"Blair Remodeling replaced 26 of my old wooden double hung windows with Wincore vinyl windows. I first met with Craig Blair on April. He gave me a quote that same day. He was very patient and was definitely not in a hurry to leave, even though it was late in the day. He answered all of my questions. After I thought about it for a while he came back another afternoon to answer more questions and show the demo window unit to my wife. Again, very patient and in no hurry to be anywhere. Made down payment in April. He said they would install in early June. That is exactly what happened. The install took only three days. They started on a Wednesday and finished on a Friday. The install crew consisted of three guys. They were extremely polite and cleaned up their mess each day. There was only one major issue. There were streaks and smudges on every window. It looked like some kind of sealant that was not cleaned off during the manufacturing process. I met with the lead installer on Friday morning and pointed this out to him and asked that he clean the windows. He was very condescending and obviously did not want to clean the windows. He said he would but I knew he would not. I went back to work (my wife was home but said she would not enforce the window cleaning) The project was finished when I got home Friday afternoon. The windows looked great but . . . You guessed it. There were still streaks and smudges on all the windows. Not wanting to be a pain, I tried cleaning the windows myself. The sealant was very difficult to remove. It would not come off with glass cleaner alone. I decided this should definitely be Blair’s responsibility. I asked for a meeting with Criag Blair. We met the following week. He was very polite and patient. He agreed to have the windows cleaned and address a few other minor issues. It took a while, and to be fair, I was out of town for a week but we finally coordinated on having the windows cleaned. The crew that did the installation came back out. They came while I was at work. My wife was home but declined to be the inspector. They finished cleaning about 3 PM. They waited for me to get home at 4:30. We walked around and inspected all 26 windows. There were a few touch ups but for the most part they did a good job. In summary, I was very pleased and satisfied with the entire process. I will definitely use Blair Remodeling in for any future projects. Craig Blair is the best. I totally trust him and I know that he will do whatever is necessary to make sure I am satisfied. Hopefully, Blair will add cleaning the windows to their standard installation procedure."

"Good job. <br /> Quality is acceptable if left on his own. <br /> He was open to suggestions and followed instructions. <br /> Job overall was good. <br /> He doesn't do concrete very well, but was willing to follow instructions to improve <br /> He offered to come back and fix ANYTHING that may show leaks or need repairs. <br /> Even if it was a year later, he said. <br /> <br /> ... <br /> <br /> A week has passed and I have found details here and there. <br /> Unfortunately it's details reflecting on his skills, not on his good will. <br /> I would not have him back to do a job that needs skilled craftsmanship. <br />"

"I was a little nervous about ordering windows on the internet using measurements I'd taken myself, but I loved the design on the website so, initially I only ordered 2 windows to check the quality, my ability to measure accurately and the company's ability to build to my measurements. Jeff, the salesman I dealt with was attentive without being overwhelming and the first order was delivered in about 4 weeks. The windows were exactly what I was looking for and fitting them was a breeze. I followed up with another order for the remaining 13 windows in my porch and again, they arrived quickly, were of great quality, exactly to size and easy to fit. Looking forward to see how they last their first winter."

"Fantastic. Connie and Greg are professional and conscientious from initial planning to completion. They coordinated all subs, listened carefully to our wishes, and worked hard to keep costs down while still providing superb work. Greg is very fastidious about keeping the construction site clean and protecting your existing floors and carpets from construction while Connie is in constant contact to keep you up to date on the arrival and departure of subs. Everything turned out beautifully and we are using them again for our next project - the kitchen! <br />"

"We needed to replace our 15-year-old roof. It has always been a hassle to deal with repairs AND repair companies!  This time, Gerry Nemet, the person who assisted us, made it so simple. He listened attentively to our needs, brought large samples, and got our roof approved to be covered by our insurance because he discovered we had hail damage. Gerry even drove us around in the area and showed us actual roof replacements so that we could see what the samples we were considering actually looked like. He was very efficient with paperwork, respectful of our timeframe, and continually checked on progress when the workers were at our home. For the first time in the 48 years we have owned our home, we didn't have any nails or debris left to surprise us with possible injury. This was very much appreciated because we have five tiny little grandchildren who play in our yard. In addition, he even installed a new roof on our playhouse to update a 35-year-old play center for our grandchildren!  What a thoughtful, and caring representative of his company. We would definitely recommend Quantum Renovations for any repairs and home improvement projects. <br />"

