"Smart Tile was quick to respond to my request to have my granite counter tops cleaned & sealed. We setup a date and time to have the work done. I was called earlier in the day to confirm our appointment. Lorenzo was on time and started working immediately after he took a look at what was needed to be done. He was very courteous, friendly and paid close attention to detail. Lorenzo protected the floors with mats to ensure that the cleaner and sealer would not drip onto the kitchen floor. After he was done, my counter tops looked the same as the day they were installed. He also answered any questions that I had regarding the continued maintenance for my granite counter tops. Lorenzo was professional at all times and I could tell by the way that he worked he is an experienced craftsman. I would definitely use Smart Tile for any granite/tile work that I may need in the future."

"Joe was great. He showed up on time when promised. He cleaned up at the end of his day every day of a three day job. He installed a light fixture for us when it was not part of the original job ( for a very reasonable charge ). There were a couple of spots that could have been sanded better. But all in all he did a great job and would definitely hire him again."

"My husband and I bought a fixer upper home 3 years ago. Over the past three years MTL contracting has done each and every update in our new home. From the very beginning, Matt has been amazing! His work ethic is clear as he is punctual and hardworking throughout each and every project. His work is flawless! We could not have been happier with the results of each and every project. From new flooring, to installation projects, to painting jobs and much more, Matt is a truly gifted contractor. There really isn't anything he can't do. I appreciated his honesty and overall professionalism. Every estimate and project was done in a timely manner. My husband and I find comfort in the fact that Matt will always get back to us promptly. Matt was always willing to go the extra mile to ensure the job was done correctly and beautifully. MTL Contracting is the best choice!!!!"

"I would give a B+ overall grade, but Angie's doesn't offer that. I want to first level set what I think an A is and why it's a B+. I would give an A if everything went perfectly based on my initial expectation. B is they met most of my expectation, and the ones that weren't met, are probably not end of the world issues. C is they just got the bare-bones job done and can check off the checkbox to say they were done. Anything below that is a failure. First, I would start with the sales process. Although they claim they are a no pressure sales org, I would say that is probably technically correct, although not entirely true. The sales guys were nice enough, but you def got a sales vibe from them where they were trying to make the sale (maybe I'm just naturally sensitive to sales ppl). They were responsive to any follow up question I had on the SOW. They provided estimates on when the work would start and end, which I didn't believe since this is not my first time to the dance. Their head construction guy (Paul) came over a few days later to measure out my place, and this guy was fantastic. You could tell he knew what he was talking about and knew what he was doing. I asked about start date, and he let me know the original one was not gonna happen. I'm glad I asked him; however, in my opinion someone should have notified me about this instead of me having to pull this information out of them. Either way I had already set my own expectation, so even though I was annoyed, it wasn't any deal breaker. Just note that whatever estimate you get will probably not be *exactly* right (things happen, but unfortunately in this modern day and age that is an unfortunately reality with all contractors in all industries). Once they started work, Tylor was my Project Manager, and he was also a great guy to work with. He was able to give me the info that I needed, without boring me with all the nitty gritty details. He had people onsite pretty much every day (this was around the holiday season, so I understood people had vacation). The work spanned demoing my kitchen, installing appliances, floors, baseboards, bathroom shower, tiles, vanity install, medicine cabinet install, plumbing, electrical (the guy was even able to snake an additional line from my circuit box to my kitchen), painting, coordinating with my building super & staff (I live in a coop building so there are things like water shut-offs that need to be managed). Overall, everything was great. The few things I think could have been better (and I think this is really mostly feedback to Paragon): 1) Shower floor does not fully slope down to the drain, there is a local minimum in which water sits in and I have to manually push it to the drain. Really annoying after each shower. 2) The shower door is not as level as it should be. 3) I don't think my flooring should have been installed under my kitchen cabinets. After discussing this point with others after the fact, the floors expand and contract with humidity, so they have no room to "breathe" and may cause stress else where. 4) I specified in the contract that electrical outlets should have been installed to NEC spec (i.e. the ground plug on top). They were not :/. With all that said, I would totally recommend Paragon and would use their services again myself. I waited a full year to write the review so as to give their work some time to settle in, and it has done so just fine."

