Abe walked us through every thorough and comprehensive step that he took to ensure the new living space would be safe and functional for many years to come. His estimate was accurate, his pricing, fair, and the subcontractors that he hired for plumbing and electric were professional, friendly, and swift. We asked Abe for a number of specialty finish carpentry projects and all were finished meticulously. We are still finding little surprises here and there that show just how much he cares about the function and beauty of his work! We had a custom glass shower door built, a hydraulic Murphy bed, and a ?secret bookcase door? leading to my husband?s office. "J & M Exteriors installed a vinyl fence at our home. Prior to doing so, they had to uninstall a wooden fence. We were not charged for the removal of the fence. Justin, Dan, and the rest of the crew were extremely professional, courteous, and hard working. They were able to get the job done quickly and meticulously. We have hired them again to build us a deck and to replace another wooden gate with a vinyl one in another area of our property. A veteran-owned business offering a military discount for veterans. "Very good. A couple guys not afraid to work. I believe they will do great work. They're sincere. I felt comfortable immediately. Plus, they have or have had dogs. ??"

"Greg promoted his service on Angie's list for $200 for 6 hours and I bought it.  He  showed up more or less on time (15 min late but no big deal), started assessing the work right away and pulling the wires.   One hour late another (very young) person showed up to join him, but it was clear he was very inexperienced and couldn't perform any work on his own.   By noon Greg said the "6 hour deal" is up because they have two peoples working, I absolutely refused to pay the apprentice the same rate because if anything he was slowing things down.  Greg grudgingly told me "don't worry about it".  
By 1pm two ceiling fan was up (only one worked) but Greg went to his other job (several towns away) for two hours which made me very anxious and to the point of upset because I was gravely concerned that he won't have time to finish all the projects I laid out for him.  I tried to call him several times but couldn't reach him.  While waiting for him, I chatted with the apprentice briefly and found out he just started from high school started apprenticeship several days ago.   
When Greg came back he finished wiring ceiling fan, the motion sensor lights and at my insistence, installed two lights in the attic, but it was too late to do anything else.   I paid him for additional time beyond the 6 hours but voiced my displeasure about his two-hour absence and the fact that I had to take a day off work for him.   He simply said "that's the way it is".  Greg left all the waste (cardboard boxes, Styrofoam, etc) in the house instead of hauling them away, or at least taking it to the trash dumpster.  
Overall I am satisfied with the quality of the work he did, but disappointed at his lack of professionalism.

"L&B Services did a tear down and rebuild of an old deck. They really know how to build a solid deck with poured cement footings, sauna tubes, and sturdy lumber. Bob was very good at keeping us informed of the work to be done and the timeline. The deck was done on time. It is a large deck (30x12) with 3 sets of stairs, dog gates, and skirting. The end result was a sturdy deck that will last for decades. Very easy and personable group to work with."

"Everything went wonderfully with this company.  They were very professional, listened to exactly what my problem was, and explained to me how they were going to diagnose the problem and/or solve it before doing any actual work.  Once they started, the team (three people came) worked together like a well-oiled machine.  One was in the room with diagnostics, one was at the fuse box looking for possible problems there, and the third went into the crawlspace beneath our house to look at the physical wiring.  Once the problem was found (there was a faulty wire beneath the house that had come loose from the junction box), it was fixed and tested within minutes and another full diagnostic was done to make sure there were no other possible issues.  They cleaned up after themselves very neatly.  They also replaced the light switch with a dimmer switch at no extra cost!  Well within my budget, and came in even lower than their original (FREE) estimate!  I would highly recommend this company to anyone in the Bergen County area.
