.   <br /> It was a pleasure communicating with Bob, whose manner was friendly and professional.  If ever I need any work done on windows, I will definitely call this company again! <br />"

"Lisbon Doors was very helpful in personally ordering the doors we wanted, making sure that we had the proper doors for our project.  The company was helpful also in recommending to us a person with expertise at installing the doors and helped us make arrangements for the work to be done.  It took some time for the ordered doors to arrive, but they came as promised and appear to be quality products.  Since we ourselves did not have or even quite know how to obtain the proper measurements, the person Lisbon Doors recommended for the job previewed the project and got the proper measurements for us, making it possible for an accurate order to be placed. <br />"

"We ordered prefinished hardwoods for a smaller room and Andy installed them for us.  He was friendly and arrived on time.  He even had some advice for other floors in my house that should save money when I'm ready to improve them.  The new floor is absolutely gorgeous.  We've received many, many compliments and requests about the flooring and the installer.  We're so glad we hired Andy! <br />"

"The owner Alex was a pleasure to deal with and stands behind his workers to make his company outstanding. While their price was significantly higher than other bids I had received from Angie's List, I feel it was worth it, because of the work ethic of his crew. We have Pella triple pane windows, and a lot more than the average home. Their workers Dan (The Field Manager) & Nick (The General Manager) were phenomenal and worked great together. They showed up on time and worked on the inside of the house windows and were later joined by three other workers Brian, Emmitt & Viad, who worked on the outside windows of the house. As part of their window cleaning service, they also cleaned the screens and wiped down the insides of the window sill's. I was very impressed with the attention to detail that both Dan & Nick performed, along with going the extra mile, which reflects greatly on the service that their company provides. I would definitely hire them again. Thanks Squeege Squad. Dr. Paul"

FAQs for door or window screens install or repair projects in Wales, WI

Most off-the-shelf screens come in fixed sizes, ranging from 18 inches by 20 inches to 36 inches by 74 inches, which fit the vast majority of residential windows. If your opening falls outside that range or has a unique shape, you’ll need a custom screen built to the exact measurements. Going custom ensures a secure fit, a solid barrier against bugs, and a clean, finished look.

The decision to repair or replace your screen depends on the extent of the damage. Small holes or tears in otherwise solid mesh can be patched, and a sturdy frame usually doesn’t need to go anywhere. However, once the frame is bent or the mesh is brittle and fraying in several spots, replacement becomes a more sensible option—and often proves to be less costly in the long run. Take a close look at both parts before making a decision.

To rescreen a window, start by prying out the old spline, then lift the torn mesh from the frame. Lay the new screen over the frame, allowing about an inch of excess on all sides, and hold it in place while pressing fresh spline into the groove with a roller. Check that the mesh is taut—many pros rest a small brick on it while they work—then trim the overhang with a utility knife.

Most window screens last for 10 to 12 years. Time, sun, and weather gradually make the mesh brittle, so you’ll start to see sagging, rips, or thinning spots that let bugs get through. Check the screens each season; if the mesh crumbles or the frame warps, it’s time to replace them to keep air flowing and pests outside.

Most pros can swap out a screen in 10 minutes to an hour. A quick pop‑in replacement goes fastest, while fitting new mesh into an existing frame or working on a hard‑to‑reach upper window adds time. Either way, plan for at least a few extra minutes per screen so the installer can verify the fit and ensure the spline is seated correctly.
