Customers say: Quality work

"Pablo is the best contractor I have ever hired in my life (age 67). He gave reasonable estimates in a extremely professional way. His subcontractors to do the tiling and excavation did perfect work done expeditiously. They were no nonsense but very friendly and were frankly, a joy to have around the house. My bathroom belongs in a design magazine. In the lifetime I have left, I will hire Pablo and Simplicity Construction for any construction job for everything this house needs. He is also a terrific guy. On time, within budget, beautiful work, friendly and dependable work. What else is left?"

"Rodney Ingraham and his crew gutted my 55 year old kitchen and created an efficient beauty. He paid attention to detail, was patient, available eaach time I called him, timely, totally focused and took a huge headache off my shoulders. . His quote was very reasonable and there were no surprise charges when the job was finished. He followed up days later to ask if everything was satisfactory. It was a pleasure working with Rodney, as he is a true professional, and my new kitchen is gorgeous."

"I paid Mr Charlie Hippie of Cardinal Construction & Roofing INC $9000.00 on August 26th 2021. He promised to start work in 2 weeks. Which was supposed to be on September 9 2021. He never did. I called him every week for 4 weeks and all he kept doing was giving me excuses upon excuses. He was supposed to finish my basement for my sick mother in Law to use as treatment. I am still trying to reach him as I write this review but he has refused to pick his phone call or respond to my messages."

"We hired Yanover Construction to finish our basement. It was a smooth process from beginning to end! They responded quickly to every request and concern. The quality of the craftsmanship was top notch! Our project manager, Marcelo Sanchez, was fantastic! He was very knowledgeable, always on top of things and very patient with us during the process! Jay Blanco was our first contact and quoted the job for us. He made multiple trips to our home and was able to find solutions to make what we wanted work with our budget! We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Yanover Construction! Thank you, Yanover Construction!! We love our basement!!"

"I would highly recommend Mike O'Brian of OCH Construction. The team did an amazing job. The build was spot on to the plans. OCH is very personable, worked with me with the changes I requested and the price was very competitive. I will most certainly use them for future builds."

"The contractor contacted us through Angi's List and represented himself as honest, reliable, and communicative. We explained upfront that we had recently experienced serious issues with a broker and movers and were specifically seeking a professional contractor to avoid further problems. The contractor visited the property to review the scope of work. A second visit occurred with another individual who took measurements and advised on project timing. We entered into a contract with an agreed-upon completion timeframe of approximately 5 6 weeks. Shortly after work began, communication became inconsistent. The contractor represented that materials had been ordered for the project. We later confirmed this was not true. Despite repeated written requests, the contractor failed to provide clear updates, timelines, or proof that materials had been purchased. The contractual completion deadline passed with substantial work incomplete. Workers left the property and removed their tools, creating the appearance that the job had been abandoned. No clear explanation or written plan was provided regarding when or how work would resume. Worker Nonpayment Escalation. We were contacted directly by the contractor's workers, who stated they had not been paid and that a $2,000 check issued to them had bounced. This raised serious concerns about professionalism, reliability, and potential risk to us as homeowners. At no point did the contractor adequately address these concerns in writing. Concerns Regarding Specific Worker (Luis) Luis, who had previously performed electrical work, behaved in an unprofessional manner. We made clear that we do not consent to Luis performing any further work on our property in any capacity. Despite this, the contractor attempted to reassign him to complete the remaining work without our approval. Final Communication and Termination After a continued lack of response, misrepresentations regarding materials, missed deadlines, and worker nonpayment issues, trust was irreparably broken. We issued written notice terminating the contract, revoking access to the property, and requesting an accounting of payments, work completed, and materials purchased. All further communication was requested to be in writing only. Summary The contractor failed to meet contractual obligations, misrepresented material purchases, ignored written communications, and allowed the project to stall. Worker nonpayment and bounced checks created additional risk and instability. Due to these cumulative issues, termination of the contract was necessary and justified. The contractor visited the property twice, took measurements, and we entered into a contract with a 5 6 week completion timeline. Soon after work began, communication became inconsistent. The contractor stated that materials had been ordered; we later confirmed this was not true. Despite multiple written requests, he failed to provide clear updates, timelines, or proof of material purchases. The agreed completion deadline passed with significant work unfinished. Workers left the property and removed their tools, giving the appearance that the job had been abandoned. No clear written plan was provided for resuming or completing the work. Due to misrepresentation regarding materials, lack of written documentation, missed deadlines, repeated payment requests without transparency, worker nonpayment issues, and an overall breakdown of trust, we terminated the contract in writing and revoked access to our property. We are seeking accountability, reimbursement for payments made for incomplete work, and appropriate action to help prevent similar experiences for other homeowners. "

FAQs for addition to existing structure building service projects in Canton, GA

You can typically raise your roof by four to eight feet, depending on your home's structure and roof design. The exact amount depends on factors like roof slope and framing support. Raising the roof creates additional interior space, enhances natural light, and increases your home's value. Consult a professional to determine the feasible height increase for your home.

Yes, you need a building permit to raise your roof. Obtaining a building permit ensures your project complies with local building codes and safety regulations. A professional contractor can assist with the permit and inspection process and ensure all legal and safety requirements are met. Your contractor will be familiar with building codes in your area, which can differ between cities or states.

While it's possible to raise a flat roof, it requires extensive structural modifications. Flat roofs lack the attic space and support structures of pitched roofs, so raising them involves significant engineering to ensure safety and durability. This process can be complex and costly, so professional assessment is essential before undertaking a project of this magnitude.
