"The owner was very comfortable to talk to about the water leaking problem in the basement. He did a great job explaining how the job to prevent future leaks would be completed. His brother managed the crew when the job started. It went very smoothly. The team had 4 men and finished the job in only 2 days. The system has kept my basement dry through summer down pours and the most recent snow melt. No water leaks. Everyone was very courteous and efficient. I am very happy with the service.

"Old English Construction, which I contracted to replace the retaining wall at my property, did a great job. I would hire them again. I had concerns about blending the new retaining wall with the existing adjacent walkway. Michael, the project manager, listened to my concerns and addressed the concerns to ensure a good blend between the new retaining wall and the adjacent walkway. Michael ensured that I had proper drainage (weep holes) in the new wall. Michael worked with me to ensure the design of the new retaining wall was right for my purpose and was appealing. Old English Construction provided rebar and reinforcement of the wall to make the wall sturdy and lasting. Additionally, Old English Construction gave me, I feel, a great warranty of their work. From the start of working with Old English Construction they were responsive to proposing and installing my retaining wall at a great price and within our agreed upon schedule. I have received compliments that my retaining wall is nicely built. I rate Old English Construction 4.7 out of 5."

"The work was completed as promised, but there are minor problems with both the walkway and steps. The curve of the walkway has places where the wooden concrete forms didn't match up, leaving ~1 inch corners sticking out instead of a smooth curve. The concrete front step doesn't completely fill the space against the house (a couple of gaps remain) so I worry that water could get in and eventually damage the step. Otherwise, the walkway looks good."

"The work was done well overall, but I had to remove some large concrete pieces from the sloping areas around the edges. The original diggers had buried these close to the surface, which would have made landscaping impossible. This was not Jerry's fault, as they did not follow his instructions to break these up, and add them to the substrate rock under the patio base. There were delays due to the very bad weather, out of his control, but the re-scheduling needs could have been communicated better, in my opinion."
