"Excellent ‐ I currently live in a house that TrokStar Construction completely gutted and rebuilt. Neighbors often will stop by saying they can't believe it's the same house. The interior came out stunning ‐ I especially enjoy the modern kitchen and bathroom. The highlight though is probably the handed crafted fireplace mantle and frame. I would highly recommend TrokStar for any construction project, big or small."

"We had our roof and gutters and skylights replaced by Ireland Contracting and they were great. We had to wait a while to get on their schedule, but they were well worth the wait. Our contact was Tim and he communicated clearly and thoroughly throughout the process. It was a pretty big job and took several days. The crew showed up reliably on time every day and did high quality work. They cleaned up after themselves each day and left everything in perfect condition. They seemed to take great care to not disturb or damage any of our landscaping which I appreciated very much. We also were replacing some windows and Ireland referred us to a Pella contractor that they have a relationship with. We have been very happy with the window project as well. I highly recommend Ireland Contracting."

"Sean and Dave are true craftsmen they are polite, honest, and pay close attention to detail. I was referred to him from my mother-in-law who he built a beautiful set of multi tier stairs for. Sean went over every step of the build asked for my input, listened to my opinions, helped me envision the project, accommodated a few of my needs and finished the job thoroughly before the quoted deadline. Me and my wife are so happy! Robertson Home Renovations went well beyond our expectations. It is a surreal feeling to have our dream deck completed in a weekend and at a reasonable price. I look forward to future projects with Sean and I will definitely refer him to anyone that is looking for a honest contractor that takes pride in their work! Thank you"

"I called Haven Hardwoods on a Sunday morning. Andrew returned my call on Sunday evening. He showed up on time to survey the work. He emailed the estimated in a few days. We weren't ready to have the work done immediately, so he scheduled it about six weeks out. The workers showed up on time and completed the work in less than four hours. The quality of work was great and they cleaned up when they were done. I will definitely use Haven Hardwoods again."

"Matt is a gem! He takes great care in his work which was needed to do the tile work. I looked for four years for someone who would even do the job. Matt was the first one who said he could do the tile work too. Dealing with 100 year old subway tile with pencil line thin grout lines is extremely delicate work and Matt did a tremendous job. The work took about 5 weeks because it was so painstaking. Everything was a challange: The beadboard had been cut too short by someone else so he had to create the baseboards rather then use the ones I had. The original chair rail had been demolished leaving some bad gaps and he had to create a backing for the new rail. There was a huge hole where the tub had been and where they had demolished all the tile to put in the "modern" tub and he had to drywall that so he could even put up the beadboard.  Because the house is 101 years old, things weren't always plum or square. Matt met every challenge.  <br /> I've hired him for more work and plan to keep him busy for awhile yet! He's super nice and and quite a craftsman. He specializes in restoration type work so if you have an old house, Matt is your guy. <br />"

"I love working with the owner & all employees.  They are friendly & go out of their way to help, no matter the problem.  My bathroom is small & needed more storage space.  Dan, the owner of Loebrich's, was very helpful in finding just the right surround & fixtures to solve my problem.  The job was completed in a timely manner with little or no disruption to my personal routine.  The workers always cleaned up before departing for the day & showed up on time the next day until the job was done.  I would call Loebrich's Contracting for any job around my house, no matter how small.  They are always willing to help or find help for me.  I would highly recommend them. <br />"

FAQs for shed, barn or playhouse repair projects in Washington, PA

You’ll know it’s time for a new shed roof if shingles curl or buckle, soft spots sag, or water stains appear inside. Moss or other plant growth on the surface is another red flag that moisture has breached the roofing layers. Replacing the roof quickly stops leaks from spreading, protects stored items, and saves you from costlier structural repairs down the road.

Choosing between a flat and a sloped shed roof comes down to climate, budget, and upkeep. A flat roof is cheaper up front, but still needs a slight pitch for drainage. A sloped roof sheds rain and snow more easily, lasts longer, and often needs less maintenance. Weigh your local weather patterns, the look you want, and how much time you’re willing to spend on upkeep before deciding.

A shed roof’s life span hinges on the material you choose and how well you maintain it. Most standard products last 15 to 30 years, while premium picks like slate or clay tile can protect the structure for 50 to 100 years. Regular inspections, fast fixes, and routine cleaning all help you reach the upper end of those ranges and keep your tools and gear dry year-round.
