" We had a challenging project with water removal and structural support issues. Our crew of Tim (Foreman), Marq, Jayshawn, and Devon worked diligently to install a new drainage system and support beam for the house, spending late nights to get the job done. Thanks to (Manager) Cornell for his assistance on this complex project. Matt E "

"I could not ask for a better team to do the work. They guys worked so hard because of small space available and they were extremely nice and personable. Then when I had an issue with my payment, the woman in office must be the best customer service person on earth. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY"

"We went here to pick out granite surfaces for a new walk-in shower in the master BR...bench tops, soap shelf tops, window sill and curb sill. Everything went fine at the store. Things fell apart after that. Deadlines weren't met...repeatedly, deadlines they set. Expectations they set went unmet. Communication was poor. If something is wrong just tell me. I can deal with that. Fortunately our contractor did the work of communicating with them and making things happen...finally! Probably a good thing it wasn't me.Don't keep telling me what you think I want to hear and completely destroy your credibility with lousy performance. In the end, we got the project done and are fairly certain about what happened. Not going to share that because I am not completely sure. However, we are absolutely certain that we'll never do business with this company again. We would encourage you to look elsewhere. This product is expensive. Choose wisely. There are plenty of options out there."

"AFTER THE TECHNICIANS? FROM N.E.W. WORKED ON MY HEAT PUMP FOR 3 MONTHS (NOV-FEB) AND PAYING THEM $373 THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTED WITH MORE PARTS STILL ON ORDER I INFORMED N.E.W. THAT I WOULD FIND SOME ONE ELSE TO FIGURE IT OUT-AFTER THE DIFFERENT HEATING COMPANY TECHS. INSTALLED THE PART N.E.W. HAD ON ORDER THE PUMP STILL WASN'T WORKING CORRECTLY UPON TROUBLE SHOOTING FURTHER THEY DISCOVERED N.E.W. HAD OVER FILLED THE FREON (WHICH HAD TO BE REMOVED) AND DONE RIGHT ALSO THE CONTROL BOARD THEY HAD INSTALLED WAS WIRED IMPROPERLY-AFTER CORRECTING THESE MISTAKES THE HEAT PUMP WORK OK. IF THE FREON NOT BEEN ADDED AND THE CONTROL BOARD INSTALLED CORRECTLY IT WOULD HAVE SOLVED THE PROBLEM INSTEAD IT COST ME ANOTHER $723 TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM N.E.W HAD. CREATED. THE REPAIR AND CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THE WORST I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED"

FAQs for sump pump or interior foundation drains installation projects in Warsaw, IN

Most residential pumps draw approximately 1,300 to 2,900 watts when they first start, then settle at roughly 800 to 1,050 watts during normal operation. The exact number depends on the motor’s horsepower and how often the float switch tells the pump to run. Even at the high end, the electricity cost is minor compared with the expense of cleaning up a flooded basement.

Grab a ruler and an empty 18‑inch‑wide pit. During a steady rain, time how much the water rises in one minute. Multiply that depth (in inches) by 60 to calculate gallons per hour, then add 50% for safety. If the result tops 2,100 gallons per hour—about 35 gallons a minute—you’ll need a 3/4‑horsepower unit. Anything lower, and a 1/3- or 1/2-horsepower pump should do the trick.

Loud rattling, constant cycling, or shuddering vibrations are the pump’s way of telling you it’s on its last legs. Musty smells, higher electric bills, and visible rust are other red flags. If the unit is 10 years old or older and exhibits any of these symptoms, replace it before the next heavy rain turns your basement into a wading pool.

You don’t have to hire a licensed plumber, but you should still bring in someone who installs sump pumps for a living—whether that’s a plumber, basement‑waterproofing specialist, or experienced handyman. They know the local codes, can wire the pump safely, and will test the system before they leave. Skipping professional help might void the warranty and could leave you with a pump that fails when you need it most.

Not every basement needs a pump, but if your home sits in a floodplain, has a high water table, or has ever taken on water during a storm, a sump pump is inexpensive insurance. For basements that only struggle with condensation or the occasional damp spot, sealing cracks and improving drainage may be all that is needed.
