"We wanted to update the exterior of our 1950s rambler. Some of the work we wanted done was new siding, stonework, several new windows/doors, and to add a sliding glass door in the kitchen to give access to the backyard. We also wanted to make sure we kept some of the craftsmanship of our home, such as the cedar shake look, but with an updated look. Everything we ask for was delivered and then some! While working, everything was kept clean. We have three children and all workers were always cognizant of that with language and decorum. The time frame was also really fast. It was about two weeks total for everything to get done. Also, if ever I had questions, my texts were always answered promptly. One thing that I really liked was that the extra things that came up were never a burden to take care of. Sometimes with other companies we have dealt with, the company will grumble about having the extra work. Not Horton Contracting. He understands that things come up with older homes and, in fact, anticipates it. Some of the "extras" that our house needed was proper venting of a bathroom fan, electrical work for outside outlets, moving a radiator for our sliding glass door, and assisting us in getting attic A/C installed in our home. We have received so many compliments on our home that people have actually knocked on our door inquiring about the work. I would definitely recommend and hire T. L. Horton Contracting again."

"I have an invasive weed Garlic Mustard that suddenly appeared in April and also the common buck thorn in my back trees. I was told I had to pay cash and they would not take a check. They would also not come to do any estimate on how many guys and hours I would need to do the job; I had to guess. I ended up having them come two times: first 4 guys for 8 hours; second time 2 guys for 4 hours (per the guess of the first leader for how long and what I'd need the second time). They still did not complete the job. The first crew of guys were better than the second crew of guys. They were college guys, some working hard, some walking and working slowly and on their phones. However, I'm suffering cancer and could not take care of the job, thus had to get someone to control the spread. Thankfully, they did get most of the job done for me. Whether the Garlic Mustard was pulled out by the root, time will tell. The first crew used shovels and got the buck thorn pulled out pretty good; the second crew just cut the buck thorn off. Although I had informed Eric Pfeffer about the invasive weed and explained how it would spread on boots and tools, procedures were followed by some of the guys and not by others. They did not seem to be familiar with working with an invasive weed. Both crews arrived on time, but stopped work 45 min before end time to pick up tools, but also both left the job site (unfinished) a good 20-30 minutes early. Eric communicated via email pretty good after the initial "canned" email response. In their survey, they ask to rate the guys - if you expect this, they need to have their names on their shirts or give you their names. I am unsure, I may or may not hire again."

"Craig of Bison Roofing stopped by and took photos, inspected the roof and did a bit of work on a spot he noted may be causing some current problems. The roof needs replacement. Craig sent me information about grants for the elderly to accomplish replacement as I presently have limited income and considerably debt. Craig was most helpful, very concerned, and caring. I would definitely give the a great rating as a company that cares. If I could have the work done I would select them to do the work! Thank you again Craig and Bison Roofing. "I contacted Cabinets.com because of a friend's recommendation. I am totally remodeling my kitchen top to bottom and had no idea how to go about creating a design or much else.. From the first phone call, I was treated with kindness, patience, and respect. I was assigned designer Greg Flassig. I was nervous about all the questions I had and whether he'd be willing to walk me though the process for as long as it took. Not only was he willing, but Greg calmly and patiently answered every single question. He spent as much time with me as I needed, explaining what I didn't understand, adjusting what I needed, and suggesting. what was optimal for. my needs. He even brainstormed solutions with me when I was unhappy with any aspect of the design. Not only did Greg professionally and compassionately help me, but he had a way of reducing my anxiety when it reared up. Greg was respectful of my budget and my needs, and truly heard what I said. He answered every single question I had, and when I didn't know what to ask, he knew what to say. I can't wait to get my cabinets and create my dream kitchen. After working with Greg, I have absolute confidence it will be perfect!"
