"Eduardo was very quick to respond. I had sent my info on my pump, and he had let me know within the hour that he had a replacement that he could bring over that very same day. He came later in the afternoon and promptly replaced my pump motor with a compatible model. He was prompt and professional. He was also able to provide a pool filter cap when he realized I had a leak in my system, which was originally unplanned for. I would highly recommend The Best Pool Doctor based on my experience."

"On time, returns calls, cleans up, professional. Had small problem after they left and Ed returned promptly and took care of it. Better than the local pool company that subcontracted the last pool liner and the original installation company. . Recommend!"

"It went great. We were in good hands with the Ranieri family throughout the entire project. They are extremely reliable, diligent about keeping us informed about the process, and deeply knowledgeable about concrete deck installation and pool installation and care. Our 30+ year old 20x40 inground pool had crumbling old pavers around it and the pool plumbing needed replacing before we could put a deck in. The Ranieris were a one-stop-shop for this work. They replaced the plumbing, installed a new skimmer box, and poured a gorgeous curved edged 10' patio on one side and 4' deck around the rest of the pool. They are excellent communicators, keeping us informed all throughout the process and coordinated directly with our electrician to get the new ground wire installed and permitted before they poured. No hiccups at all with this process. This work happened this spring 2022, so there were supply and delivery issues with concrete that are outside of the contractor's control. From our perspective, the wait wasn't too bad, and the Ranieris kept us informed every step of the way. Their work is both art and science. We love what they built for us. We would hire the Ranieris for any future projects, and we highly recommend them."

"The ceiling fan/light removal and install of the chandolier went well.
Care was taken to assure that all six light "arms" were spaced evenly and level .
Advice was given as to bulb size and wattage .The final result was very satisfactory.
Due to the style of the existing switches, the dual dimmer install posed a bit of a challenge ,
but the dimmer that I had bought was able to be installed and works well.
The replacement of the bathroom ceiling fixture was "1-2-3" done ,  works well .
The installation of the 3 light sink fixture was more involved than I anticipated.
I had told the electrician that there was a light bar on the wall but a contractor
removed it and closed up the wall . The connection wires were in the wall but not
located where the fixture was , they had been moved . The electrician had to fish around
in the wall and I think that he ran a new wire to connect the new fixture.
All work areas were left clean and tidy.
I have one  additional job to schedule for JJL Electric LLC ( a new outlet installation).

"It was fine. The work did get done by him. I asked the guy to do one specific task and he decided he wanted to do it a different way. So he didn’t really do what I asked him to do. I had a hot tub outside that needed rewiring. I went out; I bought the wire that cost about $50 or $60 to have the hot tub rewired. When I first placed the order, I told him that I wanted the ceiling fan in the bathroom done and the hot tub rewired. He did an extension of the existing wire in the hot tub. He told it was going to be too complicated. I trust that he informed me correctly but according to the pool company it was not a very complicated thing where he had to snake the wire through the pipe and connect it to the box outside and to the hot tub. When I put the hot tub back in the wiring seemed a little shorter. He decided he didn’t want to use the new wiring that I bought. It was easier for him to just extend one wire. The reason I wanted him to put new wiring in was because I wanted it to be safer. I didn’t want a patch near the water in the hot tub. He wasn’t wrong but he wasn’t right either but I was a little disappointed in that. If he had started the project I would have paid him extra to finish it. He told he didn’t want to do it. The timing was good. I got the deal and then he called me. He told he was going to be in the neighborhood and asked me if he could stop by and do my work. I said fine. The ceiling fan was installed beautifully and it works perfectly fine. He spent time going out to get a part for the hot tub that I paid him to do. I was a little disappointed but he did fix it. It was a big deal purchase. There was no extra cost. The only thing I didn’t get was a receipt from the whole deal. I got a receipt that he paid me. I didn’t get a receipt that he performed x number of functions. He didn’t give me any paper work at the end of the work order. I wanted verification that it was done by a licensed electrician. In terms of professionalism, he actually needs to work on his presentation at the end of the day."

"Choice was fast, efficient, and kept me posted on the progress of the claim. Although the water leak issue was discovered on a Friday, they had a plumber there to investigate by Saturday morning. When it was determined that the 20+ year old heater needed to be replaced, the replacement ordered, on-site, and installed by Wednesday morning. I am glad that we opted for the Choice Ultimate plan as other than the initial $65 service fee, all but one $50 ancillary expense was covered."

FAQs for swimming pool covers installation and replacement projects in West-medford, MA

The lifespan of automatic pool covers varies by component. Cover fabrics require replacement every five to six years, costing between $2,000 and $5,000, depending on size and material quality. Mechanical elements like motors function for five to ten years before needing replacement at $450 plus labor. The tracking system and housing unit can last considerably longer with proper care. Scheduling professional maintenance one to three times yearly at $150 to $200 per service helps maximize the operational life of all components.

While automatic covers require a larger initial investment, they provide significant advantages that often justify the premium. The convenience of one-touch operation encourages more consistent use, maximizing energy savings that can reach 50% to 70% on heating costs. The enhanced safety features, reduced chemical requirements, and decreased water evaporation deliver ongoing operational savings. These benefits outweigh the higher upfront expense for households that use their pools frequently.

Most existing pools can be retrofitted with automatic covers, though rectangular shapes accommodate them more easily than custom configurations. On-deck track systems offer the most straightforward installation for existing pools since they require minimal structural modifications. Recessed track systems necessitate more substantial deck alterations but provide a cleaner appearance. A professional assessment is essential to determine which system best suits your pool's specific layout and structural characteristics.

Proper maintenance includes promptly removing standing water and debris to prevent excessive weight on the cover. Use manufacturer-approved cleaning solutions for periodic washing according to recommended guidelines. Keep tracks clear of dirt and obstructions that could cause alignment problems or motor strain. Professional servicing one to three times yearly allows technicians to inspect mechanical components, lubricate moving parts, and make necessary adjustments before minor issues develop into major problems requiring costly repairs.
