"John is the best! I used three animal control companies to help me get rid of mice in my attic in the last 4 months. One is only put bait in my basement and told me mice will come down to basement for food in the future. One is point out the problem but ask for thousands of dollars to seal all gap around my house. Until I hired John, He was pretty sure mice came from the gap between my garage wall and soffit, and he came to seal it in the same week. He is very knowledgeable and responsible. "Ron from Ampest was our exterminator.  He arrived on time and performed a whole house inspection and inspected the attic for any rodents.  He determined that they had created a small hole in the eaves of the roof and set traps both on the roof as well as on the ground by the tree.  Over the next 5 days we caught about 6 squirrels (the mother and some of her babies)and even one chipmunk.  He arrived every morning to check the traps, replace them with new ones and take the squirrels to a forest preserve to release them unharmed..  After the service was ended, we cut down the tree by the house to prevent any squirrels or other wildlife from climbing on the roof. About a week later we heard some other noises in the attic and actually saw one squirrel on the roof so we called them out again.  He looked again in the attic to ensure they did not get in but were confined to the eaves.  He set more traps but was unable to catch any more squirrels.  We think they eventually jumped off the roof and we have never heard anything back in the next two weeks.  We are very pleased with their service, attention to detail and professionalism.  They answerde all of our questions and did not hesitate to return after the contract was over to set more traps and monitor. <br />"

"100% would recommend Mica from Plunkett’s to deal with your cockroach issues. We had roaches off and on for many months, despite a good cleaning regime etc., and eventually realized other units in our shared building had the same issues. Mica quickly and precisely diagnosed the source of the issue, was real with us about time and possible costs, worked with us in coordinating multiple units, patiently answered all questions, and in the end helped my neighbors and I deal with this extremely persistent issue in a relatively short time frame. He approached treatment with a lot of care and thought, in particular listening and adjusting for our concerns re: safety of our young toddler. This was a big one for us! Plunkett’s was a bit more expensive than some other pest control companies we looked at, but neighbors had already tried multiple other services and it never got rid of the issue. In the end, it was probably cheaper than multiple ineffective treatments, but more importantly we haven’t seen a roach in several months."

"<p>Years ago (estimate mid to late 1990's) when squirrels were invading my building, American Pest Solutions came to my rescue.  Oh yes, squirrels came in above my cathedral ceiling and chewed a hole roughly the size of a baseball.  Really?  the cathedral ceiling?  Well yes.  So I've been cautious with periodic inspections of their work as the cost of their inspection is far less than the scaffold, drywall and paint to repair.  They installed a heavy wire mesh under the building's eaves.  This month I watched the squirrels fatten up for winter and decided that it was time again for a check.  They are easy to schedule and prompt.  I cannot say enough good kudos to this company!  Thanks for being available when I need you!</p> <br />"

"The gutters are coming loose on one side of the house, and I have a roof leak on the other side. As the roofer was looking over the situation in preparation of an estimate, he noticed a squirrel go in at the point where the gutter came loose. After reading reviews of several companies on Angie's list, I chose Critter Control because they seem to specialize in this sort of problem, as opposed to companies that do general pest control, bug extermination, etc. <br /> The woman who answered the phone described the pricing structure, so there were no surprises regarding the bill. There was a set fee for the initial service call and for monitoring the traps, which was paid at the time the service tech initially came to the house. There was also a charge for each squirrel trapped, which was billed after all the squirrels were caught and the job was complete.  Also, at the time I set up the appointment, they gave me $5 off for being an Angie's list member. The total cost was very reasonable for the work that was done. <br /> J.P. came out as scheduled to review the situation, and he set up traps near the gutter to catch squirrels. He said they usually are found in family groups, and he was right. They caught four squirrels altogether.  When they didn't catch anymore, they filled the hole with crumpled paper (or the equivalent) and then checked to see whether the paper was disturbed in any way.  Once J.P. was satisfied that there were no squirrels left in the attic, he placed a more sturdy barrier over the hole, intended to keep out any critters until the roof and gutters are replaced. <br /> On the other side of the house, where there was a leak in the roof, he noticed that the hole in the roof appeared to be the result of a raccoon tearing up the shingles. He peeked into the resultant hole but did not notice the telltale smell of an active raccoon residence. Just to be safe, he filled in the hole with paper that could be moved by raccoons, if they were still going in and out of this hole.  The paper was not disturbed for several days, so he concluded that they are not living there currently.  Just to be sure, he covered the hole with a screen that will keep them out until the roof gets fixed. <br /> J.P. was very knowledgable, professional and friendly. He checked the traps every morning and called me with updates. The process took one work week (Monday thru Friday). They took the squirrels to Palatine (or thereabout) to humanely set them loose. Also, this is quite far from my house, which helps to ensure that they will not find their way back. <br /> I would definitely use them again if I have any more critters in the attic! <br /> <br />"

"They did not really fix my problem. They put cages up, but it was about a month before any animal went into the cage. When that happened the guy was on vacation. The animals did leave, but I think that was because we harassed them. They were really nice people. I volunteered my husband to refill the food, but I would say to let them do it."
