"Rene was great. He had a wonderful suggestion to secure the lid to my sump pump pit, cover the holes another plumbing crew had made, and secure the lid to the pit. Highly recommend! Great on price and flexibility in scheduling!"

"We hired Kozan Construction to do some major plumbing construction work moving the plumbing for a washing machine and utility sink and reworking the plumbing for a bathroom sink. They provided a fair bid and so we hired them and were told the project would take a week. Faruk was respectful and hard-working and would accommodate all of our requests to have pipes or the levers moved and straightened. Our main issue was scheduling, as he had a number of other plumbing emergencies that delayed our project and left us without laundry for two weeks. The work was good and done all up to code, so if you have some flexibility with your timeframe, or it s a emergency call then I definitely recommend. If not, just make sure you work out a schedule ahead of time so you know what to expect."

"Brookland plumbing performed a variety of projects. They found the source of a leak from our first floor bathroom to the basement bathroom. They replaced the old toilet and solved the problem. The team also did extensive work to replace old corroded galvanized pipes with copper pipes. In addition we had our old sink and bath fixtures replaced. Brookland plumbing crew were diligent, professional and we are very happy with the work."

"The plumber was on time and quickly assessed the problem and started work. One of the PVC pipe joints was leaking and water in several other pipes was not draining. He repaired all the joints and re-arranged and replaced several pipes that were not draining. He also reinforced several major joints to prevent problems in the future. <br />"

"The technician, Jacob, explained the risks with replacing the T-joints clearly and unfortunately there were additional issues that incurred overtime work to resolve. But Jacob worked creatively, diligently, and with a positive attitude to ensure the work was completed properly and for expected additional costs. I am a very happy customer despite the complications and would hire Mallick for future plumbing needs and highly recommend them to others."

FAQs for sump pump repair or replace projects in Washington DC, DC

Sump pumps last about 10 years with proper maintenance and prompt repairs. Several factors can influence your sump pump’s lifespan, such as usage, environmental conditions, and installation. Premium sump pumps with heavy-duty motors and quality components tend to last longer than lower-cost models. Pedestal sump pumps usually last longer than submersible models since they’re not constantly exposed to water.

A basement French drain is a drainage system installed in basements or around a building’s foundation to redirect water and prevent flooding. This system features a trench with a perforated pipe that catches and transports water away. These systems can crack, freeze, or clog, potentially resulting in flooding or strain on your sump pump.

You can use a sump pump in your yard to minimize pooling water and landscape damage, but it’s best used in conjunction with other drainage systems. This can include French drains, trench drains, underground downspouts, and other equipment. Proper lawn care, such as soil aeration and native plants, also aids with drainage.
