"I bought an Angies' list offer for a roof inspection on May 30.  MPJ remodeling did not respond within 48 business hours, instead several reminders had to be sent; finally they responed on June 9 and did a roof inspection on June 12, suggesting some shingles be replaced and some vents replaced.  I also inquired about a chimney cap.   On June 16 I received an estimate of $680--$480 for the roof repairs (this was after an alleged $100 off coupon that came with the Angies list offer) and $200 for the chimney cap.  This price did not strike me as particularly low for the amount of work done, but I agreed on June 17 and asked to be scheduled (noting that I would not be home on June 18 and 19).  I did not hear back until June 24, when the work was scheduled for 12PM June 26.  MPJ arrived at 4:30PM, apologizing for being late, and did the work in around 2.5 hours.
The shingles that were newly-applied do not match in color or size with the ones they replaced.  The color is close; the new shingles are a little lighter than the existing ones, but the size was not cut anywhere near to match the size of the existing shingles.  Regarding how well the other repairs were done & chimney cap installed, I can't say since I cannot go up to the roof to inspect it, though he showed me some pictures of the work on his iPhone.
The fellow who did the work seemed like a nice, well-mannered person.  But the company needs to work on its promptness and on its workmanship.  I am not sure what standard prices are for roof repairs, but MPJ's do not seem particularly low.

"We had several issues that needed to be taken care of as a result of hard to find leak. I made many calls to various companies and handymen to try to get help without getting any satisfaction. I picked JY Handyman Services from Angie’s List and upon meeting Jose he assured me that he could address and fix our concerns. Jose worked on our home in late December and early January when we were having the really cold weather. He did some great trouble shooting, found and fixed the leak, did excellent carpentry, dry wall and painting. Jose and his crew have a great can do attitude and kept me informed throughout the project. I will continue to use JY Handyman Services and recommend them for all general home maintenance and remodeling needs."
