"We have used Tri-Pups for a variety of jobs around our home. Most recently they did a bathtub tear out and new shower installation. Chris and Debbie and the entire staff are super easy to work with and up front with what is involved and what to expect. They have also done recessed lighting, laminate floors, and repositioned kitchen cabinets. They even cut hole through our brick to install a new window where there was not one. The work is always top quality and they are the first call we make. Will definitely use again, and highly recommend."

"It went very well! Cedar shakes make a huge nasty dirty mess as they are removed since they basically fall apart as they come off. But as they were removed 2 or 3 guys on the ground were constantly raking and keeping up with removing everything from the ground. The guys working on the roof worked for about two and a half days (10 hours each full day) first removing the cedar shakes, then laying the new plywood base, the new shingles and doing all the other details that created my houses new look. I've received many complements not only on how great my house looks but also from neighbors who appreciated the work ethic of this crew."

"Not satisfied with craftsmanship. Cabinet and counter top cutouts were not properly aligned for supply and discharge lines. Wall tile was installed unevenly and gaps were filled wth extra caulk. Electrical wall outlet for jetted tub was not properly secured or protected causing breaker to trip frequently. Tub faucet handle requires extreme effort to turn on and off."

"Thomas was excellent! He replaced a faucet in the kitchen which started leaking December 24th, I texted him December 26th, and he asked me to send him a picture of the faucet and under the sink, and he came to the house on Friday and replaced the faucet after picking up a new one on the way to the house. He also checked the pipes as there had been some leaking into the basement, pronounced them fine, then he fixed an upstairs toilet that had been "running," off and on for about 3 months. He is very professional (and personable) and I found out that he is a mechanical engineer by degree. He has done other work at our house and we would never think of calling anyone else to do repairs, painting, or replacing a leaky pipe. He is the best!"

"Tom and his crew were very polite and professional. They worked constantly from the time they arrived until they left at the end of the day. They always cleaned up any mess they made at the end of the day and left the area neat. Chris, worked on the crown mouldings and baseboards and did an excellent job. The crown and the baseboards are beautiful and make the house look so polished. I absolutely love the mouldings and baseboards. The painting was done very well and I am very pleased with every room that was painted. My basement looks fantastic! The flooring and baseboards look spectacular! Tom goes out of his way to insure everything the customer wants is done. He even went with me to Home Depot to pick out the doors and locks. He also did extra tasks that weren't in the contract, such as putting vents in my furnace room because they should be there for safety reasons. I truly appreciated Tom's thoughtfulness in completing jobs in my house because they were needed or would make my home look better. I was very fortunate to find Tom and his crew, because not only were they professional and personable, but they completed all of the work I contracted for and did even more that I didn't ask for. Tom really did treat my home as if it was his and provided high quality work and a great smile too. I highly recommend Tom and his construction company to anyone looking for an honest and fair contractor, who takes pride in the quality of work performed. I only have one project left to do, but I certainly will contact Tom to do that job when I'm ready."

"Could not have gone better. Every time I asked for a modification, no matter how complex it seemed, Art came up with the solution and his work was impeccable. He's a very intelligent, resourceful, detail oriented, precise, creative and talented person. He doesn't believe in "good enough" - it has to be 100% precise before Art will consider it done. I've had Art do things as simple as install new light fixtures and as complex as building this gazebo. You cannot find anyone easier to work with or more talented. His rates are reasonable and he sticks to his promises. Electrical and Building inspector both signed off on their first inspection of Art's work."

"Crew arrived on time and started immediately. They brought plenty of lumber to replace quite a bit of damaged wood that I had. They clean all the debris up before they left and the roof looks amazing! It was a great experience on a job that I had not planned for at the time. I highly recommend Top Choice Home Improvement!"

FAQs for shed, barn or playhouse repair projects in Warren, MI

You’ll know it’s time for a new shed roof if shingles curl or buckle, soft spots sag, or water stains appear inside. Moss or other plant growth on the surface is another red flag that moisture has breached the roofing layers. Replacing the roof quickly stops leaks from spreading, protects stored items, and saves you from costlier structural repairs down the road.

Choosing between a flat and a sloped shed roof comes down to climate, budget, and upkeep. A flat roof is cheaper up front, but still needs a slight pitch for drainage. A sloped roof sheds rain and snow more easily, lasts longer, and often needs less maintenance. Weigh your local weather patterns, the look you want, and how much time you’re willing to spend on upkeep before deciding.

A shed roof’s life span hinges on the material you choose and how well you maintain it. Most standard products last 15 to 30 years, while premium picks like slate or clay tile can protect the structure for 50 to 100 years. Regular inspections, fast fixes, and routine cleaning all help you reach the upper end of those ranges and keep your tools and gear dry year-round.
