"We've just had an exceptional experience working with Plumb Tite Plumbing. Our kitchen faucet broke after 20+ years of use and we decided on one of the newer, touch activated faucet replacements. Plumb Tite responded within 12 hours of our quote request on Angies List, and showed up 48 hours later. Brandon, our technician did an excellent, clean installation, and he was just enjoyable to work with. We'll request him again for future projects. When we asked about our aging sump pump and how long before it needed replacement, he inspected it and showed us that the float was no longer working and needed replacement soon. He had the pump on hand, and installed it immediately. We're very pleased with the work, the pricing and quality of materials used on our job. We'll be working with Plumb Tite again in the future, thanks."

"It was free of charge for them to send someone out to give us their expert opinion on how to resolve our basement leak. They ended up having to tear out the perimeter foundation and add drains and replace our sump pump, next big rain it leaked again and they came out and redone everything again and added a bigger sump pump and that did the trick, we have been basement flood free for 5 years now thanks to everdry. The lifetime warranty is great so when we sell house itâ ll go to the next owners"

"Excellent service. Dustin replaced a worn-out sump pump. He was on time, courteous, professional, and it was obvious he enjoyed his job, even though he had to work in a crawlspace. He had a great attitude which I really appreciated, especially in light of the fact that the previous plumber seemed less than thrilled to be there. I will definitely use Plumb Tite again as long as they send Dustin. The non-working sump pump was discovered during a kitchen renovation. I will be calling Plumb Tite when it's time to reconnect the kitchen sink, add a water line for the refrigerator ice maker, and install an instant water heater under the kitchen sink. Highly recommend."

"Appreciated that they were able to quote me price for new sump pump replacement and check valve over the phone. When tech came to install, he saw that my check valve was perfectly functional and so didn't replace and as a result gave me $50 off original quoted price. I appreciated that he didn't over charge or do extra work he didn't think necessary even though I had already approved him to do that work."

"The work that was provided was performed promptly and the crew leader was responsible and offered some extra interior drain lines due to the fact that the crawl space was extremely open making it very easy to do their work. They did the extra exterior drain line installation per the contract footage pricing to take the sump line to the street curb. very quickly and appearing to be quite well done. The testing of the sump action when they added water to the interior sump pit showed a quick deposit of water into the street. However, I am still seeing evidence of water in the CMU surfaces above elevation of the new interior drain line that was installed. I assume this to indicate that something should have been done at the wall exterior to take water away from the foundation (probably the J-channel installation)."

"We purchased 16 hours of painting for a fixed price. We had some 2 story work and almost a whole house to paint and we provided paint. They were detail oriented and accomplished the minimum we were hoping for and some additional walls given that 2 areas were a 2 story entry way and a vaulted bathroom. The prep work they did before painting was noticed and appreciated. Offered them additional work if they would provide a quote, however, there was a disconnect as far as how much time the painting was supposed to occur at this job. It was a contract for 2 painters for 8 hours or a total of 16 hours of painting. They expected to work from 8 to 4 and take a lunch/break for around a half hour to include in their 8 hour day. We had no issue with breaks, and my wife actually drove to pick up their lunch as a favor when no one would deliver them pizza. We expected them to setup/clean up and paint for the 16 hours even if they work at a pace that suits them. The person leading the team when pressed for how long they would be working to complete the 16 hours, and for for lack of a better word, he threw a tantrum and started screaming on the phone hysterically that he completed his work and would instead be leaving shortly before 4. He also rudely interrupted my wife who was working from home at the time and on a conference call and put a bill in her face and walked away. That being said, his partner continued to paint to finish the contracted number of hours which should also be noted. It's my understanding that he needed to pick up his dog by a certain time, but never bothered to give a reasonable explanation or state he would work that into what other work was still needed in the form of the quote. I would say to get clarification with them ahead of time, and I'm sure they would do a good job for you. I don't know if it's the price of the deal or what is expected from the vendors through these offers, but this is the second painting offer where the service provider doesn't have the expectation to fulfill the contacted amount of time. Not sure I would do this again on Angie's List without a full explanation of the work expectations of the vendor."

