"Chimney Chap did an excellent job replacing the termination cap on my Vermont Castings gas stove at a reasonable cost. The two technicians who performed the work were very professional and worked hard to overcome some unforeseen installation difficulties. From my initial e-mail to the installation of the cap, Chimney Chap was very responsive. Meanwhile, some other companies I contacted were unresponsive and less interested in performing a small installation project. I will surely contact Chimney Chap, Inc. in the future if I experience any problems with my gas stove."

"We hired New Tile for two separate bathroom projects in our home. The first being a Kids Bathroom remodel which included gutting the existing bath floor and removing the tub surround. New Tile prepared the walls and floors and installed tiles around our tub and on an accent wall as well as tile on the bathroom floor. Our second project was our Master Bath addition where we converted a second walk in closet to a bathroom. The New Tile team helped us decide on what materials to use and also provided a job well done in there. The master bath work included preparation and installation of tile on our glass enclosed walk in shower, installing electric heat cables on our bathroom and shower floor as well as installing tile on our soak in tub backsplash including a custom build recessed niche with glass and stone mosaic tile. We couldn’t be happier with the entire process from start to finish and absolutely love the work. We will definitely hire New Tile again for our future projects."

"This is the 2nd property I have hired Mento replace my patio. They were half the price of their competitors. Jason’s vision for patio paver/walkway placement, gravel and hydro seed was on point. Now I have a lush lawn and an entertainment space I love. Work was complete in one day, staff was friendly and professional."

"Augustine was a pleasure to work with, punctual, very fairly priced and the quality was superb. I first hired him to replace an old storm door and the trim. He put in an Andersen storm door with the screen built in. I love it, no more changing the screen and the glass. The Azek trim really made the whole area look great. It's also much more energy efficient. I then decided to have him do some major chimney work. It's not an old chimney, but it's been leaking into the hearth, the crown was falling off in pieces and the cap needed to be replaced. In looking at the job, Augustine also said that the flue was completely deteriorating. The mason used porous bricks and too much sand in the concrete. That was why bricks were falling off. One of the first quotes I got was $35,000!! I was shocked. Augustine put on a new cap, crown, and put in new flue liners for a MUCH more reasonable price. He basically rebuilt the chimney. I now have no more water, drafts or bricks falling off. I now need all new windows. I had Augustine lift and replace a bad window to see how that went. It came out great. He removed all of the rot while replacing it and put on new Azek trim. It looks wonderful and there's no longer a draft. I will be ordering the rest of the windows for the house for Augustine to install in the spring. He was a very lucky find for me and I would highly recommend him to any friend or family member in need of work."

FAQs for brick or stone siding: repair or partially replace projects in West Yarmouth, MA

Stone veneer isn’t a weekend DIY. Even lightweight faux panels are heavy and must be anchored, flashed, and sealed to keep water out. Missteps can lead to cracked stone, leaks, or injuries. A licensed siding contractor arrives with scaffolding, masonry tools, and the know-how to set each piece safely and neatly, giving you a long-lasting, professional finish.

Stone veneer durability is robust when expert installation and proper maintenance are employed. When installed with precision, regularly cleaned, and sealed as required, stone veneer maintains its integrity for 25 to 75 years. Inadequate installation, however, leads to water intrusion and structural issues that compromise its longevity. Consistent upkeep and adherence to quality installation standards ensure decades of reliable performance.

Covering the entire exterior of a home with stone veneer is feasible but comes with a significant cost increase. Full coverage escalates both material and labor expenses due to the additional square footage required. Many homeowners reduce costs by applying stone veneer selectively—such as around entries, foundations, or architectural accents—while still achieving an upscale appearance and enhancing overall curb appeal.

Installing stone veneer over brick or stucco is entirely possible when the underlying surface is stable and properly prepared. The substrate must be clean, dry, and free of any loose material to support a secure application. Additionally, any areas of flaking stucco or deteriorated mortar must be patched and allowed to cure fully before a professional applies the new veneer, ensuring lasting durability.

Stone veneer siding offers a substantial cost advantage compared to full-thickness natural stone. It costs 25% of the price of natural stone because it is manufactured from concrete and lightweight aggregates. This method delivers the genuine appearance of stone while featuring a thinner profile that simplifies shipping, accelerates installation, and consistently reduces material expenses.

For a 250 square foot exterior area, stone siding installation costs range from $9,800 to $18,000, while installing stone veneer costs between $5,000 and $6,000. This clear cost breakdown demonstrates the significant savings achieved with stone veneer, which uses a lighter construction method that minimizes both material and labor expenses. Homeowners benefit from these lower costs while still attaining the attractive look of natural stone.
