"Jack with premium sealing is amazing replied instantly after I sent my lead in he came out at a time that worked great for me was very helpful with getting me to understand the process and what needed to be done on my ranch lane he put down a great base so that way my lane would stay solid and last for years he put down 2 layers of chip rock with hot tar and made my lane look fantastic couldn’t ask for a better job from a smart respectful young man anyone in need of work I highly recommend Jack Pierce with premium sealing "

"After calling multiple companies for bids and speaking to multiple Contractor Friends of mine I chose Topps Paving to repave my parents driveway. All of their workers were extremely professional and courteous to me and my 75 year old father who watched the entire time and asked questions of the crew. Allow a large window to schedule as rain will interfere with a dry paving surface and effect when they can complete the asphalt paving. Overall, I spoke with everyone from the crew to the office secretary to the owner of the company and all were professional and accommodating. I highly recommend this paving company <br />"

"First of all, they were very responsive to my request for a quote on the job.  Mr. Lay came to my house on a Sunday.  He gave me a quote that included electrical work and plumbing work, in addition to his own crew.  Mr. Lay frequently checked on the work in progress, even  when the electrician and plumber were here,   He  "interpreted" what they explained to me, and made sure I understood everything that was going on, including when there were little "glitches" in the job, none of which were his fault.  He was in frequent contact with me in person or on the phone.  <br />"

"John Golden explained the process and pricing to us. We had a short time span available so John and Sean agreed to work us in as quickly as possible. Four weeks later the job was done. Joe and Aaron did the install and were very professional about their work, keeping the job site clean and explaining the work to us as they went.  <br /> The final product looks amazing and we are completely satisfied with the work. <br />"

FAQs for asphalt paving installation projects in Waterloo, IL

Most driveways wrap up in roughly a week. Allow two to three days for installation, followed by an additional two to three days for the surface to cure. Concrete and asphalt follow this timeline, whereas a gravel job often finishes more quickly. Laying out the schedule upfront makes it easier to plan your week and your budget.

Sealer prevents water, salt, and UV rays from damaging the surface. Apply a fresh coat every one to three years, and you’ll slow down the growth of cracks, avoid pricey repairs, and keep the driveway looking sharp. A local professional can handle the job efficiently and ensure even coverage.

Material is the significant driver when it comes to the lifespan of a driveway. Asphalt stays strong for about 20 years, concrete lasts 30 to 40 years, and paver stones can last 50 to 100 years because you can swap out damaged bricks. With regular top-ups, a gravel drive can also reach the century mark. Knowing these timelines helps you map out long-term maintenance and replacement costs.

Repaving strips everything down and starts fresh, letting you change the layout or improve drainage before pouring new material. Resurfacing, on the other hand, adds a top layer over a solid base, giving you a facelift without the need for a complete demolition. Go with repaving when the base is failing; choose resurfacing when the structure is sound and you just need a new surface.