"We purchased a home in December 2012 that we knew needed a lot of work. The first project we had to tackle was converting the entire home to natural gas from electric as well as a full gut job of the first floor. The following summer we began interviewing various general contractors. Including 2 Rivers we met with 5 GCs. The other 4 GCs were not able to price the entire project and needed to have each of their subcontractors come through our home. Seeing as though my husband and I both work this was an extreme inconvenience but we wanted to ensure we were doing the right thing. Andrew was able to review our blueprints and walk through the home with us and provide us a quote without any further interruptions. In addition, Andrew was the only one that gave us his thoughts on the plans. Where we might consider changing things and why. Never pressuring for a change but this was the first time we had done anything like this and we took about 95% of the suggestions through the project! We received quotes from all 5 individuals. We got everything from an email with a single cost figure to a single side of hand written paper with a 'general idea'. Andrew's quote was close to 20 full pages with detailed information for each part of the project. Andrew came to sit with us (at our convenience) and review the entire document. When the first budget came in a bit high for us we talked about possible solutions and Andrew was able to work with us to get right to where we needed to be. The other 4 GCs indicated there was no room on their budgets and 3 of the 4 were already higher than where Andrew started! Without an itemized quote there was a great deal of grey area that we were not comfortable with. We went with Andrew and 2 Rivers because it was clear they were the best value. I also want to highlight that we have 2 dogs and Andrew and his crew were awesome with them and totally respected that this was their home. My husband and I both work long days and we were never uncomfortable with the crew being in/out of our home. I was also 3 months pregnant when we started work and was living in the house during construction and the entire time the entire worksite was astonishingly neat and clean. We started the project in October. Coming home after the first day of demo I was worried what I would find but it was literally the cleanest construction site I've ever seen. Very limited dust, zero debris and there were dust shields put up to the areas of the home that we're not being touched. This was a definite trend through the project. Andrew is meticulous and requires the same from his crew. We loved absolutely all of the team Andrew has working with him. They were all kind and respectful and very hard working. I thought it would be tough to get through this project given the long hours that we work and the fact that I'm a bit of a crazy perfectionist but as we got started with reconstructing the first floor I would text, call or email at about 8pm most days and 90% of the time I would get Andrew at that moment or hear back that night. He was always willing to work with our schedules. If he wasn't available immediately it was never more than a few hours before we heard back. Near the very end of the project Andrew was in Poland on vacation and I sent him an email about something and he resolved the issue immediately, from Poland! It was clear as we moved through the project that Andrew and his team really care about doing things the right way. There were a few finishing details that we had cut from the project for budget reasons and Andrew just knew they were the finishing touch that was needed and was able to get them all done by the end without and increase to the budget. This included amazing custom trim on every door and window that gets complimented by everyone that comes into the home! Peter's finishing work is amazing. I'm definitely not the easiest person to work with, I think of myself as the queen of 'one more thing'! Never once did Andrew make me feel like anything was a problem. There were a few odd things that had zero to do with the project that came up during the time and Andrew and the team jumped on them immediately without another thought. After about 80% complete I decided I wanted to change the front door and it was done in a day! We also had a fairly large TV that we needed to have hung and wired on a wide brick fireplace. We had several home audio companies come in and act like it was nearly impossible. I was griping to Andrew one day and of course he had just the guy to help! They were on the roof and in the garage and in the fireplace and were able to figure out exactly how to get it done in a few hours. The TV is up and perfect and it was another example of how the team truly wants to do the right thing to get the job done and make sure you're happy. I kept this up right until the end, on the final day after the final payment I asked if they could help with a piece of siding on the house that had come loose that we couldn't reach and as always, the answer was 'of course'. Andrew and the team really work to build trust. I trusted Andrew to the point that I had him lay our slate floor without having seen it! We were traveling and I knew if he liked it so did I. There are 100 other examples of how Andrew and the team really went above and beyond to ensure a good experience as well as a perfect outcome. It is not that the project was without complications, it was just that Andrew had a solution to each problem before he brought it to our attention. If there were multiple solutions he laid out the pros and cons and we felt informed the entire way. I'd like to think it speaks volumes that we were sad when the project was over and can't wait for the next one to start. We have some fairly significant work to do on the second floor and won't consider going anywhere else! We're really looking forward to the next project and seeing the crew again. They became like friends! Andrew, Peter, Juan, Jesus, Rodrigo, 'other Andrew', Kim and everyone else I'm forgetting were just the best!"