"Logan Services did a great job from beginning to end. Our propane furnace started failing after 25 years. I had the company out that installed it and they were able to get it to limp along, so I was not in an emergency situation and could shop around. I called five companies and had two more respond from a internet request. Of the five, two never returned a call. One came out and never did get me quote. Of the four bids I got, Logan Services was in the middle. I spent time with each person that came out and talked about what would be best. One spent 5 minutes, another about 10 minutes and the third about 30 minutes. Tyler H from Logan was very diligent, taking pictures and doing measurements and answering my questions. He took his time and ended up spending 90 minutes with us making sure he answered our questions and giving us pricing options before he left. I called him several times after I had gotten the other bids in and he was always patient answering my questions as we decided between a conventional AC unit or a heat pump. We decided to go with a dual fuel system with propane and a heat pump. The installers Ben, Chris and Ryan reviewed everything before starting and showed me how to work the new thermostat when they were finished. They arrived at 10am and didn’t get finished till 8:30 in the evening. It was a long day for them, but took time to answer my questions as we reviewed the thermostat programming. Having owned my own business for 25 years, I know the type of service and standards that I want and the people at Logan Services really delivered."
Logan A/C & Heat Services offered value, competitive pricing, top of the line Trane equipment, nice financing options that other companies did not offer. Dan was my sales rep that offered the above services. Bobby was the installer & was professional & did a great job. Install was scheduled on a Monday after I committed on a Friday; so very quick! "They fixed the leak and put in a sump pump and water trench. The basement leaked 2 more times afterwards, but they returned to correct it right away. We were responsible all 3 times to repair the drywall and wood landing at the bottom of the stairs,so I called saying that I should not have to keep fixing those thing over and over. The CEO of the company called back and came out to the house himself to inspect. He had his people come out to the house again to do more that he felt would fix the problem for good, as well fixing the drywall and landing at no cost. It was a frustrating experience, but this company and it's CEO stood by thier work and made it right. I would use them again."

"When installing a new refrigerator, the knob to turn the water off fell off in the service man’s hand and water was going everywhere. We had to turn the water off to the whole house. In a panic I found Home Advisor and after inputting my info, Amy from Mr. Rooter called within five minutes. After looking at her schedule, she said a tech would show up in 30-60 minutes. Don’t remember the time exactly, but Mike D. showed up in about 35-45. After inspecting the problem, he gave me an estimate. He said that there was a slow leak that had messed up the drywall and he had to cut it out. He installed all new pipes, bought a 2x4 because the new box was smaller than the old box and basically redid the entire site. Mike was so nice and explained everything he did. He realized that I was stressed and made every effort to make this process as easy as he could. If the service men would have brought the new refrigerator inside, Mike D. would have installed it for me. (They came back later and there were no issues installing the new fridge). When I first got the estimate I thought it was high, but I had no choice. In retrospect, I received much more value for my money. I will hire Mr.Rooter and Mike D. for any future plumbing projects."

FAQs for sump pump or interior foundation drains installation projects in West Chester, OH

Most residential pumps draw approximately 1,300 to 2,900 watts when they first start, then settle at roughly 800 to 1,050 watts during normal operation. The exact number depends on the motor’s horsepower and how often the float switch tells the pump to run. Even at the high end, the electricity cost is minor compared with the expense of cleaning up a flooded basement.

Grab a ruler and an empty 18‑inch‑wide pit. During a steady rain, time how much the water rises in one minute. Multiply that depth (in inches) by 60 to calculate gallons per hour, then add 50% for safety. If the result tops 2,100 gallons per hour—about 35 gallons a minute—you’ll need a 3/4‑horsepower unit. Anything lower, and a 1/3- or 1/2-horsepower pump should do the trick.

Loud rattling, constant cycling, or shuddering vibrations are the pump’s way of telling you it’s on its last legs. Musty smells, higher electric bills, and visible rust are other red flags. If the unit is 10 years old or older and exhibits any of these symptoms, replace it before the next heavy rain turns your basement into a wading pool.

You don’t have to hire a licensed plumber, but you should still bring in someone who installs sump pumps for a living—whether that’s a plumber, basement‑waterproofing specialist, or experienced handyman. They know the local codes, can wire the pump safely, and will test the system before they leave. Skipping professional help might void the warranty and could leave you with a pump that fails when you need it most.

Not every basement needs a pump, but if your home sits in a floodplain, has a high water table, or has ever taken on water during a storm, a sump pump is inexpensive insurance. For basements that only struggle with condensation or the occasional damp spot, sealing cracks and improving drainage may be all that is needed.
