After having Roto-Rooter come out twice over a year and a half period (they initially believed that it couldn't be roots because it was PVC and did not use a camera to check) to snake our drain, and then when they recognized the root problem, they quoted us $12k for this work. David S Hooper came recommended a plumber we've used before and liked, and Hooper quoted us $4.5k for the same work that Roto-Rooter did, and then we also worked out another $2k for an old plastic water line, that we knew needed replacing at some point, since they were already digging up our yard. Despite some unluckiness with the timing of when inspectors arrived (you can request an inspector on a day, but cannot request a specific time), the work was done as agreed upon, and I'm happy to say that both Hoopers (father and son) were very personable, reasonable, and professional. Especially after the ridiculous quote given by Roto-Rooter, I would certainly recommend Hooper to others."
