"Really happy with the finished product. We had several things done: extensive mulching (8 yards of mulch), edging, removal of bushes, new plantings and tree trimming. All of this work was completed in two days. Definitely felt that we received a fair price and was well worth the investment. Brian was very responsive, completed everything we had discussed, and the job was very well done. Would definitely recommend to anyone and would use the company again!"

"Went to pick out stone that matched what we had used several years ago. They did not have the exact stone, but showed us a stone that was very close. Ordered the suggested amount for the project on a Friday, and it was delivered on the next Tuesday. The stone matched what we had in the yard beautifully. We did have about half the stone left over, and I called to schedule a pickup. The remaining stone was picked up within the week, and we were credited for the amount we did not use. As always, our experience with the Stone Center was excellent. We will definitely use them again -- great job!"

"It went well - Ken built the scaffolding one afternoon, and completed the work the next day, I think. He seemed very knowledgeable and wanting to do things correctly - even if it was more work. THis is what we wanted. We didn't want a fix quick that might hold up for a year or two, we wanted a job well done that would last 30 years, and that's what we got. <br />"

"Rick removed a 40 inch, very heavy, circa 1950's gas stove and hauled it away  He cleaned up the area where the stove had been in place for over 50 years.  He repaired the floor and back wall under and behind the old stove and ran a new circuit for the electric outlet behind the stove.  He added a valve to the gas line serving the stove.  He installed a new gas stove in the space <br />"

"We decided not to go with their design. They were very expensive for the design they were presenting to us. We ended up re doing the pond ourselves.  It was not much of a design, but more of a list of things we could do. It was not what I considered an architectural design would be. We did appreciate their ideas. The owner who had come out was very nice and pleasant, as well. They also invited you to come see their models."

FAQs for gravel or loose fill paving install, spread or scrape projects in Warsaw, IN

To calculate how much pea gravel you need for your project, multiply the length, width, and depth of the area you want to cover to find the volume in cubic feet. Then, divide that number by 27 to convert it to cubic yards to determine the amount of pea gravel you need.

A yard of pea gravel weighs about 1.3 tons or 2,600 pounds. Keep in mind that wet gravel weighs more than dry, and different types of gravel can vary in weight. For example, due to its density, river rock weighs significantly more than crushed stone and pea gravel.

The ideal depth for pea gravel depends on the type and size of your project. You'll need at least two to three inches for walkways and patios and a minimum of six inches for driveways to support heavy vehicles and prevent shifting over time. Aim for a depth of three to four inches in decorative garden beds or drainage areas.

Pea gravel is attractive, versatile, and low-maintenance. It provides excellent drainage, making it ideal for pathways, driveways, and garden beds. On the downside, its sharp texture isn't ideal for bare feet, and it can be challenging to weed or remove once installed. It can also shift underfoot without proper edging, creating an uneven surface.

Alternative landscaping materials you can use instead of pea gravel include wood chips, decomposed granite, crushed stone, pebbles, quartz, mulch, sand, and river rock. These materials offer different aesthetics, performance, and costs, so it’s important to do your research to determine which one best fits your landscape design and budget.

Many homeowners choose pea gravel because it requires minimal upkeep compared to other landscaping materials. You'll need to rake it occasionally to redistribute the stones and maintain an even surface. Pros also recommend installing weed barrier fabric beneath the gravel to prevent unwanted growth, although some weeds may still appear over time.