" Project manager, Scott Lamareoux, is outstanding and honest. I would NOT use this provider unless he is the manager - and I know what subcontractor I would insist on them using, too.  <br> <br>The roofing job was led by a subcontractor, Philip Lucas, and was nothing short of superior. I learned later, from another company that also uses Mr Lucas, that he has an outstanding reputation installing metal roofs and that I could have saved a bundle (about $2500) getting him through this other contractor. (Mr Lucas only works as a subcontractor so you have to ask for him specifically.) <br> <br>The conversion of my detached garage was a near disaster (though it ended satisfactorily). The estimate was about $2800 more than a competitor's estimate, but because we knew the Picket family through a church connection, we went with them. Pickett has no real direct labor employees, evidently, and everyone they use is whoever costs the less to do a project. (I believe in capitalism and have no problem with this so long as the work is done correctly.) The project was supposed to be four weeks with a handshake to try to get it done in three weeks before a holiday. The first subcontractor didn't order enough concrete and didn't prep the structure appropriately (and as agreed in the estimate) to where even I knew it was going to flood with any rain.  When I tried to suspend the project to get someone to come out and look at my concern, someone (other than Scott) from Pickett came out and said it'd be fine - but as predicted, the day after they "finished" the first time (4 weeks), it rained and the whole place flooded. With no way to drain, mold started right away. After three or four attempts to "save" the work done and fend off more flooding from rain, Scott came out and suggested French drains. A group came out and dug a ditch and put gravel in - not exactly a French drain. So, of course, it flooded again.  With a suggestion to try a deeper (real) French drain, I said no because I knew that wouldn't work long term. I insisted they build a barrier wall or build up the floor to an appropriate height. Scott thought the barrier wall was the best option, but I was charged extra for it. Who was the "A Team" they called in to fix it all? Mr. Lucas and his son who during this time had put on our roof. If he'd been the subcontractor on the detached garage conversion from the start, I'm convinced there would have been no problems. There were other little things that made the whole project stressful. Now, had I not realized and trusted that Scott was a "man of his word," which he is, I just don't believe it would have ever been resolved satisfactorily. In the end, a 3-4 week project was complete in just over 3 months. <br> <br>in the end, it all worked out and I have a new office, but it wasn't, by any stretch of the imagination, a smooth experience. <br> <br> <br> <br> <br>"

FAQs for sunroom or patio enclosure building service projects in West Blocton, AL

A sunroom is a fully enclosed space with walls of windows or glass. It allows you to enjoy the outdoors from the comfort of the indoors, protected from bugs and weather. It functions as an additional room in your home. A covered patio extends your home's roof over an outdoor area, providing shade and shelter while remaining open to the fresh air. It's a great way to enjoy outdoor living while being protected from sun and rain.

Adding screens to your porch is the most budget-friendly way to enclose it. Screening keeps out insects and debris while letting you enjoy the breeze and outdoor ambiance. It's less expensive than installing full walls or glass enclosures and doesn't usually require permits, making it an efficient way to upgrade your porch.

If you're transforming your porch into a fully enclosed living space like a sunroom, you'll likely need a sturdy foundation, such as a reinforced concrete slab, to support the structure. For a simple screened-in porch, you might be able to use the existing floor and support posts without additional foundation work. It's best to consult a professional to determine what's needed for your project.

An enclosed porch can be considered a living space if it's fully enclosed with solid walls and windows, has a proper roof, and includes heating and cooling systems. It should also have direct access from inside your home. When these criteria are met, the space becomes an extension of your home's livable area.
